“Okay,”
my dad said. “And now for my favorite part. Eligos, do you take Keira to be
your wife, to have and to hold, to love and protect, for all eternity and
beyond?”

“I
do,” Eligos smirked. “Nice word change,” he whispered.

“Thank
you,” my dad laughed. “You can place the ring on her finger.”

I
heard Lily crying as he gave me the ring.

“Keira,
do you take Eligos to be your husband, to have and to hold, to love and protect,
for all eternity and beyond?” my dad asked.

“I
do,” I smiled, before taking the other ring and placing it on Eligos’s finger.

“Then,
by the power invested in me by Lucifer, I pronounce you man and wife. Eligos,
you may kiss your bride… again.”

Everybody
cheered as he leaned forward and kissed me. I wrapped my arms around the back
of his neck, and when the kiss ended I hugged him tight. I couldn’t take the
smile off my face. This was the happiest day of my life, one I would cherish
the memory of forever. Eligos pulled back a little to look me in my eyes.

“Well,
it’s official. You’re mine, and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it
now.” He grinned.

“Oh,
how will I cope with that?” I smiled before kissing him.

“Okay,”
Danny shouted. “Time to celebrate!” He grabbed a large bottle of champagne he
had hidden next to his seat and shook it hard. “To Keira and Eligos!” He popped
the cork off the bottle and began to spray us all. Everyone ran away from him
as quickly as they could, laughing and screaming.

Now,
it was time for the after party. There was so much food and so many bottles of
wine and beer, I couldn’t believe my eyes. Everyone grabbed a drink and then
pushed me and Eligos onto the decking someone had laid down to have the first
dance. He looked me in my eyes all the way through.

“My
darling wife,” he smiled. “I love you.”

I
kissed him and repeated the beautiful words. Words I wanted to hear him say
every day for the rest of forever.

The
party continued throughout the rest of the afternoon, and by early evening,
everyone was rather tipsy, all except for Lily and myself. We’d had a couple,
but we had been too busy dancing to get drunk.

Sadly,
my dad had to return to Heaven just before nightfall. He shook Eligos’s hand,
and spent twenty minutes or so alone with me.

“I
have something else to tell you,” he said as we stepped around to the other
side of the house. “You’re part angel now… do you know what that means, Keira?”

“Yeah,
it means I’m one tough cookie.” I laughed.

He
smiled and held my hand. “It also means that you can see me whenever you like.
Your grandfather, too.”

“What?”

“Only
you will be able to see us, not your human friends, or your demon ones either.
The rules are still the same. We’re still spirits, but you have a divine side
to you; therefore, we will be visible to you always.”

I
couldn’t speak, I was so happy. My eyes welled up, and I threw my arms around
him.

“I
will now finally be able to spend quality time with my beautiful daughter.”

“I
can’t wait. But…hang on, why didn’t Grandfather come here?”

“Only
one of us would be made visible to your friends…I wanted to be the one to see
you, to marry you and Eligos. Your grandfather understood and agreed. I’m going
to go back to him soon and tell him all about your big day.”

I
hugged him again, and he spent the remainder of his time with us telling me how
proud he was and wishing me nothing but happiness.

I’d
joined Eligos for a small glass of wine and another kiss and cuddle. I was now
having a little bit of me time, sitting on my swing while the others continued
to drink, dance, and sing along to the music very, very badly. The skies were
clear and I found myself staring at the moon.

“Keira,”
Lily said, sitting next to me and taking my hand. “Are you happy?”

“Very.”
I smiled. “And you, mommy-to-be?”

“I
couldn’t be happier.”

“Good,
I’m glad.”

“It’s
nice to see everyone smiling and enjoying themselves, although I really do wish
they’d stop trying to sing. They keep getting the words wrong and sound like a
group of howling wolves.” She laughed. “Eligos isn’t singing, but he actually
seems to be enjoying their howls.”

“I
bet
they
think they sound amazing. That’s all that matters,” I laughed.

“So
what’s next for us, Keira?”

“Well,
I’ll be spending time between here and Hell, enjoying every moment of being
married to my baby, and having my friends around me. You’ll be a mom and
raising a beautiful little girl. It’ll be nice.”

“It’s
been a crazy time, hasn’t it?” she said, gazing up at the stars.

“Yes
it has, but look at us all now. It’s been worth it.”

“Yeah
it has. But, if you ever ask me to go on a road trip with you again to seek
people out, I’m saying no.”

We
both laughed and joined the others, dancing under the stars without a care in
the world, and a life filled with happiness to look forward to.

About the Author

I have
lived in Droylsden, Manchester, all my life. I live with my parents and my
younger sister, Cheryl. I never knew what I wanted to do with my life until I
began writing. This is my dream.

I get
most of my inspiration from music, I’ll sit there listening to it and suddenly
I’m no longer in the room. My stories play like videos in my mind, then I go
and write them down.

I’m a
very dark person, I love anything spooky, supernatural, or unexplainable, and
so that’s the genre I want to write in for the rest of my life. I love watching
scary films, although I find it very hard to find one these days that actually
frighten me.
