A
s many of you long time readers
know, this book was written as part of National Novel Writing Month with the
majority of typing done at The Night of Writing Dangerously, an annual
write-a-thon in San Francisco to benefit the Young Writers Program. The Young
Writers Program provides free in-school creative writing classes and support.
I began writing in the 4
th
grade, and so it holds a very special
place in my heart.
It is with overwhelming gratitude
that I thank my donors: Anne Auve, Caitlin Bergendahl, Cori Palladino, Joe
Purcell, Richard Van Slyke, Tammy Turk, Debbie Valdivia, and Erika Wolbach. You
helped a lot of kids and made this world a better place.
A special thanks to the Night of
Writing Dangerously Angels who went above and beyond with their support: C.L.
Jones, Corny Koehl, Christy & Tyler Wilhelm, and the Danley Family. BEYOND
I SAY!
I did not come up with the title of
this book. My Facebook followers did. In fact, the winning title came from
the brain of Ray Stilwell. So thank you, Ray!
Putting together this book took a
village. Special thanks to my Beta Reader of Awesome, Adam Jackman, and Proofreader
of Pure Power, Raighne Kotrla (she didn’t proofread this section, so any typeos
here is pruely my own). Thanks to Mia and Ryan Winn for the ghost tour which
inspired this whole mess. And a huge thank you to my family and friends for
continuing to support me in all this madness.
But most of all, a special thank
you to you. Yes, you. You, who pick up my books and say nice things and tell
your friends. Don’t tell anyone, but you have always been my favorite. Thank
you.

The O’Hare House Mysteries
From the award winning author of
The Woodcutter comes a spirited ghost story laced with Gothic tension, romance,
and mystery.
Grieving widow Clara O'Hare accepts
an invitation to a séance in the remote country home of Lord Horace Oroberg.
Joining her around the table are Oroberg's cad of a son, Clifford; his mousy
fiancée, Violet; her overbearing mother, Hilda Nero; Norman Scettico, a
renowned scientist; the lovely Marguerite Matson; and the dashing young medium,
Wesley Lowenherz.
Before long, the group's
fascination with the spirit world calls up something sinister, and Clara and
Wesley are pulled together to solve a murder most foul in a manor most
spirited.
T
his is a work of fiction. All of
the characters, organizations, and events portrayed in this novel are either
products of the author’s imagination or used fictitiously.
