A few years later, Mr. Douglas Holtz had reworked the play so that the monologues were broken up, each character giving a section of his monologue in a revolving manner. It was the perfect alteration! It changed the dynamic in a big way, and a shock ending was added that blew us all away. Once again, fortune struck! I was able to go to Madison, WI, and see the production. There are no words to describe how amazing the show was. Especially considering I got to be a part of that first reading….

The show did well enough that it was picked as part of the prestigious Fringe Festival in New York, where, to my understanding, it got good reviews. I believe there was another production of the play—forgive me, Mr. Holtz, if this is incorrect. Sadly, there have been no further productions of the piece since then—yet.

It is my hope that it will happen. If you have read my book, you already know a lot about the show. It is a significant piece and has a lot of very important things to say. It casts light on a dark subject, and it needs to be brought forth and discussed. Maybe, just maybe, this book will help. Maybe the right person will read about
Tearoom Tango
and the ball will get rolling!

About the Author

B.G. T
HOMAS
lives in Kansas City with his husband of more than a decade and their fabulous little dog. He is lucky enough to have a lovely daughter as well as many extraordinary friends. He has a great passion for life.

B.G. loves romance, comedies, fantasy, science fiction, and even horror—as far as he is concerned, as long as the stories are character driven and entertaining, it doesn’t matter the genre. He has gone to literature conventions his entire adult life where he’s been lucky enough to meet many of his favorite writers. He has made up stories since he was child; it is where he finds his joy.

In the nineties, he wrote for gay magazines but stopped because the editors wanted all sex without plot. “The sex is never as important as the characters,” he says. “Who cares what they are doing if we don’t care about them?” Excited about the growing male/male romance market, he began writing again. Gay men are what he knows best, after all—since he grew out of being a “practicing” homosexual long ago. He submitted a story and was thrilled when it was accepted in four days.

“Leap, and the net will appear” is his personal philosophy and his message to all. “It is never too late,” he states. “Pursue your dreams. They will come true!”
