The warm sensuous love song ended and as they were leaving the dance floor, John leaned into her, “thank you for the wonderful dance Randa.”

“Awwww John, it was all my pleasure. I have never enjoyed dancing with someone so much!”

“I haven’t either. In fact, I actually haven’t danced since I was in high school,” John laughed. “The only reason that I went then was at Fox’s urging because he thought that I needed to be more sociable with females. I certainly don’t remember being this good at it back then though. My dance partner must bring out the best in me,” John said as he winked at her.

Randa laughed, “John, I’ve got to ask, why do you call me Baby Doll?”

John’s face turned red. “To be totally honest, I’m not sure. Within a couple of hours of meeting you that first day, those words just tumbled out of my mouth, but nothing has ever felt more right. They fit you perfectly. Are you okay with that term of endearment?”

“Of course I am. I love it! It is perfect for me.”

They enjoyed more songs and then Boz announced that a special guest would be joining him.

The crowd went wild when Shania Twain stepped up on stage and began singing, “From This Moment.” The dance floor became crowded, not only because everyone wanted to dance to the beautiful song, but they also wanted to see Shania. John and Randa joined the others and sang the lyrics to each other.

John and Randa gazed into each other’s eyes as their hearts beat vivaciously. Boz sang the duet parts with Shania and thrilled the partygoers. She sang a couple of more songs to everyone’s surprise and sheer delight.

Taylor introduced Boz to her friends. Randa confided to him what a big fan she was and the legend accepted her praise graciously. Boz mentioned how much he admired her song writing and that if he got some free time, he would like to write a song with her. Randa was floored and accepted his offer happily. It still surprised and absolutely thrilled Randa when people that she admired professionally for a very long time knew her work and sincerely admired it.

Close to 1:00 a.m., the party ended. Once back at Taylor’s home, Fox and Taylor said their goodnights. Randa led John out onto the patio and they sat down beside the swimming pool. John turned Randa around and pushed her soft silky hair off to the side. He leaned forward and started kissing the nape of her neck. She smiled and closed her eyes taking in the pure pleasure of the feel of his fiery lips on her skin. When he came to the point that he wanted to taste her lips but couldn’t reach them, he spun her around. Kissing her neck and moving upward toward her cheek, he kissed her earlobe letting his warm breath kindle the crackling desire building within her. Grazing the edge of her ear with his lips sent a rawness throughout Randa’s body. She moaned a low growl and pulled his body in closer to hers.

John got swept up in the brazenness of her low sultry moan. Wrapping his long muscular arms tighter around her supple body, he was suddenly overcome with deep longing and he felt a ravenous desire ignite in his tight loins pushing his hunger for Randa into overdrive. John began to kiss her passionately on her slender neck. John made his way up to her face. Running his fingers through her hair, he put his hands on the back of her head and tilted it down slightly as he looked into her beautiful eyes for a moment and then closed his, placing his lips on hers. She kissed him back eagerly and then she let her lips part and she savored the taste of John as he explored her sensuous mouth. The warmth sent chills throughout her body. She inhaled deeply taking in John’s masculine scent mixed with his cologne letting it entice her senses.

John was quickly trying to memorize how it felt to have Randa’s sensuous body pressed against his own. He never wanted to forget the feeling. No matter where he was or what he was doing, he always wanted to be able to fully recall these moments: the softness of her skin, the way her hair felt so silky when it was between his fingers, how comforting it was when she laid her head on his chest, her hands resting on his buff biceps and feeling their strength, the slight curves of her hips, and the contour of her beautiful face.

John had a million thoughts running through his mind.
I want this woman. I want to make love to her, celebrating the exquisiteness of her body and fully reveling in every single sweet nuance of the fine lady that she is. I want to bring her tantalizing pleasure by truly loving every inch of her. I want to hear her cry out my name in ecstasy as I pour my love into her and release her body from the intense state of euphoria that it is immersed in.

However, the only thought that really mattered to John right then was that he was in love with this woman and he wanted her truest and most compelling love before he ravished her stunning body.

John stopped kissing her. Pulling her close and hugging her, he said, “Baby Doll, are you getting tired?”

“Are you kidding? I don’t think that I will ever be tired again! I feel absolutely exhilarated. In fact, I have since the very first day we met.”

John smiled and kissed her on the cheek. “You are one splendid lady.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever been called ‘splendid’ before,” Randa said as she laughed.

“But you are. You are gorgeous and dazzling and majestic and elegant.”

“Thank you very much John, but I think it’s just a glow that being crazy about you has given me. Our time together has been like a fairytale come true. You’ve been the ‘Prince Charming’ that every girl dreams of!”

“This is just me…as real as I can get. There is nothing fake or fictitious about me. I will never lie to you and I will always be true to you. I always stand behind my word, not only in business, but in my personal life as well.”

“I couldn’t ask for more and I appreciate all that you are,” Randa replied.

“I would like to know how we’ve never met before, since Taylor is Fox’s goddaughter.”

“That is a good question. I’m guessing that it’s because Fox would come to Taylor’s house, but she never went out to the ranch. I met Fox the first year that Taylor and I were best friends. He would mention you and your parents occasionally, but not so much that he was revealing a great deal about you. Taylor and I always just regarded you as a good ol’ country boy, but my oh my, who knew that you were one smokin’ hot, yet oh so cool, good-looking and irresistible man?” Randa asked flirtatiously.

“I don’t know about all that,” John remarked.

“I do!”

“Thank you Darlin’. Yeah, they could have at least fixed us up on a blind date.”

Randa laughed, “Taylor knows better. She fixed me up once and it was a total disaster, so I said, ‘never again.’”

“I’ve never had much luck with blind dates either.”

“I’m just thankful that I was with Taylor when she finally met you, otherwise you might have fallen for her.”

John burst out laughing so hard that he couldn’t even speak.

Randa just sat there, not sure what was so funny. Finally, she asked, “Why are you laughing so hard?”

John said, “That is the most ridiculous thing that I have ever heard,” between laughs.

“No, it’s not. Taylor is a world-famous singer and she’s absolutely beautiful.”

“Oh Randa, I’m sorry for all my laughter. I just couldn’t help myself. Yes, Taylor is beautiful, there’s no doubt about that and she is famous, which actually just sounds like one big headache in my opinion, though I’m sure it has its many ‘perks.’”

“Agreed,” Randa said with a smile on her face.

John took her small, soft hand in his, “Listen Baby Doll, you’ve got to understand. I wasn’t looking to meet anyone at that party. I had pretty much given up on that part of my life. When I came down off the Slope this last time, I just wanted to relax and visit with some friends, which is what I was doing. Then lo and behold, I hear the most joyful laugh ever. It was like a melody calling to my heart. At first, I didn’t turn and look. Then I heard it again. It was gentle, but it was also so full of life. I had to see whom it belonged to. I looked over and I saw you. In that very instant I wanted to fall to my knees and thank our God above and his heavens for the precious angel before my eyes. You were the most beautiful woman that I had ever,
ever
laid eyes on. But the word beautiful doesn’t even begin to describe you. Your laughter captured my complete attention. And when we were introduced, you looked into my eyes, my soul melted, and it was as if the rest of the world never existed. I felt like I had ‘come home’ to the person that I am supposed to be with. I know that probably sounds a bit crazy. I can’t say that I have ever believed in love at first sight. Nothing like that has ever happened to me before. That moment you stopped my world in its tracks, ‘our world’ began right then and there. There’s nothing more that I want than to be with my best friend, my lover, my playmate, my soul mate, my companion, my partner in crime, and I believe that person is you.”

John stopped talking. Randa was looking at him with her bright, smiling eyes. “John,” she began before he interrupted.

“I was just sharing my deepest feelings with you. I know that it may have been too much at this point in our relationship, but I’ve been about to explode in happiness. You don’t have to say a word. Let me walk you up to your room, okay?’

“Okay,” Randa replied and leaned over and kissed John on the lips. At first softly and then with a vigor that surprised him and yet it didn’t. Randa was turning out to be everything that he imagined and so much more. He could feel the electrifying glitter in her veins. Finally stopping, she stood up and led the way to her bedroom. When they reached the door, they both reached out to each other.

“Good night Randa and sweet dreams,” John said, kissing her sweetly.

Randa replied, “Good night my love. Rest well.” Blowing a kiss to him, she walked into her bedroom and closed the door.

John went to his room and took off his clothes. Pulling back the covers, he got under them and lay down. Closing his eyes, he marveled at the events of the past week, wondering how things could get any better.

The weekend ended with everyone promising to get together again soon. Hugs were exchanged and Randa drove John and Fox to the airport to catch their flight home. Randa had a couple of more days of work in Nashville to finish up before she would be returning to Oklahoma. She and John didn’t want to leave each other. John only did so with the assurance from Randa that she would see him as soon as she could after she got back to Oklahoma.

“Have a very safe trip Sweetheart. I couldn’t bear for anything to happen to you now when it has taken me this long to find you,” Randa told John.

“Of course I will Baby Doll. I will see you soon,” John told her as he gave her a quick kiss and made his way to security. As he was about to enter the body scanner, he turned and looked. She was still standing there watching him with her glistening eyes. He smiled at her. She lifted her right hand, placed her fingers to her mouth, and blew him a kiss. He waved as she turned and walked toward the exit.

Randa stood solemnly still for a moment to collect her thoughts.
I don’t think that I can feel one more ounce of love for this man. I am so full of love for him. It feels so good to be loved by him. I never want to be without this man…next to me, interacting with me, close to me, in my space, in my life, in my heart, in my soul, in my eyes with his wonderful smile and amazing love being bestowed on me.

Returning to Taylor’s house to pick up her things, she was about to burst with bliss as she walked through the door. She and Taylor had not had a chance to discuss the weekend yet.

“Oh my goodness, I am in love for the very first time in my life,” Randa said excitedly.

“How do you know?” Taylor asked her, giggling.

“Trust me, I just know.”

“I am soooo happy for you Randa! You know, for so long I always felt a little bad for you because you never got to feel real love. Sure, you had crushes, but the real thing, nah, and I could tell just as you could. But now, I have seen you come alive in a way that I didn’t even know was possible.”

“I know,” Randa remarked. “It is the best feeling in the world. I always knew that it would be indescribable. But do you know what the very best thing is?”

“What?” Taylor asked.

“John!” Randa said, almost yelling. “He is not only one of the hottest men that I’ve ever been around, but he is also so sweet and such a gentleman too. He’s smart and fun and affectionate and loving. But do you know what the best part about him is?”

“No. What?” Taylor asked again.

“He is absolutely crazy about me!”

“I know!” Taylor laughed. “Fox knows! Anyone who has seen you two together knows that you are both madly in love.”

“You guys could tell?” Randa asked.

Taylor burst out laughing. “Of course we could! Randa, you’ve seen couples before that look perfect together and you can just tell that they are in love.”

“I have,” Randa said nodding her head.

“Well, you and John are one of those couples. You have that undeniable chemistry. Those sparks. That connection. Many times, it’s as if the entire world was to disappear, it wouldn’t make one bit of difference. You two wouldn’t even notice, since you’re so caught up in each other.”

Randa blushed.

“Be grateful. That’s the kind of love that most people seek, but very few find,” Taylor advised her.

“Oh I am, believe me. You know how long I have been waiting,” she smiled, “and how I would never ever settle. It’s just like in my song, ‘Hitching.’ I’ve been searching for so long. I knew that I simply just had to believe, that was all. Well that and to be extremely patient.”

“I wonder what kind of a song is going to come out of this,” Taylor remarked.

“Guess you’ll just have to wait and see, won’t you?” Randa giggled.

“Of course, as always. Now I have to go and start getting everything wrapped up, so I can get back to Oklahoma. I’ve got a very hot date when I get there!” Randa said smiling as she strolled out the front door.

Chapter Fourteen

John was beyond excited to see Randa again at the end of the week. She was a constant on his mind. He would close his eyes at night and her very essence seemed to be with him. He remembered her scent and how her lips felt. He was looking forward to learning and discovering new things about this amazing woman. He longed to make love to her, but their conversation the previous evening set the pace.
