“Ma bad, ma. I wasn’t thinking, but just cus I was rude you ain’t gotta be rude back, you way too beautiful for all that attitude,” he said as he smiled; I smiled back

“Well next time you should use the manners that your mother taught you and I wouldn’t have to be rude.”

I grabbed two Red Bulls and turned to walk away, but before I could reach the register, he had caught up with me and lightly grabbed my arm. I looked at his hand on my arm and then back up at him; he quickly removed his hand.

“My bad but I couldn’t just let you leave without getting your number; my name is Garrick, but my friends call me Ricky.” I grabbed his phone out of his hand and programmed my number into his contacts.

“I’m Laela – here’s my number, hit me up.” I paid for my drinks, placed my shades over my eyes, and walked towards the door where Jaeda was standing, waiting for me with an amused expression on her face.

“I guess Stella getting her groove back,” she, and I laughed as I flipped her the bird. I wasn’t looking for anything, but I wasn’t going to turn away a cutie like that without at least giving him a chance. When we got in the car, I opened the bottle of Grey Goose and poured the contents into a water bottle before discarding the alcohol bottle into the trash.

“Let’s bend some corners for a minute before we go get my car,” I said as I opened both of the Red Bulls and placed them back into the cup holders.

“I’m with that.”

We slid around the East, and it seemed like everybody was outside so we decided to go to the block; it was a nice day, and it was a shame to waste it. The hood was probably cranking, and I could use some excitement.

When we pulled up to the block, the whole Squad was out; it was looking like a mini block party, that’s just how thick it was outside. Niggas had pulled out their 4-wheelers and bikes, and the bitches were out trying to get some attention. Jaeda and I hopped out the car, and I instantly spotted Ericka’s thirsty ass hanging out. I shook my head as I felt my phone vibrate. I looked at the screen and it was a text from Ricky, telling me to lock his number in. I saved his number, and then put my phone back into my pocket.

“What you hookers up to?” Lexis said as she and Sage approached us.

“Not much just came outside. I see the garbage still on the curb,” I snickered, and they all joined in as we stared at Ericka and her cousin as they were twerking to the music that was blasting from Brayden’s Beemer. That girl was looking a hot mess; she had a small baby bump, and she just looked hurt and lost.

“Poor baby,” I said out loud.

We continued to chill on the block for a few hours; I was tipsy, and it was starting to get chilly. I walked towards Jaeda’s car so that I could grab my hoodie; as I reached into the car, I felt somebody walking up on me. I fingered the razor in my bra strap before turning around to see that it was only Jah.

“Damn you was gonna cut a nigga?” he asked.

“Shit, if I would have known it was you, I would have went through with it.” I rolled my eyes as he grabbed his heart, as if I had hurt his feelings. “Cut the shit Jah, what you want?” I closed the door and leaned against the car.

“When you gonna quit treating me like shit, blood? You act like we ain’t got shit together.” I stared at him and shook my head. “We a good team Lae, and I ain’t trying to lose you over these punk ass bitches that don’t mean shit to me, or over a bitch that don’t know who her baby’s daddy is.”

As he brought up the baby, my heart sank into my stomach; that shit was hard to even hear. I didn’t want to think of anybody having a baby with my man besides me, but I guess I had to accept the fact that there was a possibility that this was Jah’s child.

“Nigga this ain’t the first time you been caught cheating, when is the bullshit enough? When I’m sitting in the clinic with an STD? When I done fought fifty million hoes, or when you done gotten me pregnant at the same time as one of your other hoes and leave me as a single parent?” I was pissed; the nerve of him to think just because we hustled good together and loved each other that I was supposed to just say fuck all the hurt and disappointment and go back, like a nigga wasn’t out here doing me dirty.

“Fuck you Jah, you arrogant piece of shit – nah, you need to get ya shit together.” I stood up straight and pointed in his face, “Find out if that’s your child and take care of your responsibilities; you living reckless in the streets, and you start college in a couple months with a baby on the way, and it’s too much for me.” Jah reached out for me as tears streamed down my face. I leaned into him and let my tears flow.

“I know I fucked up babe, but let me earn your trust back and make shit right; you my heart and I can’t keep it going without you,” he said softly into my ear.

“Well you should have thought about that before you decided to poke your dick in every bitch this side of the bridge.”

I looked up and noticed Ericka approaching us. I placed my hand on my hip and stared her down; I didn’t have time for this bum ass bitch and her drama. Jah turned around to see what I was staring at.

“Oh there you are baby daddy, you over here telling ya ex-wifey how we are together now?” she said as she smirked, rubbing her ugly ass belly that was low key protruding in a cheap ass crop top, probably from Rainbow or something.

“Bitch didn’t I tell you to quit claiming me as your baby daddy? I gave yo dumb ass money for an abortion and you blew that on weed, drank, and syrup, but you pregnant and all up on the next nigga–the fuck I look like taking you any kind of serious? Bitch be for real with ya self, holla at me when it’s time to get swabbed.” Jah turned back around to face me, and maybe if it was somebody else I would have felt bad, but the bitch had played herself and I could care less how she was treated or how she felt. I hoped he didn’t think that all that would make me give in; I was taking this time to do me.

My phone began to vibrate; I looked at the screen and Ricky’s name flashed on the screen. I ignored the call and as I was placing my phone back into my pocket, Jah snatched my phone out of my hand.

“Who the fuck is Ricky?” he yelled. I snatched my phone and placed it in my pocket as I pushed past him. I noticed this dumb bitch was still standing around with a smirk on her face like she hadn’t just been dismissed a few moments ago.

“Aaw I guess I’m not the only one all up on another nigga,” she said, I walked towards her

“Did you not understand that the nigga don’t want shit to do with you?” I asked, and stared at her pathetic ass.

“That’s what he saying now, but he ain’t saying that when he’s sleep in my bed every other night. Bitch you think you’re so high and mighty, and your nigga fucking on everything; it must be heartbreaking to know that your nigga can’t help but to always fall back in my pussy and not pull out,” she said while laughing. Before I could catch myself, I had smacked fire from that bitch and she fell back on her ass. I shook my head.

“Bitch you can have his ass if you can get him, you bum ass rat!” I yelled and walked off; by this time, Jaeda was rushing towards me.

“What the fuck just happened?” Jaeda asked as Sage and Lexis approached us as well. Lexis was taking off her earrings and putting on her rings; I knew it was about to be some shit, so I tightened up the laces on my Chucks and tied my hair up.

“That bitch started talking real reckless and I lost it – fuck her!” I yelled; as I turned around, I saw that Jah and Ericka’s cousin were arguing. Ericka was still sitting her silly ass on the ground, holding her face and screaming like somebody killed her ass. If that bitch wasn’t pregnant, I would have drug that hoe. I swear, soon as she dropped that baby, I was on her head. I turned back around, adjusted my razor, and removed my earrings and the rest of my jewelry, and so did Jaeda.

Soon as I turned around, I noticed Ericka’s older sister and two cousins rushing towards us talking shit. Jaeda ran up on her older sister Erin, and started beating her ass; one of her cousins rushed me and threw a wild punch that landed on my collarbone, and that’s all I needed to power up. I instantly two-pieced that hoe and soon as she stumbled, I gave her two jabs to the gut. She shook it off and rushed me, slamming me into a car as she grabbed my hair. I started blending her with hella face shots. I wasn’t the type to pull hair; even if you had mine, I was going to make you let mine go by serving a bitch face. I landed a jab to her face, and I felt the bones beneath my knuckles crack; the girl released my hair and was holding her nose, where blood was pouring into her hands.

Lexis was on top of the other girl, and Sage was holding her phone recording the entire fight. I went and grabbed Jaeda, who was slamming Erin’s face into the hood of a car; we needed to get up off the block fast before 5-0 came through. We had scraped them hoes, but we had made the block hot We all hopped into Jaeda’s car as Jah came and gave me the keys to his place. He leaned down and kissed my lips, and I didn’t turn away; his lips felt good, and I missed their touch. Instead of my high fading, it seemed like the fight boosted it and I was feeling good. I sat back in my seat as Jaeda pulled off and turned the music up as Yo Gotti’s “Fuck You” started to play.

“Man this shit look crazy. Jaeda, yo ass is a beast with them hands,” Sage said, laughing as she played back the video before posting it online. I laughed and shook my head; Jaeda was about to kill that girl if I hadn’t stopped her from banging her head into that car. I could feel the sting of the scratches on my face and arms, so I grabbed a blunt wrap and the weed out of Jaeda’s stash, and rolled two fat ass blunts as Lexis rolled two of her own. We began a session as we drove and danced in our seats to the music. I loved my Squad; they were always ready to go when it was time.

We pulled up to Jah’s house, I unlocked the door and everybody took a seat in the living room as I walked to the bathroom to clean up. I ran into Gio as I walked down the hall; I was a little tipsy, so I ran smack dab into him.

“Slow down killa – damn, what the fuck happened to you?” he asked.

“Man we got into a small scuffle with your brother’s ratchet ass baby mama and her people,” I said as I grabbed a couple face towels from the hall closet, and headed into the bathroom to grab the rubbing alcohol. I looked into the mirror and there were three long ass scratches to my left cheek, and my hair was all over the place; other than that, my eyes were just low from the weed and alcohol. I returned into the living room after cleaning up the scratches to my face and arms, and then cleaned up Jaeda’s as Lexis went into the bathroom to clean herself up.

“Y’all stay in some shit ma,” Gio said as he came and took a seat on the couch where Jaeda and I were seated. I laughed.

“Whatever, if your brother kept his hoes in check it wouldn’t have been shit; but irrelevant females always feel the need to let their presence be felt, and that’s when they feel these hands,” I said as I grabbed the shot glass out Gio’s hand and downed it.

“Exactly,” Jaeda said. “I’m always rocking for mines, respect my mind that’s my motha fuckin sister hoe,” Jaeda said, animatedly reciting a line from Lil Wayne.

“What you know about that classic song?” Gio asked, pouring another shot into his shot glass. We all laughed; I sparked up another blunt just as Jah, Tone, and Greg came in the house.

Jah and I stared at each other as he came and sat next to me; I scooted away from him some, and he pulled me into him. I giggled as he kissed my lips; I was faded, and I just wanted to chill. We sat around clowning and getting high for a while, until everybody started getting sleepy. I got up and grabbed covers for Greg and Sage as they camped out on the two couches in the living room; Jaeda and Tone got up and headed into the guest bedroom. I kissed Jaeda’s cheek as we said goodnight, and then I turned and headed into Jah’s bedroom.

Soon as we got into the room, Jah was all over me like white on rice. I knew that having sex would only make him feel like we were back together, but I just wanted to feel him. I was drunk and I would handle the rest when I was back in my right frame of mind. I arched my back as Jah removed my clothes and kissed me deeply; soon as all my clothes were off, we headed to the shower.

I stepped into the shower, and Jah stepped in behind me; he turned me around, pushing me to the back wall as he devoured my lips in a long, passionate kiss. I moaned and pushed my body into his as he fingered my wetness. I let out a deep moan and pulled away; I just stared in Jah’s eyes as we stood under the water. His body looked amazing dripping wet, and his light brown eyes sparkled as they stared at me with so much intensity. I looked away, afraid that if I stared for too long, I would never want to leave him. Jah gripped my butt and before I knew it, he had lifted me up and slid me down his thick rod; I let out a deep moan as he rocked me into multiple orgasms. This was where I wanted to be, but I couldn’t trust this nigga and I wasn’t going to let his dope dick make me forget that.

If Jah wanted me back, then he was going to have to work for me, and I didn’t plan on making things easy for him at all. I loved him with all my heart and didn’t want to be without him, but that’s where females always went wrong – wanting to keep a nigga because of feelings, but letting respect go out the window. I loved me and I didn’t doubt that Jah loved me, but he didn’t respect me and we were young, and I still had a lot of wild days ahead of me so I wasn’t bothered – hurt yes, but bothered no.

“Gate 24 now boarding flight 2439 to Phoenix,” the announcement came over the loud speaker in the airport. I was grabbing some last minute snacks as I walked back towards our boarding gate. I walked up to Tone and Laela, handed the both of them their snacks, and grabbed my carry-on as we proceeded to board the plane. Tone, Laela, and I were on the same flight and Jah, Sage, and Rico were driving with one-half of the cash, and should be in Arizona before midnight. B, Greg, and Lexis drove with the other half of the cash, and were already out there. Raj and this broad Alex were on a flight that left out about an hour before us. We had mailed out their work three days ago, and it should be at the UPS out there to pick up once we landed.

Ericka was initially supposed to make this run but under the recent circumstances, we had to use one of the other girls. Raj and Alex were cool, but I felt Alex was a little slow and she was a newbie. I just hoped she had enough sense to watch her surroundings and cut if she had to. We got seated on the flight, and I cuddled up next Tone as I prepared to take a short nap during the hour and a half flight. Tone put his arm around me as he placed his Beats headphones on his ears, and leaned his head back. I placed the hood to my hoodie on my head and drifted off to sleep.

I tried to keep my head up as high as I could, while trying to pull Laela from her seat. I had managed to break free from my seatbelt, but I couldn’t get Laela’s loose; the water in the car was filling fast, and my head was almost fully submerged. I kept trying to coach myself into staying calm so that I could steady my movements and my breathing. I knew that if I began to panic, it wouldn’t help. I looked over at Jah, and his eyes were wide open. I quickly looked away; I couldn’t believe Jah was dead, but I had to get my sister because I didn’t plan on losing her as well.

“Jaeda! Jaeda, baby!” I pushed myself upwards so that I could take a deep breath, and I could see Tone on the outside of the car reaching for me. I wanted to reach for him, but I had to get Laela before I could even think about trying to follow Tone to safety. Then it suddenly dawned on me, and I reached into Laela’s shirt and grabbed the razor from her bra strap; I used the razor to cut the seatbelt. I pulled Laela, but it was like her body weighed a ton; the water had submerged the whole car, and it was quickly sinking further into the water. I looked back to where Tone was, and he was still leaning inside the car, but now he wasn’t moving or talking, I began to panic. I grabbed Laela and pulled with all my strength as I pulled her out of the open passenger door. I said a silent prayer for Jah that his spirit found its journey to heaven.

I pushed off the car with Laela draped around my shoulders, and took a deep breath as soon as my head was above water. I looked up as firefighters and policemen were surrounding me, and helped to pull all of us out the water. Once I looked around, I noticed Laela wasn’t moving. I began to scream for my sister, and I tried to get to her but suddenly my legs wouldn’t work. The tears were spilling from my eyes forcefully as I began to hyperventilate; I looked around at Jah, Laela, and Tone all laid out with the EMT’s working on them. My head began to spin, and my world went black.

“Jaeda, Jaeda!” I could hear Laela calling me, and I was relieved to know I hadn’t lost her.

“Babe! Jae.” Oh thank God Tone.

I opened my eyes, and Tone and Laela were both staring at me. I looked around and realized that I was still on the plane. People were standing in the aisle; I had slept through the landing and the arrival to our gate. I felt so embarrassed; I was having another bad dream, and people were looking at me like I was crazy. I was sweating, and I had tears on my face. I wiped my face with my sleeve as Tone grabbed me and held me.

“I don’t know what that dream was all about bae, but I got you no matter what Jae Money.” He kissed my lips, and I just nodded my head. I pulled away from his embrace and reached up to grab my carry-on. I was so embarrassed; I just wanted to get the hell off the plane. Laela grabbed my hand, and we exited the plane together as Tone followed behind us. As we headed to the baggage claim, Laela squeezed my hand.

“Wanna talk about it?” she asked.

“Not really, it was worse than usual. It wasn’t you me, mom, and daddy this time; it was you and me, with Jah and Tone.” I shook my head as we continued to walk. I looked back at Tone and couldn’t imagine losing him or Laela, not even Jah. “I just don’t want to think about it; let’s get out of here, I need to smoke.”

We grabbed our bags and headed out to the passenger pick up area, where Lexis was outside waiting for us so that we could go to our hotel. We were staying at the DoubleTree Suites not far from the airport, and I just wanted to relax for the rest of the day; that dream had me feeling weird, and although we were out here deep, I really just wanted to be to myself and get my mind right. We checked into our room with the fake IDs that we all had pressed up before we came out here; all of our IDs were capable of passing the light, and if slid would read. We all had California and Arizona cards made just in case anything happened. We had gotten three 2-bedroom suites at the Double Tree, all in different areas of the hotel in case anything went down, and Raj and Alex were rooming down the street at the Hampton Inn. We had placed everybody separately in case anything was to go wrong, so that we had an out.

Everybody was talking about getting in the pool, and then going to eat; it was hot as shit outside. I told them to go without with me, and I would see them later when they came back. I just wanted to relax and be alone. As I was in the room putting away Tone and my belongings, he entered the room and hugged me from behind.

“You okay baby? Want me to stay with you?” he asked. I smiled at him as I turned around to face him. I admired his smooth, chocolate face. Tone had a baby face and a deep dimple in his chin that was just hella cute to me.

“Nah bae, I’m straight, go ahead and chill with the squad. I just want to kick back and take a nap,” I said as I kissed his full lips.

“Can you see if Greg has some juice? I know he got it.” I gave Tone my best puppy dogface; I knew that Tone didn’t approve of when I sipped syrup or Xanny juice. I didn’t do it regularly, just when I wanted to relax. I would have settled for syrup, but I knew that Greg had brought a few bricks of syrup out here but planned on selling them to his cousin that stayed out this way, so I settled on getting some juice. Xanny juice was a mixture of crushed Xanax pills dissolved in a mixture of juice; we preferred to mix ours with a blue raspberry brisk, with tropical jolly ranchers in the bottom. Tone surprisingly nodded his head and kissed me again before walking back out the room. I was expecting some kind of lecture or protest, but I was glad he took it easy on me today. A few minutes later, Tone returned back with a cup of juice for me.

“Thanks bae,” I said, “Thanks G!” I yelled out loud. I slipped into some shorts and a sports bra, and laid across the bed as I loaded a book on my Kindle Fire and sipped my juice. A couple minutes later, everybody headed out and not long after that, I drifted into a peaceful sleep; I was high, feeling good and relaxed.
