“I…I don’t” he cut her off.

“I like these best.” He said holding up the
object. Christina stared on in horror. That wasn’t what she thought
it was. They didn’t pick that out together. Sarah that whore! She
was going to kill her. She attempted to wiggle from up under
Matt.

“Perfect,” he whispered. He caught her ass
in his grip before place the beads in her butt. Christina muscles
clamped down on the foreign object.

“Matt take it out.” She whined.

“You know you love it. Dirty girl. I wonder;
what does this button do?”

“Matt Dallas you better not!” she squealed
as he hit the button anyway. The vibrations had her trembling
stimulating the muscle, hot liquid seeped from her. He left her on
her hands and knees. He knelt in front of her on the bed. Christina
watched as the blood rush through his member and he shoved it into
her mouth without further ado. She soon experience her second
orgasm of the day and swallowed as he spilled into her mouth.

“Don’t worry baby, I’m going to have every
hole plugged next time.” He whispered darkly into her ear.
Christina didn’t know if her body would be able to handle much
more. It was like her darkest fantasies were coming true. Still as
she drifted off to sleep she realized that Matt used sex as a means
to hide from the truth. She was no closer to figuring out what
happened to him. He was broken and she wanted to fix him. Did that
make her stupid? What could a twenty-one year old woman do to heal
him? She fell into a fretful sleep.

Matt watched her sleep. She was completely
spent. Her lashes fanned her face and that wild curly hair spread
across the bed like silk. His heart thumped every time he looked at
her. Dammit. Collum was right. He had it bad. He tried to not be so
domineering, but he couldn’t help himself when it came to her. She
walked around with those large grey eyes, looking at him with all
that naiveté. He lied down next to her, pulled her close against
his chest and fell into a peaceful sleep.

***

Collum rolled over and picked up his phone
as it vibrated on the table. Who the hell could be calling him at
this time of night?

“It’s me.”

“Talk.”

“You remember that file I pulled for
you.”

“Yeah.”

“The girl Christina Moorehead—child
genius.”

“Go on,” Collum said.

“She was involved in a double homicide.”

“What?!” Collum sat up completely alert. Had
he’d been wrong about the girl. His instincts had never been off.
There had to be a reason.

“Look, I don’t have all the answers. It so
much red tape around this shit.”

“Do you know who it was?”

“Yeah, her father and another unidentified
victim.”

“Find out whatever you can and get back to
me as soon as possible.” Collum hung up the phone. Why? Why? But
why? He hadn’t realized he was shouting. Looking around he got up
out of bed. He needed a smoke. This just got dangerous.

Chapter 15

Christina shifted in her sleep. It was warm,
secure and safe. Her eyes flew open, Matt was still asleep. His
lashes fanned across his face and there was a vulnerability to him
that she usually didn’t see when he was awake and moving about. She
lifted her hand in stroke his hair. Something happened that hurt
him. She wanted to know, it reminded her of own horrors. No, she
wouldn’t think about it or go there. She eased away from Matt and
went to take a shower.

The hot water pounded her back and it felt
great. Thinking about Matt made her heart pound. She couldn’t
imagine a life without the man. She loved him. She couldn’t believe
it. How could she fall so hard for someone like him? Her body
trembled at the thought. The man had the power to break her. She
knew she shouldn’t have stayed away. What if he…no. She wasn’t
going to allow it. She was safe and secure. Taking a deep breath
she got out of the shower. She would cook him breakfast, it was her
turn to dote on him. Getting emancipated at an early age she had to
learn to be an adult early on, so cooking was something that she
was accustomed to. She cooked hash, pancakes, sausages, and eggs
for him. She had coffee ready for him as well, arranging it all on
a serving tray she took it to him.

Matt woke as the smell of food drifted in
the air. He sat up and noted that Christina was no longer beside
him. Stretching he made a move to climb out of bed when she walked
into the room. He sat, completely stunned as she made her way to
him. Her hair hugged her body, she wore a grey silk robe that
highlighted her stunning grey eyes. She was delectable and he
couldn’t wait to taste her again.

“Good morning,” she said blushing. Matt’s
heart raced in his chest. He wouldn’t ever get tired seeing the
blood rushing beneath her skin.

“Morning sweetheart,” he said as she
approached him. She leant over to give him a chaste kiss, but as
always he wanted more. He deepen the kiss before plunging his
tongue in between her lips. He chuckle as she leant glassy eyed
away from him.

“What have you got for me,” he mumbled
inhaling her hair.

“I brought you breakfast, and coffee.”

“God, you are heaven sent. Coffee.”

Christina giggled as she gave him the tray
with the cup of coffee. She watched as he made his coffee. He took
it with two teaspoons of sugar and a one spoon of creamer.

“I may be six feet five but I can’t eat all
of this alone,” he said smiling at her.

“Of course not silly, some of it is for me.”
She climbed into bed with him. Matt chuckled as he cut into the
pancakes; he speared it on a fork before turning to feed her.

“C’mon. You’re not scared are you?”

“Matt your devious, you better not try
anything,” she said looking at him suspiciously. She cautiously
leant forward with her mouth open. He placed the pancake in her
mouth. Christina chewed it. It was good. She had added a bit of
cinnamon to it. Suddenly, Matt licked the corner of her mouth.

“Eep! I knew it.” She said backing away of
him.

“C’mon, sweetie, you’re not going to let me
starve, are you?” Christina looked at him. Was he pouting? Oh no.
She giggled. Fine, she scooted closer to him and they fed each
other. Their morning consisted of tantalizing touches, massages and
of course hot rigorous sex.

“Christina,”

“Yes.”

“You’re mine.”

“Of course,” she said sitting up and looking
at him. Where was this coming from?

“Good. It’s official. We are in a monogamous
relationship.”

“Are you trying to say I’m your girlfriend?”
she asked. She watched in surprise as his ears turned red.
Christina started to giggle. Was this his way of blushing.

“Tickle attack!” he said pouncing on her.
Christina howled with laughter.

“Stop it! I can’t take anymore!” she
screamed trying to catch her breath.

“Very well.” He scooped her up into his
arms. She fitted perfectly in them. He gazed into those large
eyes.

“Matt? Are you okay?”

“Yeah.” He gave her a quick kiss before
setting her on her feet.

“I got to do some work; I’m going to head to
the office.”

“That reminds me mister; you can’t just take
over my life.” She said angrily. How the hell did she forget about
that? Oh yeah it was those magical hands of his that always managed
to put her in a catatonic state. Damn the man and all his
hotness.

“Well, I need you.”

“You need me?”

“Who else can I trust to keep the company on
track?”

“But Matt, I didn’t want to go into finance
anymore. I don’t know.”

“You’ll be fine. Your first day of work
starts tomorrow,” he said giving her a kiss on her head. She
watched as he got ready. She was uneasy about this. There was a
reason why she didn’t ever want to work for corporate America
anymore. She didn’t want to think about it. She took a deep breath
to shake off the anxiety.

“Have a good day,” she told him. It was
Sunday she needed to give Sarah a call to check on her. She’d been
acting weird since the incident with Collum.

“Sarah,”

“Hi Chris.”

“Whatcha doing?”

“Nothing.”

“You want to come over.”

“Sure.” Christina breathed a little easier
knowing that Sarah was with her. At least she had some familiarity.
When the doorbell rang she launched herself in the taller woman’s
arms.

“I’ve miss you.”

“It’s only been one day silly. What’s wrong
with you?” Sarah looked at Christina with a critical eye.

“Nothing why would you ask that?”

“Nothing, what’s for lunch?” she asked
looking around.

“You want to do pizza and a movie?” she
asked Sarah looking around. There was bound to be a media room
somewhere around this place.

“Sure.” Sarah said digging around in her
purse.

“What are you looking for?”

“I think I left my pain meds at home. I’m
cramping like a bitch.”

“I’ve got some.” She left Sarah in the
kitchen to grab the pills from the bathroom. She reached into the
medicine cabinet, and grabbed the pills. She grabbed her cellphone,
just in case Matt called. It was then she checked the app on her
phone.

Oh god the app said that she was a week and
half late. It wasn’t true. The app was a little janky anyway. She
would give it a few days. There’s no way she could be pregnant.
When she went into the kitchen Sarah had a drink ready for the both
of them. She could kiss her friend. She had no idea how much she
needed a drink. Wait a minute. Should she be drinking? What if she
was pregnant? Oh god, stay calm, cool and collected.

“I’m going to pass today. I’ve been doing
way too much drinking,” she said leading Sarah around the
house.

“Wow! Look at this place Chris!”

“I know. It’s massive. It’s basically a home
theater in a freaking house.”

“You’ve done well young grasshopper,” Sarah
said.

“I’m not dating him for his money, and this
isn’t the next karate kid,” Christina said exasperated.

“So are you dating? I want to know all the
latest gossip.” Sarah said, making herself comfortable. Christina
popped the movie in before sitting in the theater seats next to
Sarah.

“He did ask me to be his girlfriend this
morning. It was so funny, when he started blushing,” she
chuckled.

“Are you telling me that beast of a man
blushes.”

“Yep.”

“Wow, he must got it bad.” Sarah said
looking at Christina.

“I think something or someone must’ve hurt
him in the past. We had a very tender moment, and he jumped up like
a corner animal and ran for the hills. I want to fix him.”

Sarah looked at her friend; if that was the
case there was no question that a woman hurt Matt. She wondered how
long ago it was. She didn’t want her friend to be the rebound
chick. She would not let that man hurt Christina. Then again, she
realized that it was too late as she watched at her friend.

“You love him!” she said to Christina.

“I do.” Christina didn’t know what it was
but suddenly she was very emotional. It wasn’t the hormones
dammit!

“It’s okay Chris. You’ll be fine.” Sarah
said. She needed to find out about his past, and that meant an
inevitable date with the player was necessary. It was time to
prepare for war.

Chapter 16

Christina was nervous. She stood in the
front of the mirror and observed the woman reflected in it. She was
dressed in a charcoal business suit, her hair was in a bun and the
only makeup she applied was a nude color lip stick. Black sleek
business shoes adorn her feet. She was ready. Matt had wormed his
way back into her heart when he had her baby—her car delivered. She
couldn’t believe that he had it flown from Tennessee, the man
needed to find better ways to spend his money. Not that she was
complaining or anything. All she wanted to do was keep a low
profile. After the mess that happened when she was kid, she didn’t
want anything to do with finance or working for corporations.

Still she did it for Matt. The stupid man
had won her over. Damn him. Grabbing her keys she got into her car
and headed to the office. She entered the busy corporate skyscraper
building. Taking a deep breath, she watched as security greeted
her. She signed in and once validating her story they welcomed her
to the company before telling her to take the elevator to the top
floor.

Cliché elevator music played in the
background as she made her way up. Geez, how many floors did this
place have? When the door opened she was greeted by a woman. She
had a tight smile on her face and her eyes were cold. Christina
dealt with her types before. She scanned the woman from head to
toe. The first two buttons of her blouse were undone, and she wore
a short pencil skirt with black three inch heels. Christina found
herself hoping the woman would fall and break her neck. Whoops,
that wasn’t nice.

“Since you’re new here, I’m just going to
let you that he’s mine.” Christina felt her eyebrows rise to
hairline. She didn’t realize who this woman was talking about, but
she knew it was best to put her in her place, before it became a
problem. Mustering up her snobbiest tone, Christina gave the woman
a look of superiority.

“It’s clear why the company needs someone of
my caliber here. It’s falling apart with all the intellectually
inferior people here. I hadn’t realized you were a present day
courtesan masquerading as a simple receptionist, seems you’re only
meant to serve your superiors. How fitting. Now be a good little
bitch and go sit down.”
