Too much information, James!” I
exclaimed once he finished his sentence and let’s just say, some
things are better off unsaid.

But it’s true,” he grinned
mischievously. I looked away so that I could bring my face back to
a normal color. Huh, normal? I never thought that word would apply
to me anymore, but here I was, using that word.

You look so cute when you blush,”
James gushed and then sighed contently. “Just when I thought you
couldn’t get any cuter.”

My eyes widened, but I didn’t have
enough time to stop him. His lips came crashing down onto mine and
my hands instantly went around his neck, tugging at his hair as his
grip on my waist tightened to the part where I needed him to loosen
his grip. He took the hint and loosened his grip, but didn’t stop
kissing me. This all just felt so . . . wrong. I was supposed to be
kissing Adrian, not James.

James groaned into the kiss before
deepening it. I tried to move back before things got any further
and he pulled back.

Why can’t you just give me a
chance?” he asked me, his eyes searching mine as we tried to get
our breathing under control.

Second chances are for those who
deserve it,” I told him while I tried to put some space between us,
but it was hard to do that when you were halfway to
Heaven.

Of course it is,” James muttered
under his breath, glaring at me while I just sighed in
defeat.

Just get us home,” I told him
tiredly and he just rolled his eyes at me. He rolled his eyes at
me.

Gladly. To our home it is,” James
smiled again before flying us off to God knows where. “You’ll love
it there. I swear.”

So this is my new life. It’s just
me and James. I wonder what Adrian will do while I’m away. Will he
come looking for me? Will he even want me back? I betrayed him and
everyone else.

I remember looking into his
aquamarine eyes before leaving. His eyes held remorse, love, anger
and . . . betrayal. Maybe he’ll just give up on me. He deserves to
be happy and he definitely won’t be happy if our relationship had
persisted. Looking at James, I smiled at him before reaching up and
kissing his cheek. I snuggled into his chest and breathed him in.
James stood frozen for about a moment before grinning and wrapping
his arms around me protectively. He kissed the top of my head and I
didn’t flinch this time.

I’ll never let you go,” James
whispered and I smiled. James was wrong when he said it’ll forever
be him and his broken heart. It’ll always be me and my broken
heart. Just when I was having a mental pity party, James broke me
out of my reverie.

What’s wrong?” he asked, tilting
my face up to meet his stormy blue gaze.

It’s just . . . I have a
question,” I started and he nodded, motioning for me to go on. “Is
Adrian British? Are you French?” As soon as I finished asking those
questions, James immediately face-palmed himself and I looked
away.

Out of all the questions you
could ask me, you ask those two stupid ones. The answer to both is
yes,” He states and I don’t know why, but I want to ask more
questions. I open my mouth to say something, but James, realizing
that I had more questions, cuts me off.

Aller dormir,
mon ange
. Go to sleep,” James orders and
the darkness soon takes me away to the most phantasmagorical place
I’ve ever been to.
