Matt

S
am squeezes
me tighter than ever before, the tears in her eyes saying it all. “I can’t believe it! Getting married? And having a baby? Oh my god Matt!”

“Hey congratulations man. You deserve it.” James claps me on the back, squeezing my shoulder. “I can’t believe there’s going to be a Matt Jr. running around here before long.”

“Could be a Falyn Jr.,” Falyn pipes in, hugging James next. “We’ll find out what we’re having next month.”

Sam’s eyes go wide. “Wow, already? That was quick!”

Me and Falyn both burst out laughing. “Yeah. I’m not the best at keeping track of my cycles, so I didn’t actually find out until I was already ten weeks along. I was pretty stressed out so it was kind of hard to tell. So I’m fifteen weeks right now. Four more weeks and we’ll go in for the ultrasound.”

My sister shakes her head in awe. “This is so nuts. What are you planning on doing about the wedding?”

I take this one. “We’ve decided to hang on and wait for that. Until after the baby is born and all. Neither of us really want a big wedding, so there’s no pressure. In the meantime, Falyn wants to move into my apartment.”

“It’ll give us a little more privacy, and we won’t have to deal with the elevators and all that,” she chimes in, rubbing her growing belly. “Eventually we’ll look for a bigger one that still has space for Matt’s studio. And more than one bedroom of course.”

Sam heads into the kitchen and comes back with beers for us, and a bottle of water for Falyn. “To baby Walsh and new beginnings!” she cheers, and we all clink bottles.

“To baby Walsh and new beginnings!”

I
pull
him up onto my lap, unsure of how to tell him about the news. “Hey buddy. Did you have a good day at school?”

When Liam smiles I notice that his two front teeth are finally almost completely grown in. I can’t believe how big he’s getting already. “Yep. We’re learning about space right now. It’s really big, in case you didn’t know.”

I smile and scruff up his hair, laughing at the way he giggles. “That’s cool buddy. Can we talk about something real quick?”

Liam already knows the drill, he’s a smart kid especially with all the crap he’s had to deal with his whole life. “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing’s wrong buddy, believe me. In fact everything is going really well. So you know how I really like Falyn, right?”

He nods. “You love her, don’t you?”

Man, this kid doesn’t miss anything does he? “You’re right. I do love her. I love her so much that me and her are actually getting married. What do you think about that?”

Liam shrugs, and pushes the mop of hair out of his face. “I think it’s okay if you marry Falyn. I like her a lot.”

Behind me, Falyn laughs. “That’s sweet Liam. I really like you back.”

I glance behind my shoulder and smile at my fiancée, still shocked that I can even call her that. “It’s hard not to.”

I turn back to Liam and pat his knee. “But that’s not all, buddy.” I really shouldn’t be this nervous talking to my six year-old brother, but my palms are clammy. “Me and uh, Falyn found out that we’re going to have a baby.”

At this Liam hops up, completely startled. “You have a baby? Like a real baby and not from the store baby? Where you gonna put the baby?”

Falyn snickers again and I try so damn hard to keep it together. It seems like we got a lot to learn when it comes to parenting. “That’s a good question. We’ll put the baby in the crib I guess... You think that’ll work?”

Liam thinks to himself for a second, scratching his chin for full effect. “Yeah, I guess so. But then when the baby’s really big you’ll have to put it in its own bed. Not a baby crib. Because that’s what happens when a baby becomes a big kid. They get their own bed like I did. And you’ll have to give it lots of stuffed animals to sleep with too, that way the baby won’t be scared of the closet monster.”

I pull Liam against me, totally happy in knowing that he’s unfazed. After what we’ve all been through with his pathetic excuse for a father, I’m thankful that he’s so laid back about everything in life.

Falyn gets up and joins the little hug circle too, placing a kiss on Liam’s head. “I’m really glad that you’re happy for us Liam. You know that means you’re gonna be an uncle, right?”

Liam’s scrunches up his eyes, curious. “What does an uncle do?”

“Uncles take care of their nieces and nephews,” I reply, looking him in the eye. “It’s kind of like what big brothers do. You just have to make sure that you’re always there for your niece or nephew. Let them know that they can count on you no matter what. That’s all you gotta do.”

F
alyn finishes brushing
her teeth and climbs into bed with me, snuggling in tightly against my chest. You know I never would’ve guessed I’d be one of those guys who wants to spoon my future-wife, yet here I am. I hate not being close to her when we sleep, even though she has
loudly
announced several times that she needs space.

I gently trace the edges of her jaw, wondering what our baby might look like. Who it might favor more, and which parts of the other it might end up with. If we’re lucky, it would look exactly like Falyn—but be just as charming as me, of course.

But that’s not all I think about, and it’s not something I really want to say in front of Falyn. My past issues with my own father and especially my stepfather make it hard for me to feel completely confident in my parenting abilities. I don’t know if I’m ever going be the perfect kind of dad, or if one even exists, but I do know one thing. I will try my absolute fucking best to be the kind of dad that my kids can depend on at least. There will never be a time in my child’s life when he or she wonders where I’m at all the time. What I’m doing, and who I’m doing it with. No all-nighters, no bringing back druggies, no getting locked up for the rest of my life. Nope, I most definitely will not be like my father or Donald.

“D’you think l’ll make a good mom? I mean… Without having really known my own?” Falyn asks me, her voice low and thoughtful. I can’t help but chuckle. I guess great minds really do think alike.

“Are you crazy? Of course you’ll make a great mom. There are plenty of women out there who had to grow up without their mom for one reason or another and they turned out just fine. What makes you think you’ll be any different?”

She sighs, her warm breath tickling my chest hair. “I don’t know. I guess growing this kid inside of me gives me a lot of time to think about things. And I just hope that I’d don’t screw this baby up in the end. I want to know that I did the best job I could once they’re grown. You know what I mean?”

I stroke her shoulder, looking down at the way her belly is just starting to poke out more behind her belly button. “You have no idea.” It’s in this moment that I realize that no matter what, me and Falyn will always been on the same page. And it makes the upcoming journey that much more satisfying.

F
alyn’s hand
trails down my side until she’s rubbing my thigh without being too subtle. Well, it makes the journey
almost
as satisfying as the current increase of her libido. I think I finally get why guys are into pregnant chicks so much…

This time like so many before it, I take the time to make her feel good, and make her writhe under me desperately begging me. God, I love when she begs. She doesn’t have to but something about the way her breath hitches when she cries out my name while I’m licking her pussy… it’s enough to make me lose my load right there.

When I turn her over and slam home, I’m reminded of the first time we met. How I made the assumption that Falyn was just some overworked and underplayed girl, a spoiled princess. That she’d never had the right guy between her knees and that she was a prude through and through.

I was wrong, but I would never take it back, especially looking at her now. The way her shapely ass jiggles when I smack it. How her back arches with each thrust.

Nah, I’d never take back being the asshole. But I’m glad I’m a hell of a lot more than that to her now.

T
he early-morning
light is just beginning to filter into the room. I know I should be sleeping but the little flutters and pops in my belly are too much fun—it makes it impossible to simply go back to sleep. It’s the last night in my penthouse and my anxiety is being replaced by a nervous excitement. Even when I was with Raymond we never moved in together. So I guess this will be a completely new experience for me all the way around.

I carefully make my way back from the bathroom, trying not to run my toe into any more boxes lying around again. I can’t believe how many times I’ve had to go pee in the past twelve hours alone. And I’m not even at the huge part of the pregnancy yet.

Crawling back into bed is not as easy as it once was, and I make a mental note to get one of those weird yet comfy-looking body pillows from the Babies R’ Us.

Matt’s got the sheet tangled around his thighs, but luckily for me the rest of his sexy backside is in full view. He’s rolled onto his stomach, his hair a mess of long tangles spread out on the pillow. I’d kill for hair that soft. I don’t know why men have such soft and silky hair when they let it grow out. I have to actually work for mine.

His arm twitches but he remains completely knocked out. I love being able to look at him like this… without having to explain myself to him or anyone else. The scars on his back are barely visible, but I can clearly see the lines of muscle lying flat across his back and shoulders. Power at rest, I guess you could say.

Then of course there’s his ass. The nicest ass I’ve seen anywhere. Muscular, but still soft in a way that leads me to constantly putting my hands in his back pockets and squeezing. It’s hard to believe that’s the ass of someone’s dad.

For reasons unknown to me, I start giggling at the very thought. Even with the baby growing bigger inside me every day, it’s unfathomable to think that Matt and I are getting ready to be parents.

Matt starts to stir and rolls to his side facing me. I brush a piece of hair away from his scruffy beard and lean in to kiss him. It’s like he comes alive in my hands, his mouth parting and inviting me in, his hands grabbing me and pulling me closer. Despite it being six o’clock in the morning we’re both apparently wide awake.

I reach down between us and lightly stroke his cock, willing it to its full potential. I bite my lip as he grows harder, hotter in my hands. My own breath is hitched as Matt groans against the top of my head.

Months ago I walked up to this man’s house, and all he said was ‘You’re late, princess.’ And now here we are, getting ready to move my things into his apartment today. Then a baby. Then a marriage. Life has a funny way of giving you what you didn’t know you needed.

I squeal when he rolls over top of me, careful to not put any of his weight on me. He pulls my underwear to the side and slides his fingers inside of me, getting me ready. I suck in a breath and roll my hips as he plunges them in and out. His fingers feel great, but are nothing compared to the feeling of his cock parting my folds. The moan is loud and getting louder as Matt pushes himself deep inside me, the fullness of him feeling like both Heaven and Earth. Paradise and home all in one.

Nothing could be better than this. No one could make me feel this good.

“You’re so beautiful,” he whispers.

“Dirtier,” I demand, my voice hoarse.

Matt sits backs on his legs before spreading my legs as wide as they will go and plunging in with abandon. “You like it when I fuck your sweet, tight pussy, don’t you princess?”

I whimper in response, the hot coiling beginning in my groin already. Yes, this is exactly what I need.

“That’s right—take this huge cock. Tell me what you want, baby.”

“I want you to fuck me! Harder!” I manage while fisting the bedsheets in my hands. “Faster! Ungh, yes, right there!”

“Harder like this?” he roars, fucking me so hard I’m sure the headboard will crack from smacking against the wall so much.

“Yes!” I scream.

“Faster like this?” And he picks up the pace until I’m literally bouncing up and down on my bed. He’s relentless, willing to let it all go and not worry about being too rough. I fucking love it.

I love him.

After, when we’re still lying in bed and covered in sweat, Matt turns to face me.

“Can we please do that forever? I mean… I know people tend to have less sex after kids and all, but could we please make a conscious effort to try? I don’t think I can go any more days without being inside of you anymore.”

He says this and really it’s like he’s whispering ‘I need you,’ loud and clear.

I smile at him and nod. “You better believe it. It feels like the world is going to end when you’re far away… So for the sake of humankind we should probably just stick together.”

Matt lowers his hand to my belly, softly cupping it. “Together.”

Just then, the baby kicks and Matt’s eyes are the size of plates. “Was that…?”

I take his hand and move it to the other side, hoping the baby will kick again. When it does we both laugh, Matt in complete awe.

“Unbelievable,” he whispers, leaning down to kiss my skin right where his hand was. “I get all the hype now. Babies… who would’ve thought?”

I playfully push at his shoulder. “Literally everyone.”

And in the quiet moments before we get up to start the moving process, I take a quick stock of my life.

Head CEO title? Nope.

That fancy new Rolls Royce I’ve been dying to get? Nope.

New corner office at the top of Morrissey Regent, Incorporated? No way.

Happiness? Check.

Self-confidence? Check.

Matt? Check.

Yep. It looks like I’ve finally got my priorities straight.
