His fingers slid into me, then moved up, rubbing against my clit. I closed my eyes, giving in to the urges and letting my body rock against his hand as his mouth kept sucking on my breasts.

He rubbed and sucked, and I writhed beneath him, knowing I was on the verge of exploding from his touch. I loved how generous he was, always wanting me to come, but I didn’t want to come from fingers only tonight. I pushed his hand away, and he seemed to understand, though he did not stop touching and sucking on my breasts.

I ran my fingers through his hair. “Please,” I whispered.

In less than a second, he had shifted his body so his arms were locked on either side of my shoulders and his lips hot against mine. I bent my knees and opened my legs, lifting my body toward him. An expression of ecstasy filled his face as he pressed against me, shifting his body so his dick moved over my opening and slowly up, finally pressing against my clit and making me let out an involuntary moan.

He kept his dick there as he placed a light kiss on my open mouth, and then he moved it back down, pressing against my core but not penetrating yet. He bit his lip as he traveled back up, rubbing himself against my clit again. I stopped kissing him to suck in a choked breath, and he pulled away, panting.

“Brooke,” he whispered.

Oh, man. We had this rare moment to take our time with each other, but I couldn’t wait anymore. I moved my hand down, grabbing his hot erection, and adjusted myself so that he was positioned perfectly against me. “I need you so bad.”

“Need you always.” He let out with a shaky breath. His eyes met mine, darker with dilated pupils, and he leaned down and kissed me again. With our lips joined, he slid in with one slick thrust.

I let out a breath of air into his mouth. “Oh, God, that’s good.”

“Every time I make love to you feels better than the last,” he whispered as he started rolling his hips. “How is that even possible?”

I groaned and arched my back, mumbling an incoherent reply to the sweet words he said, which quickly turned into a gasp as he pushed back on my right thigh, bringing my leg into the air and then resting it on his shoulder.

“This okay, baby?” His voice was gentle, but his eyes had the hunger in them that I recognized so well from the short amount of time we’d been intimate. He was putting me first, as always, making sure I didn’t feel pressured into doing anything I didn’t want to, while trying desperately to balance it with making me feel good, and only giving into his own needs when he knew I was okay.

I nodded. “I want you deep,” I whispered. “Put the other one up there, too. You can do
anything
you want to me. I completely trust you.”

Chris’s head dropped so his nose brushed against mine, his mouth open, mixing our breaths together. “I … I love you … so goddamn much, Brooke.”

As he spoke, his hand hooked around my other leg and brought it to his other shoulder. His arms rested on either side of me. I stared into his beautiful eyes as he leaned forward on my bent legs and thrust.

I tilted my head back. “Holy shit, nothing has ever felt this good in my life.” I panted.

“I swear,” he said through gritted teeth. “I’ll never get enough of you. I’ll make love to you forever, and it still won’t be enough.” He kept thrusting, each stroke sending the most incredible shocks of pleasure through me. My eyes sank shut as my body happily surrendered to Chris’s deep, steady rhythm. My legs tensed on his shoulders and my head tilted back, pleasure rolling all through my body.

“Oh God, you’re coming already,” he groaned. “God, I love the way that feels. I want you do it again.”

“I will,” I moaned. My heart beat harder as I stared up at Chris. He was looking down at me with so much love and need as he kept stroking, and I could already feel my next one building.

“Want to watch my dick sink into you?”

Oh, God, did I. I tore my gaze away from him and looked down. It was the most beautifully erotic thing I’d ever seen, his hard length disappearing inside of me and then sliding out, only to sink back in. So damn deep, yet I’d never get enough of him. I wanted to fuse our bodies together, spend eternity deeply connected in every way. The feeling deep in my stomach started to spiral again, and I tensed, trying to send it away. I was so sensitive; I didn’t know if I could handle another one so soon.

His thrusts became faster as we both watched. “Shit, you’re going to come again, are you?”

“I can’t,” I choked out.

“Oh, baby, you can. I have you,” he said, and moved one hand to my nipple, rolling it between his fingers and pinching. The added sensation threw me over the edge, and the most powerful orgasm I’d ever had ripped through me, making my body tremble, my eyes see bursts of light, and my head shake back and forth on the pillows. I was yelling something, though I wasn’t sure what, because the only thing in the world I could focus on was how much I loved Chris and what amazing things he did to me.

I was vaguely aware that he’d stopped playing with my nipple and had grabbed my hand, lacing our fingers together. With his final thrust, his body tensed as he held himself inside. I knew he was all in from the sting, but I was still soaring, feeling way too good to care. His hips rolled lazily as he exhaled, and I moaned at the aftershocks of bliss that slow movement sent through me.

Finally, his face relaxed, and I moved my legs off his shoulders. Chris came down, still not putting a lot of weight on me but completely covering me with his body as his head rested in the crook of my neck. “I love you so damn much,” he said in a thick voice.

We were still holding hands, and I used my other one to stroke his hair. It was a moment I cherished. I didn’t know how to tell him what he meant to me, but I had to try. “I feel like you erase everything bad that has ever happened to me. Like I love you so much, it just overrides all of it. You really do have me.”

He lifted his head so his warm eyes met mine, and lightly kissed my lips. “And you have me. Forever.”

Chapter Thirty-Two

W
E LEFT THE HOTEL EARLY
the next morning. Both of us were exhausted, but neither one of us minded. We just got coffee and kept smiling at each other like idiots.

Even though I had an amazing night with Chris, I couldn’t wait to get home to Mia. I wanted to spend the rest of the day as a family. Tonight, after Mia went to bed, I wanted to plan our trip to Disney World, make love to Chris again, and fall asleep with my head on his chest like the night before. And tomorrow I wanted to go to city hall, file the paperwork Pierce signed, and get everything started for Chris to adopt her.

As we approached Zoey’s house, I decided to bring up something else I had been thinking about.

“Chris?”

“Yeah?”

“I know we never made it official, but you live with Mia and me, right?”

He smiled. “Yes, I do.”

“We should put your place on the market then.”

The smile faded from his face.

I didn’t get it. He just told me that he lived with us, and he wanted to adopt my daughter. Why wasn’t he ready to let go of his place? “I’m sorry. Is it too soon for you sell your place yet? I just thought—”

He looked over at me. “Oh, Brooke! No, that’s not it.” He turned onto Zoey’s street. “I just … well, hang on a minute.”

I looked out the window. “You passed Zoey’s house.”

“Yeah, oops.” He pulled over and undid his seat belt, before leaning over to hug me. “I’m going to sell my place. Of course I am. I live with you now.”

Relief washed through me. “Okay.”

“I just … well, I didn’t want to tell you this yet. But we both need to sell our places.”

“You want to get something new?”

“I already got us something new. It’s just not finished yet, and I wanted to show you when it was done.”

My heart beat faster as things started clicking into place. “All that stuff you had me pick out, the house you’ve been working on that you were so excited about …”

“Is for us, baby. Me, you, and Mia.”

“You got us a house?”

He pushed my hair behind my ear. “Houses are for families.”

I couldn’t stop the big smile that overpowered my face. “They are.” I leaned forward and kissed him, not caring that we had pulled over in a residential neighborhood in front of someone’s house. Hopefully, they wouldn’t look out the window.

We broke apart, and Chris brushed my lip with his thumb. “Do you want to see it?”

“Yes … but how far is it from here? We should get Mia.”

“It’s not far at all.” He was grinning like a little kid.

I was so giddy, I was sure my face matched his. “Okay, let’s go.”

Chris got out of the car and walked around to open my door.

I stared at him, and then looked over my shoulder at Zoey’s house down the street. “It’s here?” I asked, stepping out of the car.

“Yes.” He put his hands on my arms and angled me so I was looking at the house we were parked in front of. “This is our house.”

Our house.
Our house was frigging adorable. There was a green dumpster in the front yard I hadn’t noticed when Chris and I were talking, but that was the only tip-off that it was a construction zone. The outside was perfect. Yellow siding, blue shutters. Beautiful stone steps leading up to a huge front porch. Flower bushes in a small garden surrounded by lots of green grass.

“I wanted to do the outside work before it got too hot. There is still some stuff to do inside, but you can get an idea of what it will look like. Come on.” He took my hand, pulling me up the steps and inside.

“Look,” he said, opening the front door. “Right here? I’m going to put a closet because I know you hate the shoes all over the floor. And the floor’s all going to be wood because it’s open … that’s okay, right? I know you like seeing Mia play when you’re in the kitchen. But I’m adding an actual playroom for her. See?”

He grabbed my hand and pulled me across the room as he pointed to the built-in shelves, surrounded by all of the woodwork I had loved in the last house he showed me. “We can put her toys there. And I know you like crown molding … I’ll put that up, I promise. And look, this is the only area that closes off.” He walked me to another corner. “This is going to be your office. I’m going to make a built-in desk for you, and I’ll add a door so you can concentrate if you need to work when Mia and I are home …”

I let him lead me around in complete amazement of what he was doing for us. He literally took every snide comment I’d ever made about my condo and used the knowledge to create the home of my dreams.

“Brooke?” He was biting his bottom lip as he looked at me, rubbing the top of his head with his hand that wasn’t holding mine. “Do you like it? I can change whatever you don’t like—”

“Chris. I love it. It’s beautiful.”

A smile slowly filled his face. “You do?”

“Hell yeah, I do. It’s perfect.” I stood on my tiptoes and relaxed in the arms that wrapped around me as I brought my mouth to his. “I love our house.”

“I’m glad you love our house.”

“And holy shit, it’s right near Zoey!”

“That’s why I wanted this one. I know you liked living near your sister. Now you can.”

He’d seriously thought of everything. I hoped he thought of something for himself, too. “You made me an office and got our house close to Zoey for me. You made a playroom for Mia. What did you make for you?”

His eyes pierced mine. “I made myself a home that I want the two girls I love the most in the world to share with me.”

Tingles ran through my body. “I love you so much. But you didn’t make
anything
out of reclaimed wood?”

He laughed and pressed his forehead against mine. “Want to see the backyard?”

“Yes.”

He led me to a glass sliding door, and we stepped onto a deck. “We’ll get a table out here, and we can have everyone over. And look at that tree.”

I turned my head to the huge tree Chris pointed at. “I’ve always wanted to build a treehouse, and that’s the perfect place for it. As soon as I finish the inside, I’m going to work on that.”

“She’ll love it.”

“Mmm.” He stood behind me and pulled me against him. “And I’m going to put a fence up. I know Mia is good about staying in the yard, but I figured, you know, down the road. Just in case we …”

“Have babies?”

He held me a little tighter. “Well, yeah. Maybe. Or if we get a puppy or something.”

“I’d love a puppy.” I turned around so I could look up at him. “And I’m totally having your babies.”

His eyes got watery, but he grinned and held me tight. “I love the family I have now, but it makes me so happy to hear you say that. Our daughter is going to be an awesome sister someday.”

“Can we get the puppy soon, though?”

“As soon as we move in.” He kissed the top of my head as he loosened his grip on me and took my hand. “Let me show you the bedrooms.”

There were three identical rooms for Mia and her future siblings, and Chris paused outside of the last door. “This is ours. It’s the only room completely finished. I already put the floor in here and painted.”

“I can’t wait to see it.”

He pulled the door open, and I stepped in. There was no furniture, but the wood floor was gorgeous. I lowered my head to take in all of the different planks, varying slightly in color and texture to make an intricate pattern. “You did make something with reclaimed wood! It’s beautiful.”

“It is so hot that you noticed that.” His husky voice made me throb in all of the right areas, and I shifted my weight as I stood up straight, staring into his fiery eyes.

“Of course I noticed it. It’s gorgeous.” I took a step closer to him. “Remember that day that we went to get doors, and the guy told me you get a hard-on for this stuff?”

He bit his lip as I took another step closer. “Baby, my hard-on right now has nothing to do with the floor.”

I pushed my body against his, inhaling at the hardness of his erection against my stomach. “You’re about to get so lucky on this reclaimed wood.”

His eyes darkened. “Not on the reclaimed wood. I’ll hold you up against the wall.”

Fuck yeah.
“That’ll work.”
