CHAPTER 25
 

• Edward and Seth gather the pieces of Victoria and Riley and set them on fire

• Bella is frozen in place; Edward thinks she is afraid of him and approaches her carefully

• The main battle is over; everyone is fine

CHAPTER 26
 

• Bella goes home to Charlie; she needs to go see Jacob

Charlie says Carlisle is treating Jacob; Charlie feels like he is going to lose Bella soon; he asks for advance notice before she leaves with Edward

• Bella goes to see the injured Jacob

Bella and Jacob talk about her knowing that she is in love with him, but still choosing Edward; Jacob is her soul mate in this world, but Bella knows she cannot live without Edward

CHAPTER 27
 

• Bella reviews all the mistakes she has made, each pain she has caused Jacob, each wound she has given Edward—so much damage

Edward cradles Bella all night as she cries; Bella sees she has made a mess of things; she is now determined to do things right for everyone

• Bella and Edward go to see Alice about her wedding plans

Alice is overjoyed; she shows Bella the wedding dress

• Edward and Bella go to the meadow

Bella tells Edward she’s chosen her life and wants to start living it; Edward puts the ring back on her finger; they go to tell Charlie about their engagement

EPILOGUE
 

• Jacob grieves over losing Bella; it is painful to know she is giving up everything, becoming a monster—but it would be even more painful if she died

CHAPTER 3
 

• The wedding day has arrived

Bella is nervous; Edward is keeping the honeymoon destination a secret; Alice
and Rosalie work all day on Bella’s makeup and hair; Charlie and Renée give Bella a set of silver hair combs; Charlie escorts Bella down the stairs

• As soon as Bella sees Edward at the altar, all her fears are gone

CHAPTER 4
 

• The reception is in the backyard, at twilight

Edward and Bella greet their guests

• Jacob steps out from the woods; Edward leaves so he and Bella can talk alone

• Jacob is horrified to hear that Bella is planning a “real” honeymoon before she becomes a vampire; he grabs Bella and shakes her

Edward is instantly there; Jacob is ready to kill him; Seth and two wolves shove Jacob back into the woods

• Bella composes herself and they go back to the reception

• Bella says a tearful, loving goodbye to Renée and Charlie

CHAPTER 5
 

• Bella and Edward leave for their honeymoon: they take a plane to Houston, a second one to Rio de Janeiro, and then a boat to Isle Esme

• Edward carries Bella across the threshold; he goes for a midnight swim, waits for Bella in the water

Bella takes a shower to calm down

• Edward is afraid of hurting Bella

• In the morning, Bella wakes to a feeling of pure happiness

Edward is angry at himself—he points out the bruises all over Bella’s body; he berates himself for hurting Bella; she tries to convince him that she is fine, she is happy

• Edward gets up to fix breakfast for Bella, and she asks him if he plans to avoid touching her for the rest of the honeymoon

• Edward keeps Bella busy with snorkeling, hiking, swimming, exploring, and sunsets

Bella tries to seduce Edward with lingerie, bribes, and compromises

• Bella has nightmares about the Volturi and a vampire child, and wakes up crying

Bella wants Edward so much; she pleads with him, kisses him; they make love; Edward and Bella are both happy in the morning; Bella gets woozy; the Brazilian cleaning people come; the native woman suspects what Edward is and she is frightened for Bella

CHAPTER 7
 

• Bella awakes from another dream about the Volturi and the child

Edward has gone hunting; Bella fixes herself fried chicken but it tastes wrong so she throws it out

• When Edward gets home Bella starts throwing up; the pieces fall into place; she realizes she must be pregnant

• Bella touches her stomach and feels a little nudge; Edward is stunned

• Alice calls; Bella talks to Carlisle, tells him her theory; he asks some medical questions and agrees she is pregnant

• Edward starts making travel arrangements while hurriedly packing; Bella doesn’t understand why Edward seems furious

• Bella feels another nudge; she is surprised at how much she already loves her little nudger

• Edward tells her not to be afraid, that he won’t let the “thing” hurt her

• Bella sneaks a phone call to Rosalie to ask for help

CHAPTER 8, BOOK TWO—JACOB
 

• Paul has imprinted on Jacob’s sister Rachel, and no one is pleased; Paul is annoying everyone

• Jacob is waiting to hear about Bella

Jacob spends an afternoon with Quil and Claire

• Sam calls a meeting of the pack; Edward and Bella have returned

Jacob feels the treaty has been broken and the wolves should attack; Sam declares that the Cullens are not a danger

CHAPTER 9
 

• Jacob decides to kill Edward on his own

Carlisle meets Jacob at
the door, and Bella calls to Jacob from inside; Jacob sees Edward, who looks like he’s in agony, half-crazed; Bella is still human but looks sick and haggard—she is pregnant

• Edward takes Jacob outside to talk

Edward looks like a man being burned at the stake; he knows it’s all his fault; he had no idea this could happen; Rosalie is protecting Bella; Edward asks Jacob to talk to Bella, to tell her she can have a baby with him; Jacob knows Bella will reject him; Edward promises Jacob that the moment Bella’s heart stops beating, he will beg Jacob to kill him; Jacob tells him they have a deal

CHAPTER 10
 

• Jacob and Bella speak privately

Bella believes Jacob will imprint on someone and everything will make sense; Bella doesn’t expect to survive as a human; Bella understands what Edward has sent Jacob to offer, and won’t consider it; Jacob feels an addiction to be with Bella, but he wants to leave

• The pack decides the risk of this new creature is too great—they will attack the Cullens

Sam plans their strategy, and uses the Alpha voice to ensure obedience

CHAPTER 11
 

• Jacob struggles against Sam’s order to obey

Jacob is the true Alpha—he was not born to kneel to Sam

• Jacob breaks from the pack; he will stand between the pack and the Cullens

• Jacob leaves to warn the Cullens

Seth breaks from the pack and joins Jacob; they patrol the Cullens’ land

• Bella’s condition worsens

CHAPTER 12
 

• Leah also breaks from the pack and joins Jacob

Leah is irritating; Jacob doesn’t want to lead a pack; Leah wants to be free of Sam
