Marie Ritchie enters the room with Matt,
who had just collected her from her house after a heart to heart.

‘Hi,’ I call cautiously from the window of
the conservatory.

‘Hi Emily,’ Marie answers her eyes on the
bundle fidgeting in my hold.

‘He won’t settle,’ I explain as I rock
backwards and forwards encouraging George to relax.

‘Matthew was the same,’ she rolls her eyes
and unbuttons her coat handing it to Matt who is standing awkwardly in the
doorway.  Marie walks over and her eyes ask a question, ‘may I?’

‘Of course, George this is your grandma.’ I
hand over my baby.

‘Wow, he looks just like Matthew,’ her eyes
fill as she places her grandson in the crook of her arm gazing down, ‘hey
Georgie,’ she murmurs and my eyebrows hit the roof at Matt, not Georgie please,
I pray!  Matt grins and wanders over to me wrapping his arms around me dropping
a kiss down on my lips.

‘Everything ok?’ I murmur, as I regard
Marie walking into the next room chatting to George to quieten him.

‘Yes, I think so,’ he brings me tighter against
him and I place my head on his chest, ‘or it will be, she never realized how
much I missed a dad, it wasn’t intentional.’

‘I have no doubt of that,’ I smile up.

‘She will be a good grandma,’ he glances
towards the lounge.

‘Again, I don’t doubt that for a moment,’ I
kiss his chin.

‘But I need some time before we have
another, I have so many things I so want to do to you,’ his lips move against
mine and I deepen the kiss allowing his tongue to delve into mine.  My insides
clench as I push against him, before I pull away abruptly.

‘Oh no, you aren’t going anywhere near
there for a while Mr!  Believe me!’ I pant and he chuckles.

Epilogue

I glance over at my sister’s bulging
abdomen with relief that I no longer have one.  My hand moves automatically to
my own flat toned stomach.  Matt and I have worked out three times a week at the
gym to tone my body since George’s birth.  Now, three months later my body has
never been in better shape.

‘Emily,’ someone approaches us and I glance
up to view Timothy Daniels, Tom’s senior partner at his law firm, ‘a pleasure
to see you again, and yet another stunning dress,’ his eyebrow arches as his
eyes appraise me.  I am dressed in a short cream dress which hugs where it
touches, skimming over my full breasts and shapely hips.  My legs are bare and
my feet are in nude four inch heels.  I have straightened my long dark hair and
applied my makeup heavily for the event.

Matt and I haven’t been out anywhere where
George couldn’t accompany us, up until now choosing to dine early if we ate out
so that we could carry him in his car seat and return early to put him to bed
and enjoy our evenings together.

We have been inseparable since George’s
birth, Matt working from home wherever possible.  We have spent the entire
three months together, along with George, all getting to know each other.  Matt
is a brilliant, ‘
hands on dad
,’ eager to get involved anyway he can.  George
is generally a good baby, although can take some time to settle at times, Maria
being the expert due to having lots of practice with Matthew apparently.

Matt was meeting us here, as he was in
London meeting with the architect on his new venture.

‘Timothy,’ I allow him to kiss my cheek,
‘lovely to see you too,’ my mind rewinds to our last meeting, in this same room
for last year’s summer ball.

‘Well, you look fantastic,’ he leers at my
breasts.

‘Up here Timothy, come on I know you can do
it,’ I tease pointing to my face and Tom chuckles.

Timothy flushes, but grins his hand finding
my lower back, ‘you cannot blame a guy for trying,’ he moves his hand up my
spine and I stiffen.

‘Move it, or lose it,’ I mutter sternly
frowning and I hear a familiar chuckling behind me.

‘Well, the kitten is back. ’ Matt murmurs
removing Timothy’s hand, with a dark stare before wrapping his arms around me
from behind.

‘Well, hello gorgeous,’ he moves my hair to
one side and kisses my neck briefly, too briefly.

He releases me immediately, leaving me
wanting before turning to Timothy, ‘hi Timothy, I believe you are acquainted
with my fiancé.’

‘Oh,’ his gaze darts to my left hand and
registers the large square diamond before smiling, ‘I was unaware, apologies
Matthew,’ he doesn’t appear sorry at all.

‘No problem, there is no disputing your
taste, he smiles at Timothy before moving to Lucy and Tom to greet them.

Throughout the dinner Matt’s hand remains
on my thigh his thumb stroking gently sending delicious frissons of pleasure
throughout my insides.  I have had two glasses of champagne and my cheeks are
flushed.

‘You ok over there?’ Matt enquires his
voice filled with amusement.

I grin, ‘I am indeed. Good job for breast
pumps eh?’

The music begins and Lucy and Tom rise to
join several other couples, ‘dance?’ Matt stands and holds out his hand, he
looks as handsome as usual in his tux, my heart flips at the knowledge that he
is all mine.

We are moving in time to the music, Matt’s
hand holding my hip against his hardening groin, ‘have I expressed how stunning
you look this evening,’ he murmurs into my ear.

‘No,’ I tease, ‘although others have.’

‘Hmmmm,’ he mumbles and I move my hand
around his neck pulling him down towards me.

‘You look pretty fantastic yourself,’ I
kiss him gently, grinding myself against him.

‘You do not look like someone who has just given
birth,’ he wonders, his hand moving up and down my hip.

‘Hmmm, do you think he will be ok overnight
at your mum’s?’ I sober suddenly with the worry.

‘He will be fine. I have called and he is
sleeping soundly,’ he reassures me, ‘and I thought we had agreed, for tonight we
were not going to worry about our son,’ he kisses my neck and I moan.

‘You do realize that the last time we were
here was most probably the night you impregnated me with our son?’ I murmur and
he glances down at me suddenly.

‘Really?’

‘I believe so, although I don’t require an
action replay thank you,’ I inform him sternly.

‘Why not, do you not want a brother or
sister for George?’ he teases, half seriously.

‘Maybe eventually. I want to spend time
with you right now.’ I insist.

‘Are you looking forward to the wedding?’
Matt murmurs.

I shrug, ‘I am looking forward to the honeymoon,’
I grin.

‘Come on Emily, it is less than a week to
our wedding and you have zero enthusiasm.  It is a small event, as you
instructed and we even have George accompanying us on our honeymoon, at your
insistence,’ his hand moves up and down my spine and I flush.

‘Of course I am excited about the wedding,
I cannot wait to become Mrs Ritchie,’ I assure him, ‘would it be rude to leave
right now?’ I murmur into his ear.

He chuckles, ‘who cares, we have a whole
night of uninterrupted loving to look forward to,’

‘Do you think we should pick George up
along the way?’ I enquire.

His eyes light with amusement before he
smiles down to me, ‘I love
all of you,
Emily Taylor.’

‘And I love
all of you
Matthew
Ritchie,’ I grin.

‘Come on, let’s go get our son.’
