Oh my God.

Swatting his hand away, I giggle, then head off to my room before I crumble again.

Chapter 13

Tiramisu – ‘Pick me up’

I walk into my room, and it feels strange. Almost unfamiliar. I was only in here a short time yesterday, so I’m thankful I unpacked, and that I know where to find everything. On the freshly changed bed sheets, I notice a small box sitting on my pillow wrapped in silver paper with a blue iris flower perched on top, and a note propped up against it. Confused, I walk over to the bed, sit down, pick it up, and open the card…

Blue Orchid. Virilità, della fertilità e della sessualità. Yin e Yang – la bellezza e la forza

The Blue Orchid. Virility, fertility and sexuality. Yin and Yang – beauty and strength.

I have never felt lust like this; I want to keep you safe forever. X

I smile, thinking of the blue orchid flower he placed in my hair. I open the box to reveal a very expensive, designer looking red leather box with a gold clasp on the front. Surprised, I open it to reveal an elegant, Cartier, ballon bleu pave, diamond watch. The watch is white gold, completely paved in iridescent diamonds with a classy, dark-blue hand on the sophisticated dial .There is a description card which states it is an 18-carat diamond set watch in an 18-carat white gold casing.

What the fuck?

I lift it out of the box and stare at it, softly trailing my fingers across its beauty. I can’t accept this. It’s a ridiculous gift, to exquisite to waste on me. What is he thinking buying something like this? I put it neatly in its expensive box.

I pull a black fitted shift dress out of the wardrobe in the arch and a little black and silver belt, leaving them on the bed. I put a pale-pink lace panties and bra set on, then walk over to the ensuite where I start to apply my makeup. My hair is still in its shaggy bun on top of my head from the bath. I stand for a moment and look at myself in the mirror. My eyes are glowing, bright, wide and alive from my lovemaking, but my body is dull, scratched, cut and bruised. I look a sight. I close my eyes and think of the last twenty-four hours.

What on earth has gotten into me?

I’m swollen and almost numb almost down below, but I’m definitely not telling Lucca. He’ll freak out and then I won’t get any more attention down there. I feel two hands snake around my waist, traveling up towards my breasts. I know its Lucca. It’s his scent I smell. It’s his touch I’ve become accustomed to.

I open my eyes and see his lustful eyes taking me in. “My God, you are beautiful.” I blush and look down, but he lifts my chin and twirls me around, wrapping his hands around the small of my back. “I thought I told you not to do that.” He sounds irate. “Lexi, you look amazing baby. I don’t want to go to dinner. I want to stay here and make love to you again.”

I can feel his erection pressing against me. I look at him in the mirror; he looks handsome as hell in a body hugging, pale-grey designer shirt, tailored black trousers and an expensive looking belt. He looks sophisticated, sexy, smart...and he has his arms around me.

“Lucca, about the watch...I can’t accept it,” I stammer out pathetically.

He looks hurt. “Lexi, I picked this for you. I want you to have this. Please, don’t reject it. I need to give you this. When I saw you lying on the concrete last night, it was my worst nightmare. I really need you to wear this.”

“Why? You don’t have to give me anything. You’ve already given me enough. You’ve been caring, kind, understanding, and ignored my insecurities. I’ve not let anyone do that before. Ever.”

“WHAT THE FUCK? JESUS CHRIST, LEXI! HAVE YOU SEEN THIS?” Hazel screams from the bedroom.

“She’s vocal, and she has a colourful vocabulary,” Lucca says and I burst into laughter. I walk over to the door and open it. Hazel is standing next to the bed with the watch in her hand.

“Do you know how much these things cost?” she screeches.

“I don’t know, but I’m not keeping it,” I say. I hear footsteps behind me.

“What do you mean you’re not keeping it? You bloody well are.” Lucca sounds mad and is gripping his forehead with his middle finger and thumb. “Hi, Hazel,” Lucca mumbles under his furious breath.

“Lucca, sorry. I didn’t know you were in there,” Hazel replies.

“Why won’t you accept this gift? It’s for you, and I want you to have it.” He’s angry.

“It’s beautiful, but it’s far too expensive, so I’m not accepting it. You must return it,” I demand, feeling pressure from both Hazel and Lucca.

“No, I want you to wear it, and I won’t take no for an answer,” he retorts.

We argue like this back and forth while Hazel sprawls herself on the chaise lounge grinning like a Cheshire cat from ear to ear. Bloody bitch thinks it’s amusing.

“How did you even get it? We’ve been together all day,” I ask curiously.

“When I made my calls, I had Marco go and pick it up from a store in Florence. I know the manager there.” I shake my head, but don’t bother to ask any more questions.

“Hazel, your hair. It’s straight! You look lovely, and your outfit is matching,” I say sarcastically, trying to change the subject.

“Cheeky bitch, but thanks. I had a little present of my own sitting on my pillow,” she adds, running her hands down her poker straight hair. I turn and look at Lucca confused. He grins and shrugs his shoulder. “Lucca I know you left them, so thank you very much, I appreciate it. I wouldn’t have coped with frizzy hair for two weeks.” Hazel smiles at Lucca, kisses his cheek, then slouches down again.

What, so they’re best friends now?

I get my dress and wiggle into it before Lucca’s burning hungry gaze. I spray some perfume, apply my new lip-gloss and undo my messy bun, allowing my hair to tumble freely down my back. They both stare at me as I unravel my soft wavy locks.

“Lexi, you are a lucky girl. Your hair is amazing! I’m so jealous,” Hazel says. For the first time in my life, I agree. I am lucky.

“You look beautiful, girls,” Lucca says, taking my hand. We begin to walk out of the room.

“Oh wait, my pill.” I take two pills with some water and put my gloss, pills and mobile in my black, suede, clutch bag to take downstairs to dinner. Lucca holds my wrist. “Please, Doc. I want you to wear the watch. You’ll offend me if you don’t.”

“Why did you buy me an expensive watch? You didn’t need to. Please, don’t spend your money on me.”

“I notice you don’t wear a watch, and when I saw you in the clinic you told me you don’t have one. Now put it on and stop arguing with me.” He slides the watch over my wrist. It’s cold touching my skin. “Qualcosa di special… something special” he adds, and it truly is something special. It’s beautiful, glistening and fits my wrist perfectly. I can’t stop staring at it.

“Thank you. I love it. You’re right, it is something very special,” I whisper as I kiss his lips.

Fuck!

File E for extravagance. Extravagant gift I need to explain to Mom, Granny and Grandpa.

When we arrive downstairs, I can hear the romantic Italian music playing from the lounge area. It makes me blush thinking about this afternoons antics in the bathtub. Lucca has a tight grasp of my hand. We walk in and hear everyone chatting and laughing in conversation. The room stills and everyone is quiet, turning to look at me. Smiling, they come over to greet us.

Ground please open up now. How mortifying.

I’m the centre of attention, and it is really the last place I want to be. I lower my head with embarrassment, but Lucca lifts it back up and puts his arm around me.

“Lexi bella ragazza, you look much better. Did I not tell you Lucca would take good care of you?” Sofia kisses me on both cheeks and holds my hand. She smiles down at the watch. “Such beauty for a beautiful girl.” She must have known about this, and she seems delighted with my new gift.

“Sofia, I want to thank you for everything you’ve done, and to apologize again for last night. I’m very sorry.” I half-smile with my apprehensive timid look.

“Don’t be silly. No need to apologize. We’re here to look after you,” Sofia adds. She kisses Lucca and whispers something in Italian into his ear. He nods and smiles at her.

Franco kisses me on both cheeks, then hugs me tightly. “Thank goodness you are better, bella. You had us worried,” Franco adds with concern. Franco asks if we would like a glass of Processco, but I politely refuse as I’ve had my fill of expensive fizz.

I make my way over to Pippa and Laurence who look happy to see me. Pippa gives me a hug and tells me she hopes I’m okay and feeling better. She tells me how she joined Hazel’s cooking lesson today, and they had a fantastic afternoon. “If I’m honest, Lexi, it was delightful to have some female company for a while today. Laurence had emails to catch up on for work. I love him, but it’s healthy to have a little time out sometimes.”

I’m introduced to Maria, and her daughter Allegra who also works here, a young girl, perhaps in her late teens. Lucca is in deep conversation with Hazel, and I’m getting slightly anxious as I don’t want him probing her for information about me, but then I trust her not to say anything too personal.

Two other guests arrive; the mother and daughter who had been sightseeing. We are introduced to Bridget, and her daughter Nuala. They have thick northern Irish accents. I chat with them and discover they are from Belfast. I notice they have a ‘singsongy’ tone when they talk, raising their voices at the end of every sentence with a deep grizzle at the back of their throats. I dread to think what they make of our Scottish accents.

Hazel and Lucca seem to be hitting it off. He has definitely charmed her, and I’m pleased. I want them to get along if I’m to get to know him better. I notice he has rolled the cuffs and sleeves of his shirt up, so his tanned toned lower arms are exposed. He has one hand in his pocket, the other holding his water, and he is breathtaking. It makes me blush looking up at him, thinking he has been mine for a night and a day. He stares at me fondly with a huge sexy smile on his face.

Lucca strides over to me, wraps his arms around my waist and kisses the side of my head. We excuse ourselves, letting Hazel and Nuala catch up. Lucca takes my hand and leads me through the villa, to the open French doors in the archway, taking me outside. I notice the dining area on the terrace has been set for dinner with crisp white linen table covers, navy and cream damask napkins, silver cutlery and beautiful fresh flowers and candles lining up the middle of the table. It is absolutely beautiful with the sun setting in the background and views of green and red landscape.

He walks me around to the corner of the villa where there is a huge bench scattered with cushions, facing out onto the beautiful countryside and sitting next to a romantic looking sculpted water fountain. The sun is setting, and it’s extremely picturesque. The warm, earthy colours of the sky skimming across the luscious weaving wild greens.

We sit together on the bench, and I watch the water flowing from the stone statue; the sound of the water is soothing. Lucca wraps his arm around me, caressing my hair with his other arm, and lifts up my wrist, rubbing his thumb across the weighted diamond watch.

He leans over and pulls my face into his, one hand on my cheek, the other behind my head. He kisses me slowly and stops to look into my eyes which speeds my pulse up and wakes the butterflies again. I open my mouth, giving him full access, and he sucks my tongue, groaning into my mouth, circling, licking and thrashing his wet tongue with mine. It is divine. I move my head back, exposing my neck as he kisses beneath my ear, and continues with slow soft kisses on my neck, leaving me moaning.

“Do you like that?” he seductively says.

“Mmmmm,” I mumble. It’s heavenly. I can’t believe someone else’s touch can make me feel like this. So wanted, so safe.

He trails his wet tongue up my neck and plants another kiss on my lips. “I’m in awe of you, dolcezza,” he says, rubbing his fingers tenderly up and down my exposed arms and sending a crazy tingling feeling to my core.

“What were you and Hazel talking about?” I ask.

“Just fitness stuff mainly.”

“Did you talk about me?”

“Yes.”

Now I’m panicking. “What were you saying?”

“Just chit chat. I promise it was all good. I told her I’m moving you to my suite.”

Oh shit. This is actually happening. “What did she say?”

He starts laughing. “She said we didn’t waste any time and that she is fine with it. I think I have a bargaining tool to use to keep her happy, and then I can concentrate on making you happy.” He kisses my shoulder on the cut which now looks scabby.

So attractive.

“I’m happy. I’ve never felt happiness. Well, not like this. Not this type of happiness.”

He runs his fingers inside my inner thigh, sending electric energy all over my body. “I’m going to change that. I’m making sure you’re very happy from now on. I can’t wait to get you back to bed to tease that sexy pink lingerie off you.” He curls his lips at one end, showing his dimple.

Oh my. I think I’m wet already. I squeeze my legs together to control the throbbing. He lifts my head up and throws me back on the scatter cushions, then lies on top of my body, pressing into me.

“Lucca, your grandparents. They can’t see us like this.” I giggle.

“God, you’re so sweet. It’s the sexiest fucking thing. I’m so turned on.” He’s panting with desire.

“After dinner, I promise.” And a promise is a promise after all. I lick my bottom lip and twiddle a curl in my hair teasingly.

“Fuck, you’re going to undo me right here.” Lucca lifts me up. His aroused manhood is evidently noticeable through his tailored fitted trousers, and I giggle. “You are a cock tease, Lexi. I’ll be able to think of nothing else, Doc.”

We head back around to the terrace area. The night sky has fallen, and the table looks enchanting with flickering light from the candles, and twinkling sparkles from little fairy lights on the surrounding trees and bushes. The air smells sweet from the fresh flowers, and the delicious aromas coming from the kitchens.
