An Excuse to Hold Her Hand

The next day, she told her mama all about their date. She felt like a kid who had just returned from an amusement park. She was that excited while she talked about it.

Lucy's phone rang around noon.

"It's sweetie pie!" she told her mom.

"Hello?"

"Hi, Lucy, it's Chuck."

"Nice to hear from you."

"Yeah, you too. Can I see you again?"

"Of course! When?"

"Would you think me forward if I say tonight?"

She could not stop smiling the whole time they were talking.

"Nope! What time?"

"Seven."

"What should I wear?"

"Dress for ice skating."

"Looking forward to it."

They hung up and she told her mom that they were going ice skating tonight. Her mom laughed. They were both so very happy about her meeting someone fun.

She dressed in jeans and a sweater. She looked really cute with her scarf wrapped just so. When it came time for him to arrive, she was practically giddy. The door bell rang. She opened the door. He was dressed in jeans and a sweater also, and she thought he looked very sexy. They walked to his car hand in hand.

She told him it had been ages since she had been ice skating. It was the same for him. He told her the reason he picked skating was so he would have an excuse to hold her hand all night.

"Oh, now, you are something else," she said.

"So are you," he insisted.

They skated for hours holding hands and talking about whatever crossed their minds. Lucy watched Chuck's eyes sparkle when he smiled. She wanted so much to be one with him.

When they took a break to get some coffee, they sat together at the table sipping it, talking and laughing together. Lucy did not feel like she could ever get tired of hearing the sound of his voice. And when he dipped his head for a kiss, she met him affectionately.

As it approached midnight, the rink was about to close, so they had to leave. They did not want their date to end, but it had to. Reluctantly, he drove her to her parents' house. He pulled into the driveway.

"I'm going to be sad when you have to leave," he confessed.

"Me, too. Will you come for dinner tomorrow night?

"Sure, what time?"

"Six."

He walked her to the door, stared into her eyes, and kissed her. She felt her panties dampen.

Lucy helped her mother cook a nice dinner. Everyone was excited about having Chuck over. They were not used to seeing their daughter in such high spirits. The girls were in the kitchen when the doorbell rang. Jim answered the door and welcomed their guest. Chuck said that the house smelled good, and then gave him a bottle of wine and told him how great it was to see him looking so well. Jim grinned as they walked toward the dining room.

Hearing him say the house smelled good, Lucy smiled. She ran out of the kitchen, wrapped her arms around him, and kissed him on the cheek. She took his coat and told him to have a seat. They called Robert to the table.

Connie and Lucy served the salad, roast chicken, potatoes, and gravy. They had strawberry cheesecake for dessert.

The meal was absolute perfection. Chuck told the ladies how delicious it was. Jim and Robert agreed and offered to do the dishes. Connie told them she would be glad to help so that Lucy and Chuck could have some alone time.

Holding hands, they walked to the den and sat down on the couch. Their time together was bittersweet because they knew that she had to catch a flight in the morning. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a gift. She told him he didn't have to do that, but she smiled and opened it. It was a beautiful pendant shaped like an ice skate on a chain. He unfastened it, put it around her neck, and fastened it back.

"When you see this, think of me?"

"I won't be able to stop thinking of you. Thank you!"

She kissed him and he hungrily kissed her back. They hugged each other tightly. She wanted to take him upstairs and close the door and do evil things to his body, but she controlled herself. It would not feel right way that way, and she wanted it to be perfect.

They spent the rest of the evening cuddling on the couch watching reruns of
The Big Bang Theory.
They tried to avoid talking about tomorrow. They would deal with it when they had to.

Snatch Him Up!

When morning came, she threw her bag into her rental car and headed for the airport. She had said goodbye to Chuck last night when he went home. He had asked her not to forget about him.
How could he think I could forget about him?
He was everything she wanted in a man. He was a big-hearted family man who thought she was wonderful.

As the plane carried her back to the life she had worked so hard to build for herself, she was consumed with thoughts of what she was leaving behind. She rubbed the pendant he gave her and remembered every detail of their time together. It had been a whirlwind of excitement, and she was going to miss it.

Her apartment building looked sterile compared to the cozy home she had woken up in this morning. She went up the stairs and unlocked her front door. Her place seemed awfully still and quiet. She had loved animals her whole life and always had dogs until she went to college. She had given up having pets so she could live in an apartment that was close to work. It seemed a fair trade off at the time, but she missed having another living breathing being around all the time. She freshened up and headed to work.

As she walked through the cubicles to her office, she was met with welcome backs and good wishes. Everyone was very glad that her dad pulled through, even though none of them knew him. It all felt so different now. She had nearly lost her daddy, and was given a second chance with him. Now she felt like she had wasted all those years living too far away.

She had searched high and low for Mr. Right with no luck, but that was likely because she was not looking in Kansas. He had been there the whole time. She was returning from the trip that had changed her life forever, and nobody was aware that anything was different.

When she got to Clara, she gave her a big hug.

"Welcome back, Lucy, welcome back!"

"Thank you. It's good to see you."

They walked into her office catching up. Lucy could hardly wait to close the door and tell Clara all about Chuck.

"He is so sweet. You would just love him!"

She told her all about him visiting her dad in the hospital, and asking her out. She told her about their dates and what a gentleman he was.

"Wow, Lucy, you are really taken by this guy, huh?"

"Yeah, I really am," she smiled.

"Oh honey, you deserve to be happy more than anyone I know."

Lucy thought for a moment about the implications of her pulling up stakes and moving to Kansas. She would be putting all 300 of her employees out of a job. And what about Clara. She would miss her terribly.
Oh, no, what have I done?

Sam knocked on the door. Clara opened it, and he brought in the mail.

"We sure are glad to see you back! How's your daddy?"

"Oh, thank you, Sam. He's doing well. Thank you for your concern."

How could she put Sam on the streets just to selfishly follow her heart? How flaky! That was not what a good person would do. That was not what she would do. She got busy catching up on business and lost herself in work for several hours. When Clara peeked her head in to say she was going home, Lucy decided it was time to go as well. They walked through the building together and chit chatted some more.

As she walked back to her apartment, her phone rang.
It's him!

"Hello?"

"Hey, Lucy, it's me, Chuck. How's it going?"

"Everything is fine. How are you?"

"Well, I miss my favorite gal."

"I miss you, too."

"Will you go out with me this weekend?"

That puzzled her.

"Um, I would, but, um, you know."

"Well, I thought I could arrive Saturday morning, pick you up, and find some amazing place to hold your hand."

"Aw, of course!"

"Excellent"

She walked in her front door, locked it, and sat down to watch TV. They continued talking on the phone for hours. They did not have much they needed to discuss. They just wanted to keep hearing each other's voices.

The next day at work, Lucy was again conflicted. Seeing her employees faces gave her pangs of
guilt. How would she be able to look them in the face? She was just terribly uncomfortable putting her selfish desires above their wellbeing.

The roses being carried through the building got everyone's attention. The delivery person brought them right to her office. The scent reached her before he did. She smiled, tipped him, and thanked him. The deep red roses wore a card pinned to the ribbon. She opened the envelope and read the card.

"Dear Lucy, Maybe if you can't get somebody out of your head, they're supposed to be there. Love, Chuck."

Clara came in and told her how pretty the flowers were. Lucy let her read the card.

"Oh, what a sweet man! You better snatch him up, girl!"

Lucy smiled and tired not to think about Clara looking for another job. She told her about her plans for the weekend. They were both super excited.

The rest of the week passed very slowly. Lucy talked to Chuck as much as she could, but it never seemed enough. She was reluctant to tell him about her fears for her employees, so she just kept that to herself.

That Soulful Jazz

Wearing a sexy blue dress under her coat, she watched out the window until his car pulled into the parking lot. She ran down the stairs. As soon as he opened his car door, she was there to greet him with big hug and kiss. He could not stop smiling as he walked her around the car to her door. She could not stop smiling as he climbed back in on his side. He kissed her once more, and then started the car.

"It is so good to see you, Chuck!"

"Yes, it is good to see me," he joked.

She giggled a little and asked where they were going.

"You will soon find out, my dear."

She thought he looked sharp wearing his polo shirt and khakis.

As they arrived at the public aquarium, she was very happy. She had been wanting to visit that place for a long time, but did not want to go by herself. As they walked through the front door hand in hand, she caught a glance of their reflection in the glass. Her mind took a snapshot because she never wanted to forget how happy they looked together.

They walked through the exhibits slowly savoring each moment. She told him more than he ever wanted to know about the different species of fish and crustaceans. He kept asking questions, so she kept answering them.

They sat down in the food court to have a quick bite of lunch. He asked whether or not she was having a good time. She squeezed his hand and smiled.

"Yes, I am having a great time!"

"Me, too. I just enjoy spending time with you.

He told her he had reservations at 8:00 in the city for a live jazz performance. She reminded him their first dance had been to jazz. He did not need the reminder.

"How could I ever forget." You looked marvelous in that red dress!"

"Thank you, sweetie!"

And then he awkwardly broached the subject of where to spend the night. She found his stammering to be cute. It meant he was as excited as she was.

"I need to make arrangements, um, for tonight. Now, understand it is completely up to you!"

"What are the options?" she asked coolly.

"Okay, I can get a room here. When we return from the show, I'll drop you off at home."

"Alright." she let him take a breather.

"The other option is that I get a couple of rooms in the city, and we spend the night there after the show."

She smiled wickedly.

"What if we only need one of those rooms?" she raised an eyebrow.

She watched his body suddenly tense up. He drew in a deep breath and blew it out loudly. She was sure that she was getting to him, and that made her so hot.

"Whatever you want, dear," he finished.

They got up and walked over to the penguin exhibit. She really liked the penguins, even though the stench around them was terrible. They could see the birds swimming underwater catching fish. They stood there holding their noses while Lucy told him about all the different breeds and the way they stay warm and mate for life. He told her that mating for life sounded perfect to him. She nodded in agreement.

After stopping by Lucy's apartment to pick up a few things and change clothes, they drove to the jazz club. They had a big dinner of Louisiana-style seafood. The live music was soulful and sensual. The lighting was dim and romantic. They danced the night away in each other's arms working up an appetite for the dessert that would come later.

When he kissed her, he fired up all of her nerve endings. When he pulled her close she could feel the firmness hidden in his pants. He slid his hand around her ample bottom. She could tell how much her body turned him on.

About one in the morning, they walked hand-in-hand to the hotel and took the elevator to the 46th floor. After the seemingly longest elevator ride of their lives, they finally got to the penthouse. There was iced down champagne and fresh strawberries on a table near the bed.

Lucy excused herself to the ladies room while Chuck poured their drinks. She freshened up and returned to find him standing shirtless by the floor-to-ceiling walls overlooking the city. He handed her a glass and said cheers as they clinked them gently and took a drink. She placed hers on a nearby table and he followed suit.

He put his hands on her shoulders and guided her to the window until her back was up against it. Then he held her there by her arms and kissed her mouth urgently. She felt the cold glass against her back. The juxtaposition of its coolness with her heated core made her tremble.

Sliding off of her mouth and down her neck, he nibbled first the left side then the right as he slipped his hand around and unhooked her bra. Then he quickly spun her around, pulled off her dress and pressed her big tits against the glass. Lucy had never experienced anything like this before. The cold glass hardened her nipples while he kissed her bare skin. He spun her back around and returned to her mouth. She felt his hand inside her wet panties.

"I want to be inside you," he growled.

She felt him slide a finger in. It felt so good. It had been so long since someone had touched her like that. He poured some champagne on her tits and then grabbed them both and squeezed and sucked her nipples dry and pulled her panties off. Then he turned her around and laid her down on her back on the bed. Her nipples were rock hard and her body was ready to explode. He took a strawberry and tore it in half. He massaged her clit with the juicy piece of fruit.

"Oh, God! That feels so good!"

Then he pinched her nipples and started rubbing and licking her pussy. She felt it coming on.

"Oh yeah! Don't Stop!"

Pulses of ecstasy shot through her. Her legs grabbed his head tight as she rode it out. He put on a condom, and then climbed on top of her. He kissed her tits again, and then looked her in the eyes as he slid his dick inside her. She could not look away. Not that she wanted to, she was so entranced by him.

"I love you, Lucy!

"I love you, too!"

His body filled her body just as his spirit filled her soul. He rocked into her slowly and deeply letting the friction drive them both wild. She liked the weight of his body on hers and the skillful way he pleased her. She felt the tension starting to pull her toward another orgasm. She relaxed and let it take her. His strokes got a bit harder and quicker. And then he was hitting it hard and fast. She started coming, and she clenched her hands into the skin on his back. His face got stern as he started coming. When he was done, he fell into a clumsy heap on top of her.

He smiled. She smiled. They kissed again because they could hardly stand not to. As they burrowed up into the fluffy blankets, Lucy was curious.

"I have to ask one question."

"Anything."

"Can people see in here?"

"No."

"Oh good!"

They chuckled.
