She hadn’t talked to him
in
days
when
they usually talked every day. When Sugah started working with them, she noticed a change in him. Whenever she
saw him staring at Sugah the way he was, she thought it was because he liked her, but the other day at brunch, she knew that he didn’t like
the girl. But why, Latte wondered. Sugah was a sweetheart and didn’t take shit from anyone. She reminded her of herself and that’s why she admired her so much. She had to talk to Cap and soon. If anything happened to Sugah and she was able to avoid it, she wouldn’t be able to forgive herself.

Meanwhile, she was tired of this little scene in front of her. “Coffee, you okay! Now, did you just hear what J said? She found your nephew
,
Bitch
!
Damn, s
ay something, anything, but your sister is overwhelmed with emotion right now
.
S
he was hoping that your ass would be excited to know that you have a nephew who has been right under your damn nose all these years. I should slap the hell outta you for making her cry. Hell, she has cried enough don’t you think!” Latte was pissed. How dare Coffee just sit there and not say or do anything to comfort Java who was damn near having a panic attack.

“Hey, calm
the fuck
down
Latte
. Nobody asked you to say anything. This is a lot of shit to process.” Coffee gave Latte an exasperated look. He was getting tired of her ass anyway, always trying to down talk people, or act like she was so perfect.
Hell, she forgot that he knew her
ass before she had money, when she was a stripper shaking her ass for chump-change, and giving blowjobs in the backseat of cars. If she wanted her secret to remain, she had better shut the hell up. Latte was
looking at
the way Coffee was looking at
her
, knowing that he was recalling just how well they knew each other. She quickly changed her attitude and looked away from him.

Coffee walked over to his sister, who was now staying steps away from them with her back towards them. It was obvious she was in tears, and he felt like an ass. The last thing he wanted was for his sister to think that he wasn’t happy of her amazing news, or had anything to do with her son being taken away from her. He felt like a total jackass and wanted to make things right. He put his hand on her shoulder. When she didn’t pull away, he leaned in and embraced her. “
I am so sorry J. I was just completely shocked to hear the information you just gave me. How is this possible? How do you know it’s true? What…I need answers, J.
How do you truly know it is him? Now, I’m not saying that it isn’t possible, but this is so suddenly. It just doesn’t seem right to me.
” It was Coffee’s turn to ask questions. “Really, how did this all come about? And start from the beginning.”

Java looked at Latte
,
and Latte took her cue. She sighed, taking a deep breath. “Coff, a few days ago I ran into Mya and Simone. They were in a heated discussion
,
and I kinda felt sorry for the way Simone was being treated. I polite
ly
cleared my throat and when they saw me, both of those bitches nearly died. I told them that ladies shouldn’t act like Bitches in public and to tone it down. Of course Mya didn’t like me being in her space nor telling her what she should do, so she excused herself. While she was gone I aske
d Simone was she okay and she sl
ipped me one of her business cards. I didn’t know what it was until I walked out of the restaurant. As I was leaving, Mya was returning to the table and as we passed, she gave me the most evil ass look I have ever seen in my life. I hate that Bitch so much, damn. Anywho,
I called Simone the next day and she told me that she wanted to make amends with Java. She said that she knew things about Mya that would send her ass to prison for a
very
long, long, long ass time. You know me, I was all ears then. If I could put that whore behind bars for all the shit she done to cause so much pain to the people I care about, I was listening to every word Simone had to say.”

As Latte talked, Coffee shook his head forgetting about the time. There was no way he could lecture today. Although he wanted to see Sugah, he couldn’t leave his sister in a time like this. His nephew had been found. She would understand. They would understand if he canceled class. And if not, too damn bad. Family came above all else. He focused his attention back on what Latte was saying.

“What I’m about to say, J, you don’t even know. I wanted Simone to tell you last night but when things got cut short, I figured it was time I tell you. The only reason I didn’t mention this last night was because you had already had too much. I didn’t want to add anything to that. I hope you understand my position.” Java nodded and Latte went on. “Guys, Mya is sicker than we thought. She takes medication and Simone said that she doesn’t know that she knows about it. The poor girl has some serious mental issues. Simone shared so much shit with me that I feel sorry for them, especially Mya. But, once I learned that she lied to Simone about their mother not loving her and didn’t want her around, I lost it. I
wanted to go whi
p Mya’s ass and then have her l
ocked the hell up. How can you do that to your own flesh and blood? Simone recently found out that Mya and their mother are in c
ahoots with each other. They are planning to kill Sugah just to get back at her mother. The only thing that I don’t know is why
,
and Simone doesn’t either. Guys, we have to find out. I like Sugah and I simply adore her mother. If anything happens to them, we are partly responsible. We did recruit her.”

“No, you recruited her,” Coffee spat. “I swear on my parents grave that if Mya and her mother comes anywhere near Sugah, I won’t hesitate fucking the both of them up!”

Java was with her brother of that. She liked Sugah and her mother. She had to meet with Ms. Charlotte to find out if she had any idea as to why they would want to harm her or Sugah
, or if she even knew them
. “I think I can find out. Sugah’s mother gave me her number and told me to come see her anytime. I may be visiting her sooner than I had thought
,” Java announced.

“That whole family is screwed up, even Simone, although she is trying to do better. I can tell that she is extremely hurt by all of this. I want to help her but I don’t know how,”
Java continued
. She felt in her spirit that Simone was genuine and she would do anything within her power to save the girl again as she had done years ago. Deep down inside Java knew that Mya was the mastermind behind all that had transpired. Simone was simply a pushover and went along with her sister just because she didn’t want to lose her. She knew how that felt because once upon a time she too had been a victim of a deceitful person. She wondered if Xavier knew of all that Simone shared with them. Was he in on it? Maybe it was time to see another old face from her past, Java concluded. She needed more information, more answers before saying Charlotte. That way she would be able to give her as much knowledge about the situation as possible to help solve the mystery they had suddenly found themselves a part of.

“Well, anything you need of me, I’m in. I have to get to work, so I will speak with you both later. Oh, should we let Espresso in on this? He is a huge factor in all this too considering that he was once deeply in love with Mya. I think that he still is if you ask me.”

Neither Coffee nor Java disagreed. They thought and felt the same way. They loved Espresso and didn’t want to see him get hurt again, so they had to tell him. “I think he needs to know just in case he sees Mya and she tries to use her beauty and her pussy to get him back on her side. You both know how that man can turn into a complete fool over that woman,” Latte said. “I love So like a brother but
he is a sucka for some pussy, trust me on that one.” Latte quickly regretted her last statement. She didn’t want her secret to come out about her and Espresso’s relationship. Even though they were just friends with benefits, she was beginning to develop strong feelings for him.
Besides, it wasn’t anyone’s business but theirs. She saw the way Coffee and Java looked
a
t her for further information but she had already said too much.
She just hated that he seemed interested in M
ocha. Now that was one bitch that
needed to be watched. All the shit she had going on was surreal. Latte wondered just how well Java and Coffee knew her. She was one scandalous bitch if ever she knew one. She knew this because she had known her before she became who she was now.

Latte recalled the night she saw Mocha being beaten in the parking lot of the place they both worked. When she tried to help Mocha told her that she was okay. The man who was abusing her looked familiar, but she never questioned the situation. Weeks passed and the man was never seen again. But that was just one of the many men Mocha got involved with. She was too secretive, and Latte didn’t trust her one bit. She prayed that Java and Coffee didn’t either. She only tolerated her because of the organization. Outside of work, they didn’t hang out of associate at all. The one time she ran into Mocha outside of work was at Espresso’s house. Although they pretended it was strictly business between them, Latte wasn’t a fool. She knew something more was going on between them, she just couldn’t prove it. And when they both disappeared during brunch the other day, she nearly cried. It was her own fault thought for allowing her feelings to get in the way. When she and Espresso first hooked up, she was lonely and so was he. They agreed to the terms of their relationship and everything was cool
until Latte started caring for him more and more. She shook those thoughts away. Now was not the time or place.

“Anyway, Coffee you should be the one to tell him. I have to go. I would
love
sitting around here with the two of you today, but I gotta work.
Tootles,” Latte said as she walked to the front door and was gone before either of them could see the mischievous grin spread across her face. Damn she was horny and Espresso was just the right person to scratch her itch. Maybe she woul
d stop by his office since their plans to get together last night wer
e interrupted
due to the new chain of discoveries.
Why couldn’t she just mind her own business and let everyone else handle his or her own? That would be the death of her, she was sure of it.

After Latte left Java
and Coffee were strategizing. They wanted to formulate a plan of action just in case Mya got wind of what was going on
,
or if Simone suddenly got cold-feet about going against her sister. They also thought about
what to tell Sugah’s mother and when to tell Sugah. Coffee called the university and canceled all of his classes that day to stay with his sister. He would also be tagging along when she went to meet his nephew for lunch.

“So Coff, what do you think of all this? I’m serious
.
Y
ou think I’m being too naïve about this or what? I have longed for this day and now that it’s here, I can hardly keep still. Mark is amazing. He is kind and sweet and intelligent. He is charming and athlet
ically
built like
Xavier
. Coff, I still cannot get the image of him all grown up ou
t of my head. The last time I
s
aw
him he was only days old
,
and now he is a man.” Java got silent all of a sudden. Tears filled her eyes again
.
Coffee got up to embrace her. “What’s wrong?
This is a great situation. We should be celebrating instead of in here doing all this crying. I haven’t cried this much since my last ass-whipping from dad.

They laughed thinking about that day. Coffee wasn’t able to sit down for hours because he disobeyed their father. That was the first and only time he made such an idiot move. “You know I still have nightmares about that damn belt”, he said. Java laughed harder grabbing her side. “Stop…I can’t breathe. Dad almost beat the black off your ass and that is a lot of black.”

“Oh…so you got jokes!” Java looked at her brother’s pouty face and doubled over in laugher. All of her troubles were washed away, thanks to him yet again. She needed a good laugh and that is exactly what she got. Coffee couldn’t help but join in. The siblings laughed for several more minutes before getting back serious.

“Coff, Mark will be twenty-one in a few weeks. I have missed out on all of his milestones. How could Xavier do something so crude? I hate him,” she shouted. Coffee put his hand on the back of her hand and pulled her into his chest. He consoled his sister as best he knew how under the circumstances, thinking about the visit he would pay to Xavier for causing her so much pain. “Shh…everything will be okay. You have him back now and I promise that I won’t let anything stand in the way of the two of you finally having a mother-son relationship. I will be the best uncle ever. Sis, our family just got bigger,” Coffee spoke with tears rolling down his cheeks. He was overjoyed for her sister, his nephew and for himself.
There was nothing more that he cherished than family and now theirs was finally complete. The only other thing that would fully complete it was Sugah becoming his wife.
”…and sis, I know that you still love him. It’s okay. He was your husband and is also the father of your child. Maybe it’s time the two of you talk.” Java cried louder from her brother’s revelation. Her secret was now out, something she wanted to keep hidden forever.
