“Let’s get out of here,

” He said as he closed his computer. 

“What did you have in mind?”

“Can you swim?”

“I have something planned for us this afternoon, do you trust me?”

“Great go change and I will meet you at the car”

“Wait, meet you at the car?  Where are we going?”

CHAPTER NINE

They drove a short distance to a pier where there were a few yachts lined up.  There was a gentleman standing by a particularly large yacht waving them over. 

“Mr. Moretti?” Dominic nodded.  “Right this way sir everything has been prepared and the crew is waiting for your instructions.” 

Victoria looked at him, “you didn’t have to do this, it looks really expensive.” 

“Actually the yacht was complimentary with the villa.  I thought it would be fun if we spent a day at sea and possibly go scuba diving, if you are up to it?” 

“Sounds like fun.”  She said excited as they boarded. 

A much smaller boat actually came with the villa, but Dominic wanted this experience to be special for Victoria so he rented the largest yacht they had available.  Dominic wasn’t frivolous with his money, but he also didn’t mind spending it on someone he cared about and he was
definitely developing feelings for her.

Victoria and Dominic were given a tour of the yacht.  The interior had a warm contemporary feel enhanced by lovely cherry wood and fine soft furnishings. The fully stocked bar and dining area was laid out in an open floor space.  The lounge area came equipped with
an L shaped cream leather sofa, coffee table and two occasional chairs, a flat screen TV and music system. Just past the lounge area was a formal dining table. The sizeable exterior deck had a Mediterranean feel with a shaded area with upholstered seating.  The upper deck was also partly shaded space with dining furniture that was perfect for a romantic dinner.
 
The afternoon was spent first scuba diving then lounging on the deck. 

“Are you hungry?  A late lunch was prepared, we can go below and eat if you would like.”  Dominic asked.  Victoria stomach growl as he finished his statement.  “I guess that’s a yes.”  He was unable to contain his laughter. 

She smacked him on the arm “I guess I am hungry, led the way.”  She said as she followed him below. 

They talked as they ate, mostly about family when Victoria disposition turned solemn.  “Hey, hey none of that, we are here to have a good time and that’s what we are going to do.”  She inhaled deeply

By the time they got back to the villa they were both exhausted.  Victoria walked in and flopped on the sofa.

“You want something to drink?”  Dominic yelled from the wet bar

“Just bottled water, I drank enough today to last me a week.” 

“Come on, you’re on vacation, you’re suppose to do everything in excess.” 

She looked at him with a raised brow as he handed her the water bottle.  He looked at her expression.

“Me too.” he smiled while bring his beer bottle to his lips. 

“Come sit with me on the terrace.”  He coaxed as they sat under the gazebo and watched the moonlight dance off the water.

Over the next week they stuck to the morning routine of working out and reserving one hour for answering important emails.  And true to his word, Dominic had his way with Victoria in all the bedrooms, the kitchen, living room, terrace, beach and ocean.  

“We only have two more days in paradise, is there anything special you want to do before we leave?”  Dominic asked as he closed his computer. 

“I would love to go shopping today and tomorrow’s my birthday so I just want to have a lazy day on the beach.”  She paused; she needed to let him know how much she was enjoying herself.  “Nick you have fulfilled everything I thought was possible on this trip, I have had an amazing time, thanks to you.” 

He smiled.  “I’ve had a great time also.”  He stood and closed his computer.  “Okay shopping and a lazy day it is.” 

They spent the day visiting several market places, picking up gifts for family and friends.  Victoria only had a few gifts to pickup, but Dominic had several.  She helped him pick out gifts and was envious of Dominic’s large family, other than her two best friends, she had no other family, she was alone in the world.  “Hey, you okay? Dominic asked noticing the solemn look on her face.  “We are in paradise and you look sad.” 

“I’m fine I’m just feeling a little jealous that you have so many family members to buy gifts for and I have no one other than my two best friends.” 

He looked at her and his heart ached to make her happy.  “If it will make you feel better, I will let you pay for my remaining gifts.” He smiled which prompting her to laugh as she smacked him on his shoulder. 

“Come on how many more gifts do you have to get, you have like fifty people on the list.”  She teased.  He put his arm around her shoulder and they continued to shop, she looked up at this man who she had spent almost two weeks with and felt a warm feeling all over, wishing he was her man and they were here on vacation, but the reality was that he was being paid to be here with her and being paid to say all the right things to make her feel good about herself.  She tried to mask the hurt she was feeling as they finished shopping and headed back to the villa for dinner. 

Upon returning to the villa, they had dinner delivered and ate in comfortable silence on the terrace. 

“This is my favorite time of day, the sunsets here are amazing,
” Dominic said as he looked to the sky. 

“This has been an unbelievable vacation.  Thank you for agreeing to come with me.  You made this trip a dream come true for me.”  Dominic grabbed his beer before
lying on the lounge chair.  “Come here.”  He motioned to her and she complied, lying in his arms, placing her head on his chest as they turned their attention back to the sunset.  “You know, I didn’t realize how bad I needed this vacation before coming here.  My mind and body have been so relaxed that I have a clearer idea of what I need to do going forward with my business.  I have you to thank for that, especially the relaxing my body part,” he said as he kissed the top of her head.
