“All you said. Me too. We can forgo the meal and go to bed.” Driscoll didn’t say anything further since he couldn’t say the words he ached to.

Lila’s slight pause made him cautious not to spook her. He’d bide his time for now and let things progress.

Lila blew out a breath then leaned against him. “I want to tempt you and tease you a bit before bed. Let me feed you.”

“Yes.” He would willingly go wherever she wanted to.

She held his hand and led him to the kitchen then released him to prepare their meal. He sat at the island and watched her as she moved around his kitchen with a familiarity that he liked seeing.

I’m going to do everything in my power to make you a permanent part of my life.
Driscoll put his elbow on the counter and propped his chin on his knuckles.

“Tell me about your day.” She glanced at him before leaning forward.

Driscoll met her and they shared a sizzling kiss before parting again.

“I worked on smoothing out the song,” Driscoll replied, then shared what else he’d done.

Lila made their food, and while she did they kept touching periodically as they discussed their day and other topics. Their conversation continued while they ate and cleaned up before they headed to bed. Driscoll stared once more, enjoying the view as they ascended the stairs with Lila going up ahead of him. On the landing, she turned into his bedroom and he followed. Immediately they went into the adjacent bathroom then into the shower. In the soft, misty spray, Driscoll washed her then she did the same for him, tantalizing each other with touches. When they were finished they continued the caresses as they wiped off. After they were dry, they went into the bedroom.

“Lila.” Driscoll turned her toward him then took out the hair comb and tossed it to the side before he lifted her into his arms. “Tempt and tease me, huh. I want to do the same but—”

“Screw tempting and teasing me.” She wrapped her legs around him. “I need you now.”

He groaned as she rocked against him, making her wet, lush flesh touch his erection. Driscoll cupped her ass, yanking her firmly to him, kissing her then walked toward the bed and when he hit the side of the soft surface he laid her down. Reaching for the bedside table, he took out protection. Lila sat up and took it out of his hand before she opened the packet then smoothed it on his erection. Locking his knees at her touch, moaning as she gripped his shaft and tugged in fast motions, he pushed into her loosely closed fist, staring as Lila licked the center of his chest before circling his nipple with her tongue. She sucked his nipple making him scrunch up his toes. Shaking, Driscoll held her head as she moved from pebbled bud to the other giving it the same treatment.

She scooted back then shifted to lie lengthwise on the bed. Lila opened her thighs, arching her back and staring at him.

“Stop making me wait.”

Driscoll smiled at the demand in her tone. He rested himself against her frame then slid his hand under her hip before he thrust deep into her wetness.

Driscoll
.” Lila moved with him.

He shifted back until he was almost out of her then plunged forward again. Lila gripped him with her inner pussy walls, and he groaned at the delicious sensation. Driscoll did it again, over and over. Lila’s gasps flowed from her with each motion as he filled her. He stared at her face, enjoying the play of expressions as he took her. She gripped his shoulders, her nails digging in. With a hiss at the slight bite of pain, he increased his pace.

“Mine. You are mine, Lila.” He punctuated each word with a thrust.

“Yours,” she whimpered in return while matching him every time he plunged into her. “Are you mine, Dris?”

“Yes.” He kissed her, stroking faster.

Lila’s grip tightened before she slid her hand up and down his back. Driscoll kept his motions, loving the feel of her in his arms. Lila ground against him, rubbing her toes up and down the backs of his calves. Driscoll quickened his pace as heat pooled in his belly then went to his sac.

“Lila.” He thrust then swiveled his hips.

Her breath caught and Driscoll lowered his head to kiss her. His sac tightened and he grunted as he came.

Lila held him, moaning as he shook under the power of his release. She arched, groaning as her climax overcame her. Driscoll didn’t slow as he stroked deep into her. She opened wide, sucking his tongue in time with each of his movements. Countering the rhythm he set, she felt her breath hitch as sensations of pleasure flowed over her. He lifted his head—the network of scars standing out against his face as he clenched and unclenched his jaw.

“Driscoll, so good.” She arched then rocked against him while smoothing her hands down his sweat-slickened back, stroking along the scars there.

She tightened around his embedded cock, moving under him. Driscoll shuddered hard before gentling his strokes, and Lila’s breath caught as she stared into his face. The intensity of his expression made her pulse race and Lila’s throat closed up with emotion. She shivered as another orgasm came over her. His gaze softened and Driscoll kissed her softly.

“My Lila,” he whispered. “I’m keeping you.”

Her heart skipped a beat then she reminded herself that although they cared about each other, it wasn’t anything beyond that.

With that in mind, Lila was able to breathe. She smiled at him. “I’ve told you as well as those that work for you about my not being a pet. I can’t be just kept.”

“What do I need to do to make you want to be kept?” He grinned, still stroking inside her.

“Keep taking me like you are and I might be seduced into agreeing,” Lila bantered back at him.

“Oh, I have no problem doing that.” Driscoll partially lowered his eyelids and Lila gulped at the promise she saw there. “I also plan to blend our lives together until you realize that we are good together.”

Lila had to again remember that they were just words with no truth behind them. She couldn’t dare let herself hope for more.

Keep your head on straight, girl. A man like Driscoll doesn’t settle down easily. And you sure as hell aren’t the woman who will make him. Enjoy what you have for now and make memories for later.

Driscoll stopped then slumped against her. Lila kissed the side of his face then pushed at him.

“Let me take care of you.”

“I’ll do it,” Driscoll replied.

“No,” Lila said firmly. “Lie back and take it.”

Driscoll smiled crookedly then rolled off her onto his back. Lila removed the used condom then tied it off and threw it in the wastepaper basket by the bed. She moved back into his arms, lying halfway across him. Lila kissed under his chin, feeling his scars against her lips. She moved down, kissing along the puckered skin.

“When I heard of your accident, I thought
he can’t die
. At the time it was as a fan but now I know you.” She paused then said softly, “I’m glad you survived, Dris. Glad I had an opportunity to be with you. You’re a strange, generous and beautiful man inside and out.”

“Eccentric.” Driscoll kissed the top of her head. “Don’t forget eccentric.”

“That’s the number one thing I think of when I think of you.” She chuckled. “That and your T-shirt fetish.”

“It’s not a fetish. I think of it as a collection. So I’m a collector of T-shirts that happen to have things I say on them.” He shrugged. “I don’t have them made, people who love and care about me do. Each shirt is a memory of that person as well as what happened at that time we were together. Each time I wear one, it brings back that moment and it’s like my having them with me even when they aren’t there.”

“That’s a beautiful sentiment, Driscoll. You’re a memory collector.”

Driscoll stared at her then smiled. “Yes. That is it exactly.”

“How many T-shirts do you have?” She snuggled against him.

“I have no idea. I’ve never counted. If I had to estimate, I’d say over a hundred.”

“Wow. So I haven’t seen even the surface of what you have in shirts.”

“Nope.” Driscoll hugged her. “You’ll have to stay around so you can see them all.”

She yawned, making a hmm sound as sleep overcame her.

* * * *

“Lila,” a feminine voice called.

Lila blinked then opened her eyes. She blinked again a few more times to make sure she wasn’t seeing things. The woman was still there.

“Irene, what the hell are you doing in my bedroom?” Lila narrowed her gaze.

“Technically it’s Driscoll’s bedroom.” Irene smiled, her pale gray eyes twinkling. “And I’m here waking you up before you miss your meeting with the Feds. Also, don’t forget that your budget meeting has been moved up to this afternoon.”

“How’d you know about either of my meetings?” Lila pushed her hair back from her face.

“Your assistant, now that I’ve been helping out, was gracious enough to share your calendar with me.” Irene leaned back on her heels where she knelt by the bed.

“I’m gonna have to have a talk with her.” Lila sat up and the sheet pooled around her waist. She glanced at the bed beside her—Driscoll was still sleeping. She poked him in the shoulder.

He grunted and turned his head, pushing his hair away from his face, showing one eye. “What?”

His sleep roughened voice made her pulse race.

“Irene is here reminding me of my meetings,” Lila said sweetly.

“And you’re flashing her your breasts.” Driscoll rolled onto his back. “Should I ask why or is this one of those ‘it’s better I not ask’ moments?”

“Hey, if she wants to come wake me up when I’m naked then she might happen to see my girly bits.” Lila glared at Irene. “Since you haven’t moved, I’m guessing you’re not leaving until I get out of bed.”

“Nope.” Irene smirked. “Don’t want to chance that you decide to jump Driscoll for some morning nookie and miss your appointments.”

“Damn, that’s what I was planning, too.” Lila stretched, arching her back. “Give me my robe.”

“I’ve got it,” Aida said from the doorway.

“Oh, God… Here comes the other one.” Lila rolled her eyes. “What do you want?”

“Humph… I see someone isn’t a morning person.” Aida glanced at Irene. “Make note of that.” She focused back on Lila as she grabbed the robe off the chair and came toward her, carrying a cup. “I brought you some coffee.”

“Gimme.” Lila snatched the cup and blew on it then sucked it down.

“You’re going to burn your mouth,” Driscoll pointed out.

She turned her head, still drinking. He slid up the bed to lean against the headboard. Lila lowered the cup, appreciating his male torso before she looked to the sheet that covered his bottom half.

“Uh-huh,” Irene said then grabbed the cup from her before she pulled her out of the bed. “No time for that.”

“Hey.” Lila stumbled back then got her footing and stood by the bed before turning on Irene.

She didn’t have the cup and Lila noticed it was on the bedside table. Lila lifted her fist, but before she could throw the punch, Aida placed the robe over her shoulders. Lila shrugged into the garment and belted it. She lifted her fists again.

“I’m gonna deck you.”

“No time for that either,” Irene said.

“Get a shower and get ready,” Aida urged. “I’ve laid out something for you to wear.”

Lila looked toward the closet and saw the yellow and brown suit she’d planned to wear hanging there. Her shoes were below it. She sighed. “Let me guess, my assistant also told you what I was wearing to my budget meeting.”

“Yep. She says you call it your ‘gimme what I want’ suit.” Irene laughed. “Also the ‘don’t fuck with me’ heels.”

“No one better fuck with you but me,” Driscoll said.

“This is not the time to be thinking with your dick.” Lila turned to him. “Aren’t you disturbed by these two barging in here and seeing us naked?”

“They only saw you naked.” Driscoll wiggled his eyebrows.

“Don’t use logic on me.” Lila pushed her hair back from her face. “I don’t want them to see you naked.”

“From now on we won’t,” Irene promised.

Lila turned to look at her then Aida.

“Yeah. I won’t yank his sheet off and smack him on the ass to get him moving.” Aida lifted her hand. “I swear.”

“You did that?” Lila lifted her hand then shook her head. “Wait, I don’t want to know. Yeah, I do.”

“He’s cute and all, but Dris is like our brother. We’ve never had those sort of feelings for him. The idea of even… Yuck. I can’t even think it to say it.” Irene folded her arms over her chest and had a look of distaste on her face.

Aida had the same expression then she shrugged. “When you travel in such close quarters, seeing someone naked can happen. Dris and the band aren’t shy at all. If it bothered one of the wives or girlfriends, the man was more careful being naked, but most didn’t care.”

“So seeing him or Stuart or any of the other band members naked isn’t to you a big thing.” Lila tried to understand.

“When you and your friends go somewhere and need to all change at once and only have one place you can, what do you do?” Irene asked.

Lila remembered times like those. They all stripped down to get dressed and talked as they did. It hadn’t been a big deal.

“Okay. I sort of get it. But I’m not bothered if you see Driscoll naked when it’s work related but in private, like this… Nope, not cool with it.”

“Oh, we never do it in private with people.” Irene frowned then amended. “Well, with Driscoll we wake him up but don’t see anything. Aida only slapped and yanked his sheet once in private.”

“We came to an agreement after that one time,” Driscoll said. “They can come in to wake me but no taking my sheet or slapping anything.”

“So we can have the same agreement,” Irene said. “We won’t yank any sheet to see skin—which by the way I didn’t do when I came in earlier. And you don’t flash us with the boobies—which you did do—because although you have lovely breasts, neither of us”—Irene gestured between her and Aida—“go that way. We love men. Now, if it was someone like that fine friend of yours, Storm, I wouldn’t mind being flashed.”

“Uh-huh.” Aida nodded. “He is a handsome man.” She motioned to Lila. “Get moving before you’re late.”
