The skating and everything including frock shopping and as we
talked Sam smiled. She laughed at the crab thing, and then I told
her all about being ill and about being sick and Sam clearing away
after me. The nurse she wasn't watching Emma, she was eyeing Sam
up. He was sat watching his mum and I chatter on and on, we were
going great guns, it seemed important to him that we did get on,
but Emma is easy to love and to talk to.

“You’re going to miss it when they sell up.” I was, and it was
nice of her to remember they were moving, she had remembered
everything that we’d spoken of.

“Yes, but as Sam keeps saying it’s just a place, and I’m not
to be sad because Gramps will be nearer, you have a very clever
Son.” She stroked his cheek.

“He is he picked you, he loves you so much, me too.” Oh my
that was so nice, we both blushed, and then we laughed and before
long it was teatime. We were asked to leave, we wasn’t aware we’d
been there here for so long, the time had flown by and as we were
going she smiled, she looked happier than when we arrived. I kissed
Emma and Sam gave her a hug and kiss.

“We will come and see you tomorrow Emma, do you need
anything?” She waved me to her.

“New knickers please and can Sam buy me a couple of new night
dresses, these have seen better days, some things you can’t ask
your Son’s to get you.” I smiled my smug smile.

“I told him we should have bought you some no worries, I’ll
get them from Marks on my way to class.” I kissed her again and
waved bye. The nurse gave Emma her tea.

“They’re a nice couple aren’t they?” Emma beamed.

“Yes I’m very lucky they’re my Son and soon to be Daughter.”
Sam looked at me, as I just blushed.

“Mum needs some things from Marks and Sparks, have you been
talking to her about talking me into marrying you Sam?” He admitted
defeat in trying to think of what women and girls
wanted.

“No, that came as a shock to me too, will you though?” He
laughed when I shook my head. We got to Marks with about ten
minutes to spare, I grabbed the underwear she would need seeing as
her other stuff had seen better days, sheisk, he blushed buying
mine, buying for Emma was comical, we purchased as well a dressing
gown, slippers and three nightdresses. Sam handed his card over and
signed on the dotted line. He had spent a small fortune in the past
few days. Something I was still annoyed at, his refusal to accept
the money I offered him for the dresses, I had it he just wouldn't
take it. I needed to change for our night out too, and we weren’t
lugging knickers and stuff around, so we went to my house with the
things.

I had an hour to change, do my hair the eyes and underwear and
get back up to dance class. The dress was an easy choice the first
one Sam said wow at when I tried it on, the black spotty swing
dress Sam had bought for me, with the new sexy black and white
underwear, the killer black heels. The makeup kept simple, smokey
eyes and lip-gloss. I wiped some off and went down stairs
carefully. I went into the front room Aunty Liz had come in to chat
to mum about taking JJ and Becks on holiday.

“Swoosh Michelle you look very nice, turn around let me see.”
I turned. “Come here your wonky. She straightened the seams and
smiled. Sam looked miffed Aunty had stolen his job for the day.
“You look proper nice Michelle, so nice and grown up, when did that
happen?” Sam was catching them there flies again. Mum too had her
mouth open.

“When Gramps and Sam decided I needed to look like a lady,
they may dress me up in frills and stuff, but I’m still happier in
my joggers and jeans. Ready Sam, I have a class in twenty minutes?”
We said our goodbyes and rushed up to class, we made it just in
time too, and I just had enough time to change shoes. I was with
Samantha downstairs teaching the lads from school. Sam followed, he
sat and watched as Samantha and I walked the lads through a quick
step for this lesson. It was a painful lesson for both Samantha and
I, boy did Sam laugh as they squished my toes, the lesson from hell
over. I plonked myself on his knee.

“Sam, thank you I feel very pretty in this.” He kissed
me.

“I’d go with you look damn sexy, Mi cielo.” I blushed. Why
does he make me do that all the time?

“I have to have my lesson and do an hour with the nippers come
upstairs and watch please?” I was on my own with Lee; Ellie was
away on her holiday.

“Look who scrubs up well let’s start with the Rumba please
Michelle.” I took his arm and ran through the steps. “Music, let us
show this room how to dance shall we?” This dress was lovely it
flowed with the music and made me feel so special. I received a
round of applause from the idiots I curtsied and
continued.

“Jive next let’s go straight to music and get the best use of
this dress.” I loved the Jive and yes, it was perfect for the dress
unfortunately the idiots, got a view of what was underneath too.
Whistles and cheers, from the boys. Sam doled out the required
dirty looks.

“Quite boys, lessons being learnt thank you. Cha-cha-cha,
again, with music please. Can we run through the mid-section again?
Music again please.” I showed him the steps on my own and he
grabbed my hand and danced me through it again. “Right we will run
through the Samba without music, show me what you learnt last
week.” I danced the steps. I knew the order they went in. “Music, I
think?” He grabbed my arms and placed the fingers correctly and we
started, a bit of a slip up and I had a cussing fit. “No, no, no
this way.” He was losing the plot with me. He moved around to me he
had his hands on my hips. “Go down and swish the hips then stop. I
spin you around and then back up not forgetting the arm movement,
flick back and perfection. Again, timings Michelle watch the
timings and you will be fine babe, just concentrate on the timings
and you should be fine.” My nippers were coming in Lee asked them
to sit. I danced the dance again and wow, I did it. Not as perfect
as I wanted but enough to get the okay from Lee to
finish.

Samantha was up to help me manage the nippers who were up and
clapping their teacher.

“Thank you now shush let’s show them how you do a tango.
Gillian, are you all right?” This would be the first time since she
sent me flying into Sam. I lifted her up into my arms and gave her
a cuddle.

“Come on we can do this, see Sam’s right over there we
couldn’t hit him if we tried.” He watched me, and waved at us. I
put her down and I asked for the music, she danced it
perfectly.

“Good girl, see I told you it was my new shoes and not yours.”
Samantha danced with the others I picked young Michael. He danced a
near perfect tango he actually tried to move his hand towards my
bum, much to the amusement of the idiots.

“Shut up or leave.” I gave them my best Paddington Bear
stare.

“You’re not normally as bossy as this, Michelle.” I laughed,
had they not seen me in hockey? We finished as the parents came in
to collect them. Gillian had a quick cuddle off Sam and they
disappeared as quickly as they arrived. I’d had a brilliant lesson
and the two I’d taught were good too. I did a quick check the hair
was fine, I needed deodorant they were in my locker. Sam was sat in
the corner as I walked across the floor.

“Give me a minute please.” I checked the makeup the smoky
black eyes liner added and mascara. I didn’t need the blusher.
Taking a bit off with a tissue, more deodorant and lips were done
last. Lined first and in filled with the deepest red. I wasn’t sure
I thought it was a little too red but the girl in the changing room
just said wow.

“Bad wow or good wow?” She blushed.

“Nice wow.” I put my make up back in the purse, and went back
to Sam.

“Wow, baby girl, fucking wow.” I suddenly liked wow. That
would do for me. I had a full on hug and bum squeeze.

“Take me to dinner please, Sam.” He held me in his arms. The
long smoochy kiss I got the whole room saw. Karen was catching
flies and spewing dirty looks my way.

“Wow, Sam that was…” He held my hand and we went to the little
Italian place down the road.

“What do you want to eat Mi cielo?” I looked down the menu and
then at Sam, he sat looking at me.

“What, are you smiling like a fool for?”

“You, you rock my world doing something different every day, I
can’t believe we’re a couple.” I smiled and passed him a little
velvet pouch.

“This is for you, I’m not sure if you wear things like this
angel?” He opened the strings and held the necklace in his hand and
smiled.

“A St Christopher, it is so nice thank you.” I grinned back at
him.

“Nope that’s St Thomas Sam, he’s the Patron Saint of
Architects, I will have you know, see he’s got his compass,
drawings and everything.” He laughed at me.

“Fancy you knowing that Mi cielo?”

“Sam, confession time I didn’t the jeweller did, I just didn’t
know what to get you, and you’re so hard to buy anything for,
because you have everything.” He held my hand and kissed it, I put
it on for him, and it nestled in his chest hair.

“I have everything, now I have you Michelle.” He kissed the
palm of my hand, he was it had to be said, attentive. We sat and
ate our meal laughing, talking and just enjoying each other’s
company He ordered more drinks and we just sat and talked more.
Paying the bill and we made our way to Heaven, Shane was on the
door again.

“Boy Michelle you look so different.” He kissed me and gave
Sam a look. “She’s too good to resist, but you better had.” Damn
Shane it’s taken me a month to get this far in less than ten words
he’d put Sam back weeks. He led Sam and me down the stairs. “Two on
mine Dotty, let me get you a drink in.” He laughed.

“Let me get you one you’re always getting us in past the
queues, it would be my pleasure.” I laughed as he drank his pint
quickly. He needed to sort the large group of women out who had
just arrived, they were on a twenty-first party night, a large
group of thirty women and Shane was in heaven literally.

“I have a lot of girls to see and please before I leave.” I
put my arms around Sam’s waist, whilst laughing at
Shane.

“I have had a wonderful day thank you.” I felt a tap on the
shoulder. I didn’t see the next thing, because it happened so fast,
I felt the pain before I could react, the girl from last night had
come behind me and as I turned, she slapped my face with the back
of her hand, oh no she didn't? I was sucker punched. She will pay
for that.

“Oh no you don’t bitch.” I turned head on for the next punch
and grabbed her fist, squeezing it so hard, as she screamed. “What
the hell did you try that for you stupid girl? I warned you
yesterday keep away from what’s mine and you didn’t listen.” She
came for a second blow, oop’s big mistake on her part, the palm of
my hand caught her chin, and she landed on her bum. I hadn’t
actually hit her, just self-defence moves. She was getting up.
“Stay down or the next one does you harm, I only warn you one time,
second time you asked for it.”

Shane came to my rescue. I looked at Sam, and wondered what
the hell had happened to think, he liked her? This girl was far too
wanting of my fella it just didn’t make sense, because I would
fight like her to keep him and I had done twice already. She was so
drunk, and she stunk of cigarettes and I hated to say it sweat and
erg she had wet herself. I’d like to think Sam hadn’t lead her on,
because this girl was a sorry wreck and hurting, why I didn’t know
but to drink as she did and every night, what was she running from?
I had a feeling who I just needed answers.

“Shane, she came at me I haven’t actually touched her yet, but
I think I may, get her out, please.” I left Sam at the bar and went
to the toilet to check the damage. She has bust my stupid lip,
there looked to be more blood than there actually was, I gingerly
washed my face I had an audience. I dried my face ouch I’m going to
have a fat lip and a bruised cheek tomorrow. I re applied the
makeup and the liner and the bright red lipstick I looked okay, my
lip was tingling, Sam was waiting by the door he was worried and so
annoyed. She had got blood on my new pretty dress, for that alone
the bitch will pay.

Michelle ran off to sort her lip out and Shane panicked so
did I, I had promised to keep her safe.

“Mick is going to fucking kill me!”

“Me too, this happened on my watch, shit what the fuck did
she do?”

“Sucker punched her, Michelle and I were talking and she
tapped her on the shoulder and backhanded her with her hand full of
rings.”

“How did she end up on her arse?”

“Michelle uppercut her with her palm, she didn’t actually hit
her, she made her lose balance, but she went down with some force
in her uppercut!”

“Have you seen her fight, God help the idiot who tries
anything with her she, can knock a fella on his arse!”

“So what do we do?” I was angry I had failed to keep my
promise to look after her.

“Michelle will cover it, she doesn’t lie but she will tell
her Dad something, he will believe. Why the fuck was she let in?
She’d had too much, that blasted hen party took over the door and
she must have slipped in with them.”
