Becca turns and looks me straight in the eye, raising an eyebrow. “So you told them?” she asks.

I lean over quickly and kiss her right on the mouth. She freezes in surprise and then shocks me by leaning into me and kissing me right back.

This sends my friends into overdrive, making them even louder, if possible, whooping and yelling over at us. My grin gets so wide I feel like my face is going to split in two. Becca just kissed me back, in front of everyone. She wasn’t ashamed or trying to hide it. She claimed me just as much as I claimed her.

Becca looks over at my friends and the scene they’re making and flips them the finger, but she’s laughing. I know she hates being the center of attention, but I’m not going to pretend we’re not together and now everyone knows. And they can get used to it, because if I have anything to do with it, we’ll be together for a very long time.

This is the first book I’ve ever written and it wouldn’t have been possible without a bunch of people.

First of all, huge thanks to Leah for being my first reader (of anything I’ve ever written), and for her instant encouragement and enthusiasm. Your response made me think this may be something worth pursuing.

A big thank you to Beth for reading it in the early days, helping me iron out the issues and for always being willing to re-read the chapters I’ve worked on. You’ve been a great cheerleader.

Humongous thanks to Sara Ney (you should all check out her books), who showed me the way in this scary world of self-publishing and was so kind in her advice and encouragement. Sara also introduced me to Christine who I’m so grateful to for Beta reading for me. Thanks for your suggestions and pointing out when my writing gave away my Britishness.

Thanks to Murphy for a brilliant cover and for answering all my endless questions for me. Also big thanks for helping me find Megan who did such a fantastic job at editing the novel. Something it was in desperate need of. Megan, I truly appreciate all your hard work.

Thanks to Laura for proofreading and all her advice on how to promote my book. It was greatly appreciated and thank you to Stacey for formatting. . .I wouldn’t have known where to start.

Big thanks to all my brilliant family and friends – you guys are amazing.

Finally, to anyone who has read this book, posted a review or recommended it to a friend. Thank you, thank you, thank you! It means the world to me.
