The next evening Sam came over to cook Jules dinner. He
walked in the back door with three bags of groceries and a bottle of wine.
“Heaven's Sam, are you cooking for a church camp?” Jules helped him unpack the
food.

Nah, just two hungry people – hungry for
each other.” Sam nibbled on Jules' ear sending tingles down her neck. “And I
noticed the other day your fridge is looking rather empty.”

Yes, I've not had time to go grocery
shopping; being otherwise occupied.” Jules kissed his lips. His tongue met hers
as he pulled her to him. Already she could feel him rising to her through his
jeans as their mouths opened to each other. Jules pulled away with an effort.

“I have labs to grade yet before dinner, just saying...”

Sam looked at her with a serious expression, very
intent on her answer: “Will
you
be grading our labs, Professor? Or is
the TA doing that?”

I gave Daniel your lab to grade. So no
worries.”

Damn, I thought perhaps I could unduly
influence you.” Sam reached down and slid his hand up Jules skirt, up the
inside of her thigh to touch her; focusing his attentions on her slight mound
which brought a sigh of delight from Jules. His touch was skilled and tender as
he ran his forefinger up and down her clit on the outside of her panties.

Jules was panting by now. She stopped his hand with her
own. “No need to influence me. I had a chance to glance over your lab. You and
your partner seemed to have done fine; much better than last week's lab.” Jules
knees were beginning to buckle.

I’m very happy to hear that. We basically
worked all night trying to finish. It was a nightmare trying to figure that out
at 3 am.” Sam pulled away and began to undo the fly on his pants.

You really shouldn't complain about the course
work while you are attempting to make love to the instructor, Sam. It just
doesn't seem proper.”

Sam chuckled at this. He lifted Jules off the floor
with his hands under her hips. His mouth sought hers as he pushed her up
against the wall in the hallway. He was rock hard against her. She felt his
urgency while he sought to pull her clothing aside. He lifted her up and
carried her down the hall to the bedroom. Jules fell back against the edge of
the bed. Sam lifted her legs and pulled off her panties. He then unzipped his
jeans and pulled them off one leg at a time. Sam leaned over and pulled her
toward his full erection as he stood against the bed with his legs. Jules
widened her legs to him but he paused to bend down and kiss her stomach and
then further down with his lips into the folds of her.

His tongue tasted her for some time and played around
the periphery of her lips and clit until she could stand it no more. “Come into
me Sam, now!”

He stood upright again while she fondled the head of
his cock and he groaned, then he entered her carefully, moving in and out,
straining with his desire and fueled by hers.

“I thought about doing this to you all day; I couldn't
wait to see you tonight. All I could see was your face and feel you around me.
You have captured my heart, Jules. You are all I can think about. All I want is
to make love to you. You are so lovely.” Sam looked straight at her when he
said this. Jules couldn't look away.

She moved his right hand to her breast. She squeezed
his hand over it and he took her nipple in between his thumb and forefinger
while his movements at the edge of the bed quickened. She cried out with
pleasure. Once again, his cock filled her and she wanted it with all her heart.
The head of it bore into her, setting off fire in all the perfect places. As
she spread her legs for him her yearning for him became intense. Her thoughts
burned along with her body.

I’m falling in love with you. I'm not sure
what this means but I know I'm in trouble. You are everything I want. And I
want you all the time.
All of this she wanted to speak out
loud, but she couldn’t. Not yet.

The muscles in Sam's legs extended and flexed with his
effort and desire. He could not mask his excitement of taking her on the edge
of the bed. His eyes were half shut, his brow furrowed. His rhythm intensified.

Jules pulled him down on top of her, closing in around
his back with her legs as his weight pressed on her.

“I just want to feel all of you next to me. I want you
to take me all the way.”

Sam grabbed the back of her hip and plunged into her
with some intensity. They both cried out in sweet misery. Sam braced himself
against her as she rose to meet him, the touch of him so familiar and yet still
so new. His skin was damp at the small of his back. His smell on her body and
in her hair she had carried with her for days now; she could not imagine being
without his scent. She felt infused with him. At this moment she ached with her
own want and his swollen desire turned and thrust within her.

I've never met anyone like you, Sam. You
don't know what you do to me. Oh, god…” Jules bit his nipple as she came around
him.

He was so large in her that her orgasm kept building
and falling in waves. She came over and over until she was spent. Sam watched
her ecstatically. His excitement was fever by now but he wanted to watch her
come. He waited until the waves subsided for Jules and her breathing slowed a
bit but then he could stand it. He couldn't contain himself any longer. He
cried out, pulled out a little for a moment until he began to come, then
clutched at Jules' hips releasing into her at last.

Later in the evening it took Sam little time to
assemble their evening meal of shrimp Tostadas with avocado salsa and rice on
the side. As he prepared the supper Jules attempted to focus and sit down at
her desk to finish grading papers. She couldn't help but be totally aware that
there was a man in her kitchen making dinner. It had been a long time since
that had happened, if ever the part about the man making dinner. She chewed on
the end of her pen and smiled to herself.

“I feel so peaceful.” It all felt like a wonderful
dream. Sam was not only an amazing lover but he was turning into her best
friend.

Chapter Eight: The Light in the Trees

The next afternoon Sam stopped by her office and poked
his head in the door. “Hi, do you have a minute?”

Jules nodded and motioned him inside, keeping the door
open but stealing a look at the secretaries seated not more than ten feet away
at the big desk. They were both peering at the two of them with some interest,
a slight smirk growing on the first minion's mouth.

How can I help you?” Jules said as
naturally as she could and loud enough to be heard outside.

Sam caught the clue and said in clear voice, “I
wondered if you'd finished grading those labs from Monday?” He winced at her
with his back to the door and spoke in a half-whisper, “I need to talk to you.”

No, we don't have those labs all back yet. Daniel
should be finished grading them soon. He'll most likely post your grade over
the weekend.” In a low whisper Jules said, “Meet me at Courier's in a half
hour.”

Okay, thanks.” With this Sam nodded his
head and mouthed the words “I'll meet you.” then left.

After Sam left Jules sat down at her computer again but
dared to glance towards the desk. The two secretaries had a look of complicit
crime on their faces, bent down with their heads together. Jules' blood
pressure began to rise. She grabbed the document she was working on and headed
for their desk.

She snapped the folder down on the counter top and told
the first minion, “This roster needs to be retyped; there are still three
students missing from section three in the Honors class. They won't get credit
for any of it until they are entered into the system.”

Jules' eyes flashed at them before she went back to her
office; she was steamed. Usually giving those two “the look” broke up their
little tale-spinning. The two minions separated and got back to work. They were
used to Jules snapping at them and there was no love lost between them and the
youngest member of the department.

No other students stopped by the office so Jules
gathered up her things to go meet Sam at the cafe'. The sun was warm on her
face as she ambled across the street and found Sam sitting outside on the small
veranda reading his lab text.

Hi! Sorry to have given you the covert
signals earlier. Those ladies have nothing better to do than stir up gossip at
that desk. Their basic MO is to do nothing but poke their noses into everyone's
business.”

I could see that. I'm sorry if I came by at
a bad time.”

No, no. You have every right to stop by. It
was fine. Those two secretaries just drive me nuts. I'm sorry, Sam. What was it
you needed to talk to me about?”

Well, first-off, have I told you today how
beautiful you are?” Jules turned her head to see if anyone else sitting nearby
had picked up on that comment. No one was around. She leaned forward and
touched his hand.

Yeah, well it turns out that my sister will
get some furlough time from rehab this weekend. The last couple of weeks have
helped her a lot. She wants to get out of Creston and come visit me Saturday. I
was wondering if I could bring her by so you could meet her. You don't have to
let on that you know she's in rehab although I'm sure it wouldn't bother her anyway.
What do you think? I'd love for you to meet her.”

Jules studied Sam's face. His eyes were glued to her
and she could tell that this was as close to meeting Sam's mother as she would
ever get. Sam's sister was his family. It was important to him.

Of course, I would love to meet her. Any
sister of yours is welcome in my home. When would be a good time? Let me make
lunch.”

Oh, you don't have to make lunch; I don't
want you to go to any trouble. How about Sunday morning? She has to be back in
Creston by six.”

Sunday sounds perfect. And I want to do
something. Please let me make lunch for you two. Is there anything she can't
eat?”

Well, she doesn't like anchovies at all.
She will gag if she knows there are anchovies in anything. It's a weird
aversion, but other than that – no. Thanks, Jules. I know you will love her.
I've told her about you and she is very excited to meet you.”

The next day was Friday. Her two morning lectures went
well. Sam gave Jules a quick wink as he left the classroom after Modern
Physics. He called her on her cell phone while she was having lunch.

Hey, gorgeous. How are you? You really
socked it to us today in class; you pretty much blew my mind. Those concepts
are way over my head. All the students in front were freaking out.”

Jules smiled into the phone while she sipped her glass
of iced tea. “No they’re not over your head, Sam. They’re a way of viewing
higher mathematics and the world, for that matter.”

Jules wished that Sam was here so they could discuss
this subject in detail. Her face became serious.

“Approach the concepts as a challenge to your current
philosophy; an alternate vision as to how you see the function of things. Just
mull it over for a couple of days; work on it a little. This kind of material
takes time to absorb; allow yourself that time. Trust me.”

Oh, I trust you. I trust that I have no
idea what you are talking about. This class is way more theoretical than I
expected.”

Well, hang on to your hat cowboy because
there's more. Much more.” Jules laughed and then was serious. “The concepts
have to be introduced. I will let you all stew with them a little before we
begin a more detailed study. The upcoming labs should help clarify some things.
Don't worry, Sam. Soon, all will be revealed. Sort of.”

You are scaring me, lady. You sound like
some mysterious illusionist trying to keep everyone on the edge of their seats
before a big show. Well, I shouldn't keep you. I just wanted to tell you that
I'm scheduled to mow Mr. Connor's lawn tonight. I will be there to cut yours
around 5:30 if that works for you.”

That sounds fine. Can you stay for a bite
to eat?”

Only if I can bring something. What would
that be?”

I have no idea. Surprise me. I'll see you
around 5:30 then.”

Alright, I will see you soon. I can't wait
to cut your grass.”

Jules smiled to herself as she resumed her lunch. There
was no denying the fact they were both smitten. And the timing couldn't have
been more perfect for Jules. Life was good and she felt grateful for the gift
she had been given in one very sexy gardener who loved Math.

*****

Sam showered after his day of mowing while Jules
prepared a simple meal of steak and potatoes. Sam had purchased a small
watermelon for dessert and a container of gourmet' ice cream from a local
creamery. They spent the evening having dinner, making love, and listening to
music. The sun in the west lingered as if reluctant to set. The days were
longer and the evening light turned dark orange and then red behind the wide
leaves on the maple trees.
