“John, there’s something that I would like to ask of you.”

“Of course. Anything.”

“I would like for us to wait for a while to make love.”

A slow, knowing smiled crossed John’s face, though Randa couldn’t see it since they were talking via telephone.

“John?” Randa asked when there was no response.

“Oh, absolutely Randa. Whatever you would like to do is good with me. Within reason, that is,” John said chuckling.

“It’s just that…..”

John interrupted, “No need to explain Baby Doll. I wouldn’t have expected anything less from you.”

Randa blew John a kiss through the phone. “Thanks so much for understanding. I will know when the time is right.”

“How will I know when the time is right?” John asked.

Randa laughed, “Trust me. You will know.”

John insisted on driving in from the ranch and picking Randa up from the airport in Tulsa. After gathering her bags, they walked to his truck. Unlocking the doors, John put her bags in the back seat. Then he opened the front passenger door and she climbed in. Even though Randa was long-legged, she had to use the step, since the truck was a four-wheel drive and sat up higher than a regular pickup. John leaned in toward her. “I have missed you so much.”

“Mmmmm…..I missed you very much too,” Randa said as she leaned in and gave him a huge hug and held him tight. John leaned back and took her perfectly shaped face into his hands. He looked deeply into her sparkling eyes. Randa became nervous and consequently her heart started beating wildly. She had no idea what was about to happen or be said. She waited, but he just kept looking at her and smiling widely. “You know, many have said that the eyes are the windows to the soul,” Randa finally said in almost a whisper.

“Yes, I know,” John said smoothly. “And I believe that I am seeing your beautiful, amazing soul and all of its radiance.”

Randa blushed and looked down. When she looked back up, their eyes met.

John spoke, “I love you Randa.”

She exhaled, “Oh my goodness! I can’t believe you said that.”

“Why not?”

“Meeting you has been like a dream come true and now to hear you say those words to me. I have waited so long for you to come into my life.”

John kissed her softly on the lips. “This is a dream come true for both of us and it’s as real as real can get.”

Randa nodded in agreement.

“Why were you so nervous?” John asked.

“Because when you were looking into my eyes for so long, I felt exposed, like you could see all of my feelings and wishes and desires.”

“Is that such a bad thing? Do you have something to hide?” John asked playfully.

Randa laughed, “Of course not, it’s just that no one has ever looked that deeply before.” Tears began to stream down her face as she was smiling brightly.

“Why are you crying Randa?”

“The true meaning of what you said just really hit me. I know that those words mean a lot of the same things to you that they do to me and that gives me such a wonderful, joyous, and comfortable feeling.”

“I can tell you this much, I will go to the ends of the earth for you, Randa. That’s only one small part of what truly loving someone means to me,” John said. “And oh, I know it’s not the most romantic place that I could have told you, but I just couldn’t wait any longer. I have wanted to tell you all week, but I didn’t want to on the telephone. I wanted to see your face and look into your eyes when I did.”

“Oh John! I love you!” Randa said to him.

“You do?”

“Yes, I do and I am so happy. I have never ever felt like this before in my life. There’s just no way to describe it.”

“Well, I am here now and I don’t ever want to be without you.”

“You won’t ever have to be.”

The days flew by as the couple spent time together cooking, riding horses, dancing on the back patio, watching sunsets and even a few sunrises together. It was their last evening together on the ranch and John suggested that they turn in early and get a good night’s rest since Randa’s flight for Nashville departed at 6:00 a.m. the next morning and his for Anchorage soon after.

They had each taken their showers and wandered onto the back patio Randa wearing her spaghetti strap satin nightgown and John clad only in pajama pants.

“I feel better now.”

“Yeah, there’s nothing like gettin’ dirty on the ranch. What can I say though? I think that it’s been another wonderful time spent with you.”

“I fully agree. It’s hard to believe that just three weeks ago, you were just a fancy who has lived in my heart for so many years.”

“Baby Doll, you were definitely the last thing that I expected on this trip home from the North Slope.” John walked over to Randa and took her hand in his.

“You know John, I love your hands.”

“You do?”

“Yes, I do. They certainly aren’t soft and they have calluses, but they are what I call, ‘a man’s hands.’ They are large and mine are small, so when you take mine into yours it feels as if, yours are encompassing mine and keeping them and in essence me, safe.”

“Well, I don’t know whether to take that as a compliment, but it thrills me that they make you feel safe. I love being a man and I always want you to feel that I am capable of fulfilling my role in our relationship.” Inside, John was a little unsure where those words came from, but he accepted them as his own.

“Thank you for that,” Randa said as she leaned over and gave John a light kiss on the lips.

He looked down at Randa’s toes. Making his way up, he stopped at the spot where the hem of Randa’s gown was on the middle of her thighs. Its turquoise color set off the nice tan that Randa donned. John could only imagine what sweetness lie underneath, but he had given his word, that he wouldn’t initiate making love until she was ready. It was about to get the best of him though. His eyes traveled further up, to the point that the fabric gathered at Randa’s waist. His eyes paused there. He didn’t want to look any further up, because he simply didn’t know if he could handle more.

“I’m sorry if this gown is making things difficult for you John.”

John’s eyes didn’t look at hers. They simply moved up to the curves of her full breasts. He could see their outlines against the fabric. He was beginning to imagine just what it would feel like to touch them and to kiss them. Then his fantasy was interrupted.

“It hasn’t been any easier for me. I promise.”

John looked up at Randa and into her eyes. He could feel her absolute and true love for him.

John grabbed her hand and led her to her bedroom. He gave Randa one of the longest and most ravishing kisses that she ever received.

“Goodnight Randa. I love you. Sleep well.”

“Goodnight John. I love you.” Was all Randa could get out before John had reached his bedroom and closed the door behind him.

The next morning Fox drove the couple to the airport. As they were saying good-bye to each other, John began to apologize for ending the previous evening abruptly. “I didn’t mean to be rude. I was to the point of being overwhelmed with my desire for you. I have never wanted anything so badly, but I respect your wishes and I will wait for you to be ready.”

“I believe that the wait will be worth it.”

“I know it will be,” John said.

Randa turned and entered the secure area. John stood and waited. When she got to the point that John would be out of her sight of vision, she turned and saw him looking her. She blew a kiss to him and smiled. He winked back and mouthed, “I love you” to her.

Chapter Fifteen

Randa loved snow and cold weather. It was her first trip to Alaska and she was counting the hours until her plane departed for Anchorage, just as John was counting the hours until her plane landed and she would be back in his arms.

Their reunion at Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage was just as exciting as their previous get-togethers. John was always thrilled to see his lady, with her dazzling smile and long sexy legs, strolling toward him and practically jumping into his arms.

“Hi Baby Doll! I missed you so much,” John whispered into her ear as he wrapped his arms around her.

“I couldn’t wait to see you.”

“We’ve only been apart six days,” John said, teasing her.

“Six days is too many when it comes to being with the man I love, but I’ll take whatever I can get!”

“Me too and I couldn’t agree more.”

“We seem to keep meeting in airports, don’t we?” Randa asked as she laughed.

“I’ll meet you any place you would like Darlin’.”

They are staying in the corporate apartment, which has three bedrooms. John gets Randa settled into hers.

“Let’s go out to dinner and we’ll make it an early night. I know you’ve had a long day of flying.”

“That sounds perfect John.”

Dining on fresh salmon that evening, John and Randa relished their time together. It was still blowing John away that this amazing lady was single.

She interrupted his thoughts. “Do you believe in destiny or fate John?”

“Well, I do believe that certain things are meant to happen and will happen if they are ‘supposed to.’”

“How do you feel about it Randa?” John asked.

“I do believe in fate and destiny and yet, I also believe that we each have control over our lives and the outcomes. I know it’s kind of an ‘on the fence’ answer, but I think that anything is possible.”

“Ahhhh. I love your answer Randa. Now can I ask you something?”

“Of course.”

“By now you know that I have listened to all of the songs that you wrote the lyrics to multiple times.”

Randa blushed.

“I’ve become a huge fan by the way.”

“Thank you.”

“How do you know so much about love Baby Doll, especially when you haven’t been deeply ‘in love’ before?”

“I just do and I just always have. It’s just the essence of who I am.”

John smiled at her answer and he was still smiling later that evening when she fell asleep with her head on his chest while they were sitting on the leather sofa watching a movie.

The next day John had a full day planned for them. Sightseeing, the couple learned from their guide how Anchorage grew from a railroad tent town in the early 1900’s to a thriving city and a major anchor in the North. Anchorage had a fascinating history, much of which John wasn’t aware. He was enjoying learning it along with Randa. She was an eager listener. Afterward, even though John wasn’t a big fan of shopping, he was patient as Randa browsed in the local shops and picked out a few souvenirs to take home with her.

They got back to the apartment late that night after an exhilarating day together.

John was putting on his pajama pants when there was a soft knock on his bedroom door. Opening it, Randa stood before him. She said nothing.

“Randa?” he asked.

She didn’t have to say a word. He took her soft, warm hand into his and led her inside. Once inside, he looked at her. She looked back at him with so much love in her eyes. He could almost feel it rushing instantaneously to his wildly beating heart. Gently touching her cheek, he began to glide his fingers down her left jaw line. John silently marveled at the perfection of her facial features and how they all came together to form a remarkably beautiful face. Reaching Randa’s chin, he felt its curve and his fingers moved down her neck as she closed her eyes and tilted her head back. John couldn’t resist any longer. He brushed her glossy hair away from her neck. Leaning in, he began to kiss it with such vigor that he felt like a man ravenous for just the very touch of her skin to be on his lips. Randa put her arms around John and ran her fingers through his hair pulling the rest of him in close to her. Her body was aching for the man she that loved and it yearned for his touch. Sensing that her desire was growing as rapidly as his was, John stopped kissing her, which got her full attention. All that could be heard was their rapid breathing, which began to slow a bit, though their heartbeats were pounding loudly.

John unbuttoned the top button of her blouse. As it opened slightly, John felt Randa inhale deeply in anticipation of his touch. Reaching for the next button, John’s right hand slightly grazed the fabric of her satin bra. Randa deliberately bit her lip, but a low, provocative moan escaped anyway. John looked up at her and smiled. He then reached into her blouse and rubbed his hand across her bra just to hear her moan again. A sultry look crossed her face because she knew what he was doing. John did not like being a tease and he was only playing, but he truly enjoyed making his girl feel good.

Pausing, John told her, “Randa, you are the most amazing and beautiful woman on this Earth. I have fallen so deeply in love with you. And I am so thankful every single day for your very existence.”

“Oh John,” Randa murmurs. “Thank you. You make me feel so beautiful.”

“You truly are,” John said as he unbuttoned the remaining buttons and her blouse fell open, revealing the alluring curves of her breasts. Pushing Randa’s blouse off her shoulders, he cupped her breasts in both of his hands kissing them through the red satin. Kissing her bare skin where her breasts met in the middle, John pushed her breasts together and buried his lips and nose into her cleavage, snuggling its sensuous lusciousness. Randa slightly arched her back and welcomed John’s hot, hungry mouth. His whiskers had only a tiny bit of growth, but the friction they were creating when they touched Randa’s skin was making her chest heave in desire. She never wanted the sensation to stop. When John guessed that Randa was ready for something more, he drew back and gave her a moment to catch her breath. Then he began to softly lick the area where his facial hair had nuzzled her skin. His tongue was gentle and he loved to taste the oils from her skin. John had been able to maintain control so far, but he was quickly losing that ability. He felt heat and untamed desire rise in his loins like never before.

Moving over to Randa’s right breast, he started licking the center of it through her bra, but that wasn’t nearly enough for him. He began to suck on it. Randa moaned loudly as the fabric was getting wetter and wetter and was rubbing against her breast. Finally unable to ignore his desire any longer, John opened the front hook. Seeing Randa’s full breasts burst forth out of her bra grabbed John’s full attention. He took in the visual delight of their raw titillating presence. He reached out and touched them as though he never had touched anything so delightful before.
