“Nope. Not until you come.” He was about to go back to work when she tangled her fingers in his hair and tugged.

“Fuck me.”

If her pulling his hair hadn’t gotten his attention, that request would have. Raising his eyes to look at her, he saw the need in her heavily lidded gaze. “Gladly.”

She drew her brows low. “The regular way. Not that other way.”

He smiled as he worked his way up her body, grabbing a condom along the way. “Yeah, I figured that.”

“And don’t look so pleased with yourself. I’m still mad at you.” She grit out the words from between tight lips.

The smile he couldn’t control grew wider as he rolled on the condom. He always had liked the tough challenges. “You still don’t get it, do you?”

“Get what?” Her scowl deepened.

“The more you hate me, the more you bitch and act like a hellcat, the harder it gets me.” He watched as her gaze dropped to the evidence of his words bobbing between them. A nearly feral groan rumbled from deep within him. “God, I’m gonna fuck you so hard.”

She looked as if she was about to lay into him some more but CeCe never got the chance to holler. He covered her mouth with his and slid home, rough and fast, driving the breath from her lungs.

One of her fists hit his arm, before she sank into his kiss. His tongue tangled with hers, plunging into her mouth.

She met the stroke of his cock thrust for thrust and a realization hit him. He might never grow tired of fucking this woman.

Of course, if he spent too much time with her out of bed there was a good chance he’d end up wanting to kill her and her him.

But in bed they were damn good together. Two fucked up people fucking. A perfect match.

CHAPTER 12

CeCe woke to an empty bed and a feeling of disappointment. Wade wasn’t there. He’d probably left. She shouldn’t have expected him to stay. He wasn’t the type.

She was a stupid woman to assume—

Her self-loathing was interrupted when she drew in her first deep breath of the morning and was hit with the aroma of fresh brewed coffee and something else. Bacon?

Glancing at the clock on the nightstand she saw it was early. Her housekeeper wouldn’t be here yet. Maria would make coffee whenever she arrived, but she knew better than to cook bacon. CeCe wouldn’t eat that. It was only in the house because Maria sometimes made spinach salad and crumbled it on top.

Wade enjoyed some meat with his breakfast though. She’d learned that yesterday when he’d taken her to the diner and forced her to eat for breakfast more than she usually did in an entire day.

Could that be Wade in the kitchen? Cooking?

She swung her legs over the edge of the mattress and felt the pull of sore muscles. Sex with the man was proving to be a pretty vigorous full body workout.

Padding naked across the room, she grabbed a robe from the hook by the door and slipped it on. She was too curious to take the time to dress.

The floors were cool against her bare feet as she made her way down the stairs and across the foyer to the kitchen.

He glanced up when she entered the room. “Good morning, beautiful. How’s your ass feel today?”

Even with how hot he looked manning a frying pan, shirtless, his question had her frowning. “I’m still mad at you about that. And do you have to be so crude all the time?”

“My apologies.” Wade cleared his throat and performed a sweeping bow. “How is your delicate rectal region this fine morning, my lady?”

She wrinkled her nose. “Ew. That’s worse. And it’s sore, thank you very much.”

He stepped forward and reached out to draw her to him. Wade kissed her hard while holding her forearms with both his hands. After he broke the kiss, he leaned his forehead against hers in an act that had her confused. Wade could be a sex driven pig one moment, and incredibly sweet the next.

“I’m sorry, darlin’.”

She pulled her mouth to the side. “Are you?”

“Yeah, I am.” He grinned, negating the sincerity she’d heard in his words before. “While you’re sore we can’t do it again.”

And the pig was back.

She scowled. “Oh, we are never doing that again.”

He bobbed his head to one side. “Eh. We’ll see. You ready for bacon?”

Dropping his hold on her, Wade spun back to the counter.

“I don’t usually eat bacon.”

His gaze dropped down her body. “Yeah, I guessed that, judging by the look of you.”

“Stop saying that.”

“Saying what? That you don’t eat enough? No can do, beautiful. You need to eat so you have energy because while I’m around, you’re gonna need it.”

That raised a very good question. “And how long will you be around?”

Wade flipped off the burner and turned, leaning back against the edge of the counter. “If I’ve overstayed my welcome, just say the word and I’m gone.”

The serious tone and steady stare he leveled on her told CeCe he thought she wanted him to leave. As annoying as he was, that wasn’t what she’d meant.

“I didn’t say that. I was just wondering.”

Wade watched her for a few seconds before nodding. “A’ight but I meant what I said. Just tell me to go and I’m gone. I have a day or two before I’ll have to leave in order to drive to the next venue in time.”

Now that he said it, she was pretty sure she knew he had an event Friday he needed to drive to, but she’d forgotten.

In her defense, it was very distracting trying to hold a conversation in the kitchen with a man dressed in nothing but briefs.

Perhaps if his muscles weren’t so big and hard it might be easier. And if the bruise on his ribs didn’t remind her every time she saw it just how crazy it was when he threw his body in front of a charging bull to save a rider’s life. Crazy, but kind of hot.

Darn it. Now she wanted him again.

As he smiled and moved toward her, she had a feeling she might get exactly what she wanted. He lifted her up and set her on the counter just to the side of all his breakfast preparations.

Stepping in between her thighs, Wade moved in for a kiss. At the same time, he ran his hand up the inside of her thigh.

“What about the bacon?” she asked, not really caring.

“It’ll hold. I’m hungry for something else.” He moved to nibbling on her neck while slipping his other hand inside her robe to fondle her breast. “Mmm, I like this easy access attire.”

Leaning back, he untied the belt and pushed the sides of her robe open to feast on her breasts. One tug on her nipple with his mouth and she was a goner. She exhaled on a moan.

She felt him smile against her breast. The man truly enjoyed making her lose control. She should probably be grateful for that. It meant he tried to do it often. Her pleasure had never really been John’s concern.

The sound of a gasp brought CeCe’s head around.

Her housekeeper stood wide-eyed in the doorway. “Mrs. Cole.”

CeCe pushed Wade back and yanked the sides of her robe together, tying the belt tight. “Maria.”

Shit. CeCe had lost track of the time. Wade was quite the distraction.

It was Tuesday and Maria worked Tuesday through Saturday, but CeCe didn’t realize it was late enough for her to be here already.

“What time is it? Are you early?”

“No, ma’am. It’s almost eight. You say I must be here by eight to make your coffee before you leave for work.”

She couldn’t fault her employee. Those were Maria’s instructions, but today, work was the dead last thing on CeCe’s mind.

She got a glimpse of Wade’s amused expression as he remained right where he had been, between her legs, preventing her from getting down off the counter.

He didn’t seem at all disturbed that he was standing in the kitchen wearing nothing but underwear and sporting a hard-on that Maria would have to be blind to miss.

Meanwhile, Maria looked at a complete loss at what to do and where to look as she diverted her gaze to the ceiling and then the floor.

CeCe had to get herself together. It was bad enough she hadn’t gone into the office yesterday, and today wasn’t looking promising for work either. The least she could do was maintain control in her own household with her staff.

“Coffee and breakfast are already made so why don’t you go do whatever else you were going to do today?”

“I wash the sheets on Tuesdays.”

“Good. Go do that.” CeCe jumped on the task that would put her at the other end of the house.

Wade let out a soft laugh. “Good idea.”

He was no doubt thinking the same thing she was. How sweaty and—God help her—full of spilled lube those bed sheets would be. After yesterday, they needed washing.

“Yes, ma’am.” With one more quick glance at Wade and CeCe, sitting on the counter where she’d never ever sat before, Maria spun and left the room.

“Oh my God.” CeCe let out a deep breath. He grinned, making her mad enough to slap his arm. “It’s not funny.”

“It’s very funny. A few minutes later and she would have gotten even more of an eyeful because I was fixin’ to get creative with the maple syrup. And now that I think about it, that there bacon grease has all sorts of potential.”

“Wade!”

“CeCe!” He mocked her before turning serious. “Your divorce is final. Right?”

“Yes. Of course.”

“Then as a single adult you’re allowed to live a little.”

“Still—”

“Let it go. Don’t make me distract you.” His tone held a warning.

She could only imagine what distraction he’d come up with this time. If she didn’t do as he asked she could find herself tied spread eagle to the table and covered in syrup.

If not being violated by Wade with the help of bacon grease. She glared at him until, shaking his head, he moved in between her legs again.

“CeCe, you heard Maria. She’s going to be busy cleaning our sex sheets. I can, and I will, take you right here, right now. Don’t think I won’t. So get rid of that attitude.”

She didn’t doubt it. Wade always seemed to get his way, no matter what she wanted. Or thought she wanted.

John had been a pussy when it came to the bedroom. She didn’t quite know what to do with a man with a dominant personality—except give in.

And enjoy it. Though she’d never admit that to Wade.

He waited patiently, watching her for her answer as to whether she was going to relax and enjoy their meal or if he’d have to force her to have sex in the kitchen while Maria was just down the hall.

Quite honestly, his threat excited her. Just as much as her picturing how creative Wade might get with the various items in the kitchen at his disposal.

Damn man. He’d perverted her without her giving him permission to do so . . . and had made her come harder than she ever had in her life yesterday.

Scowling, CeCe sighed. “Okay. Fine. I’ll stop worrying. Just keep that bacon grease away from me.”

Wade lifted a brow. “Just hearing that come out of your pretty little mouth is giving me ideas so I really can’t make any promises.”

CeCe sighed deep even as her ass clenched at the thought of him sliding inside her again. “You’re incredibly trying. You know that?”

“Right back at ya, beautiful.” He grinned and then took a step back. Reaching for a frying pan, he glanced in her direction. “Now, how do you like your eggs?”
