Morginne
A Dark-Huntress who tricked Wulf Tryggvason into trading souls with her, cursing him so that no human or animal would be capable of remembering him five minutes after they left his presence. (Acheron used a drop of Wulf’s nephew’s blood to soften the blow of this curse, so that Wulf’s blood relatives would be able to remember him.) Morginne escaped the clutches of Artemis so that she could spend eternity with the Norse god Loki.

Parthenopaeus, Acheron (Ash)
An ancient immortal Atlantean, the leader and trainer and first of the Dark-Hunters. Son of King Icarion and Queen Aara, Acheron is the elder twin brother of Styxx. He makes his home in Katoteros. Talon Runningwolf refers to him as “T-Rex.”

Ash has a handprint scar on his neck. It comes and goes about as often as he changes the color of his hair. His presence will not drain your powers. He’s one of the few Dark-Hunters who gets carded at bars. He’s also the last face you’ll ever see if you piss off the gods.

Much more than that you want to know, and I’m not at liberty to tell you. Let’s just leave it at that and move along.

Phobos
His name means “fear” in Greek. This Dark-Hunter is the son of Neoptolemus and grandson of Achilles, both of whom fought in the Trojan War. His mother was Andromache, a concubine and war prize. (She was Hector’s wife.)

Phobos was betrayed and killed by a vengeful woman who used him to gain access to his brother’s palace and then enslaved his whole family.

Romanov, Dimitri
A Russian prince and cousin to Tsar Nicholas II, Dimitri grew up as a close member of the royal family and was a general in the Russian White Army. When the Revolution came, he did everything he could to get his cousins to safety. Unfortunately for him, his second-in-command learned of his activities. In order to curry favor with the new regime, he had Dimitri arrested. Dimitri was executed the day before Nicholas. Dimitri’s attempt to rescue the royal family is what led to their executions.

Runningwolf, Talon
Also known as Speirr of the Morrigantes, Talon’s father was a Druid high priest. His mother was a Celtic queen who abandoned her tribe in order to be with the man she loved.

When Speirr and his sister Ceara were orphaned at a very young age, Speirr returned to the clan and was forced to survive the punishment that his mother ran away from so that his sister might be given the food and protection he—but a child himself—could not provide for her. Speirr grew up and married his true love, Nynia, who later died in childbirth.

Speirr/Talon became a Dark-Hunter through a very sticky set of circumstances. In
A.D
. 558, when his beloved uncle, Idiag, died, Speirr swore vengeance on the northern clan who had murdered him, a Gaulish clan under the protection of the god Camulus. Speirr then went and killed Camulus’s son, bringing the wrath of the war god down upon himself.

Unbeknownst to everyone involved, it was Camulus’s other, illegitimate son who had murdered Idiag and framed Speirr, thus prompting his retaliation—but the damage had been done.

To appease the god, Speirr offered himself up as a sacrifice. This offer the clan accepted … but not until they had first sacrificed Ceara in front of her brother. She was only sixteen years old.

As a Dark-Hunter, Talon walked between this realm and the next with the help of Spirit Guides. He lost power whenever he felt negative emotions. After his marriage to Sunshine Runningwolf, he was made immortal by his patron goddess, the Morrigán.

Despite being officially off the hook and out of Artemis’s employment, Talon keeps up with his Dark-Hunter duties. He still bears the body tattoos designed as a tribute to the Morrigán. He is also the only Dark-Hunter to bear the permanent soul medallion scar on his own palm. He used his powers to absorb the deformity from his wife so that she might continue to pursue her living as an artist.

Talon rides a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He owns at least four more, a Viper, and four alligators. Okay, well, maybe he doesn’t exactly
own
the alligators. But if you ever do stop by his house, be sure to say “Hi” to Beth for me.

Santiago, Rafael
A pirate ex-Dark-Hunter with a shaved head and scrollwork tattoos, Rafael was born the son of a Brazilian “merchant” and a freed Ethiopian slave. He grew up on board his father’s ship and learned piracy at the knee of some of the most famous pirates in history. He was the youngest member of the Brethren of the Coast.

Rafael followed in his father’s footsteps until the day his father was murdered. He vowed vengeance and went after the pirates who were responsible. One by one, he made them pay. Or at least he thought.

Once his vendetta was settled, Rafael decided he would retire with the love of his life so that they could enjoy his riches and raise the children he wanted to have. It was on their wedding night that one of the pirates he’d thought was dead returned to exact his own revenge. Rafael’s newly wedded wife died in his arms, their vows unconsummated.

Stationed in Columbus, Mississippi, Rafael refused to believe Kyros’s Rogue stories about Acheron, thus saving himself from Alexion’s judgment. Rafael owns a boat, a possession he values more than the life of his Squire (Jeff Brinks). Rafael’s soul—and humanity—was restored to him by Celena, former Squire of Ephani.

Oh—and Rafael resents being compared to Taye Diggs, no matter how much they may look alike.

Sebastian (aka Viper)
One of the original Thirteen of Glory who accompanied Pizarro to the Inca city of Tumbrez more than five hundred years ago, this Spaniard Dark-Hunter is now assigned to Memphis, Tennessee. His mother was a Moor. So that he is not confused with his car, Viper drives an Aston Martin Vanquish, of which I am very jealous.
