I decided to make an early start for work as there was much to do before the shop opened. I smiled when I approached my new car as the memories of Ethan came rushing back. I noticed a piece of paper tucked underneath one of the window wipers. It was almost a foregone conclusion who placed it there. I opened it and began to read what was written,

‘Emily, I hope that my gifts have made you happy. We’ve both been through serious losses but I think that we can learn from all of this and move on. Yes, I made a mistake but it was not an intentional one. I have no idea what you want from me. Tell me and I will do it. Do you still want me to want you, Emily? I don’t want to lose you, but I will respect your decision. Ethan.’

Wow, I wasn’t expecting that and he has certainly put me on the spot. Although his gifts were appreciated, they had not created the impact he had hoped. Now, he has left it up to me on how to proceed. He showed me that he had a softer side so many times and now I wanted to give this unusual relationship and this unusual man a chance. I knew that even though we still had a lot to work out, I was going to be there for him every step of the way. I knew now with all of my heart that I was in love with him and was 100% ready to let him back into my life. I would whole heartedly forgive him and embrace our agreement but before I did, it was time to give Ethan Sterling a little taste of his own medicine.
