CHAPTER 7: PUT THAT WOMAN FIRST

Khyia

I sat on the edge of the bed as tears fell from my eyes. I been sick and outta my element for the past month since my miscarriage and I finally knew why. My doctor confirmed that I'm almost six weeks pregnant, I was in denial until he let me hear the heartbeats. Yes, I said heartbearts 'cause there's two babies growing inside of me. I cried because I didn't think this would happen again so soon after my miscarriage; I mean I’m starting school next week, Legacy just gained this new power in the streets, my best friend is in jail, my brother is in Houston and my parents are getting ready to move soon, it's just too much.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to have new life growing inside of me, but I never dreamed it would happen like this. I mean I wanted us to be fiancially stable without him being in the game and me basically being apart of it. I thought we would be married and living comfortably, not bringing our children in the world like this.

"Khyia, baby girl I'm home. Where you at?"

I was knocked from my thoughts by Legacy coming through the front door. I fixed my face the best I could before he entered the bedroom. He walked in with a smile from ear to ear, I guess he had a good day.

"Baby everything’s falling into place for us. I just set up a plan to make sure we set for the rest of our lives," he exclaimed.

"That's great baby, congratulations," I smiled slightly.

"What's wrong Khy? Why you crying ma?" he asked.

"Legacy, I'm p-pregnant," I stammered.

He stared at me with a blank expression on his face, not saying a word. His silence scared me and it made me extremely nervous.

"Legacy, baby say something please," I walked toward him.

He still didn't speak, he just pulled me closed to him kissing me passionately as he lifted me off my feet. We kissed for about ten minutes then pulled back as he stared in my eyes and smiled.

"We having a baby. I'm gon' be a daddy," he asked excitedly.

"No, you're gonna be a father. We're having a baby," I nodded.

"Man, that's crazy. I mean you sure, like you positive?" he asked.

"I went to my doctor and I'm almost six weeks, but the thing is there isn't just one baby. Legacy, we're having twins." I replied.

"For real Khyia, like you serious? We havin' twins," he said.

"Yes lol. Dr. Lee let me hear the heartbeats and was just so...it was amazing. It's just that-"

"It's just that what? Khy why you cryin' ma?" he asked.

"I'm scared baby. How are we supposed to bring not one but two babies in this world like this? I start my first quarter of school next week and you're once again heavy in the game, I know we both got enemies in these streets meaning you're gonna be making moves to protect me at all costs and... Legacy I don't wanna go through this alone," I cried.

"Aye dry yo' eyes ma, you ain't gon' go through this alone 'cause I'ma be wit' you every step of the way. Every appointment, the mood swings, hormones, the cravings, just everything I'ma be right by yo' side," he said.

"What about the game?" I asked.

"Don't worry about that Khy. I told you befo' I'll never let this game come befo' you and I damn sho' won't let it come befo' my seeds," he said.

"You promise?" I asked.

"I promise ma. You just stay focused on school and the pregnancy, I'll take care of the rest I promise. I love you A'Khyia," he said pulling me into him.

"I love you too Legacy," I replied as he kissed me.

I don't know if Legacy really will keep his promises or not, all I can do is just pray that he does for the sake of me and our children.

Legacy

"You know bringing a kid into this world, into this business means you have to be on your toes and alert far more than you've ever been."

I nodded knowingly at Killa's statement. We sat in his office discussing business and I thought it was appropriate to tell him that Khy was pregnant. I ain't got my own pops here for advice so I went to him for him. Not gonna lie, I’m happy about the pregnany, but at the same time I'm scared as shit. This is mine and Khy's first child well not really our first, but you get what I mean. I want us to be the best parents we can be for our sons or daughters, which means I need all the advice I can get.

I felt my heart skip a beat as that thought crossed my mind. I mean having a son or daughter is the best blessing anybody can receive. We lost our first blessing now just a month later we gettin' a double blessing and I just wanna be a better father than mine was.

"You don't think anyone would try to come after Khy and our baby because of the life I live do you?" I asked.

"The drug game is ruthless which I'm sure you're fully aware of. Crossing the wrong people means creating unwanted enemies and if those enemies see fit, then they will more than likely go after the ones you love most. I had it happen to me when Queen was pregnant with our first daughter. I made some enemies and I did somethings to piss them off causing her to be kidnapped and beaten severely. Luckily, I was able to rescue her, but our daughter died in the process. It was one of the worse days of both of our lives when they told us she was gone," he replied.

Damn that's fucked up, I ain't even know they had a baby befo' Chi 'cause him nor Khy ever said shit about it. I don't want Khy to have to go through that shit tho.

"I can't let nothing like that happen to Khy, 'specially with her carrying my seed now. I know I gotta grind, but I don't wanna put them in danger," I said.

"As long as you grind smart then you shouldn't have that problem. I was young and stupid which is how I got caught up, just keep doing what you doing and don't lose yaself in this game while you making moves. Keep her and ya seed first no matter what," he replied.

"What if I decide lea-"

"That's not an option as of now," he cut me off.

"Why not?"

"You could, but where would that leave you in terms of makin' money? You think you can get a legit 9-5 in this economy to help provide for you and Khyia? She got too much pride to ever get government assistance, and you ain't made nearly enough bread to just up and leave the game. Plus, I know Luke turned over his 5% to you and you don't have a leader strong enough or mentally ready to take on what you trying to build," he said.

Damn he right, but how I'm supposed to handle all this and keep my promises to Khy about not gettin' caught in this street life? I guess Killa must've read my mind 'cause he spoke up once again.

"Look Legacy, I can lie to you and say it's gon' be easy running these streets and being there for Khy like she need you to be, but it ain't. Being a druglord comes with alot of responsiblity, you got a team of workers you gotta keep track of, new territories that you controlling, as well as keepin' ya ears to the street for unwanted enemies and-"

"Already got enough enemies at our necks and I kno' I'm only gon' gain more as time go on. I just don't wanna put Khy and our unborns in danger," I said.

"So it's twins huh?" he asked smiling slightly.

"Yea man, it's crazy that we lost one and gain two," I chuckled.

"Legacy, you like a second son to me and I know how much you care about Khyia. This game gon' bring alot of drama for the both of you and at some point you'll have to make some choices to make her happy, just make sure when the time comes that you make the right choice," he said.

"You think Khy gon' stick by me the way Queen stuck by you?" I asked.

"My daughter loves you the same way Queen loved me, the only way you can know if Khy will remain by your side no matter what is to show her that no matter how much power you have in this game, her and the babies come first always," he said.

I just nodded lettin' him know that I understood what he was saying. I gotta keep Khy and our kids first no matter how hard it is; the dope game can't come before them. After talkin' to Killa for a few hours, I got a call from Marco to meet him and the boys at the warehouse.

CHAPTER 8: UNEXPECTED COMEUP

Marco

"So how we supposed to do this shit?" Rook asked.

We was out in Presidential waitin' for the girls to roll up. Me and my niggas had gotten a location on this Trey nigga and his crew, now all we had to do was get them niggas and it'll be mission accomplished.

"As soon as Tasha and her girls roll up, we gon' send 'em in so they can get the niggas gassed up like they gon' fuck, then we bust in and start snatchin' shit up," I replied.

"Meeks say they like five minutes away and Peanut got the van to take them niggas back to the warehouse," Rook said as my phone buzzed.

I checked the id to see Legacy callin' he must already be at the spot.

"Aye boss, you at the spot?" I asked.

"On my way there. Where ya’ll at?" he asked.

"In Presidential, Snipe sendin' the girls in now," I replied.

"Good, it shouldn't take long to get them niggas outta there. Handle this shit and call when ya get here." he said.

"Already, be there in thirty minutes." I said before hangin' up.

"They in, now what?" Dyme asked.

"Tasha gon' send a text when they ready for us, so for now we wait," I said.

They nodded and I turned the radio on as Kevin Gates word around town blasted through the speakers. I wanted to fire up a L so bad, but I knew we had to be clear minded in order to get this shit right. Five minutes later my phone buzzed wit' the text from Tasha for us to move. Wit'out a minute of hesitation we was out the ride wit' our gats locked and ready to go.

We moved up the driveway to the front door and kicked it in. When we got inside, it was drugs and money everywhere like how stupid can these niggas be. smh

"Everybody on the fuckin' ground now! Anybody move I'll blow a hole in ya fuckin' head. Rook...Dyme tie these muhfuckas up, Bone...Snipe get the drugs and money," I said.

I walked over to the nigga I know fa'sho is Trey and stood in front of him as my girl Tasha held the gun to his head while my sister Meeks tied him up.

"So you the nigga sendin' shots at M.S.K. huh?" I asked.

"And who the fuck 'posed to be lil nigga?" he mugged me.

"I'm the nigga that just might be endin' ya life today. Now anymore questions bitch ass nigga?" I smirked.

"I know who sent ya’ll, I just hope ya kno' it's war if I die," he said.

"Let the war begin nigga. Get these muhfuckas outta here," I replied.

If it's a war he wanna start then he better make sure his soliders is ready before they come in for battle.

Legacy

Wifey: What time will you be home? (sent 2:30 a.m.)

Me: Thirty minutes to an hour I promise. (sent 2:35 a.m.)

Wifey: Be careful...I love you. (sent 2:40 a.m.)

Me: I love you too baby girl, see you soon. (sent 2:44 a.m.)

I locked my phone and laid my head back against the seat. I don't like bein' out this late while Khy at the crib alone, we both got enemies out'chea from the shit we did, and anybody can try to slip past our security gates, break into the crib, and do whatever to her and the babies. Sometimes, I wonder if bein' in this street life worth all the hassle. I mean the money is good, but I worry about mine and her safety constantly.

I don't wanna lose her, my kids, or myself to these streets under no circumstances.  Which means I gotta eliminate as many enemies and threats as I can before they eliminate us startin' wit' this nigga Trey and his crew. I slide my phone in my pocket, then exit my truck, and walk inside the warehouse. Once inside, I see Rook, Snipe, and Marco around a table covered wit' guns, drugs, and money. Where the hell they get this shit from?

"Yo, what's all this here?" I asked.

"Oh this...this here is about ten full bottles of promenthezine wit' codine, twelve bricks of kush, over 300 ecstacy pills, 250 xanax bars, 200 oxycodone pills, and five kilos of powder," Snipe said.

"And this here is over $150,000 in cash my nigga, plus we snatched seven .9mms, four M16s, three rifles, five saw off shotguns, two 380s, and a grenade launcher. On my moma, them niggas was loaded." Rook added.

"Damn they was packin' like that fa'real?" I asked shocked.

"Boss, the shit shocked us too, then the niggas had it out in the open like they wasn't worried 'bout shit," Marco replied as I shook my head.

Niggas like Trey and his crew is dumb as fuck yo. Like fa'real who keeps this type of shit out in the open, in the same place they lay they damn head. One time could've kicked in the do', and booked all their asses on drug trafficking and firearm charges.

"Shit look like we got some new product on our hands which means mo' money for us," I smirked.

"True, true but what we gon' do wit' them niggas in the back?" Rook asked.

"Duh nigga, we gon' kill them niggas and get rid of the bodies the fuck!" Snipe exclaimed.

"I'ma let you handle that while me and Marco get this shit outta here. When it's done, hit my line so I can send a clean up crew to handle the mess," I said.

"Already my nigga do ya thang 'cause a yungin' finna enjoy this shit. Time to show these niggas that M.S.K. ain't the niggas to play wit'," Snipe replied cockin' his gun.

I just shook my head while me and Marco packed up the shit so we could move it to one of my duck off spots, then I can get home to Khy. I kno' Rook and Snipe can handle this Trey shit which means me or Luke not havin' to get no mo' blood on our hands. Trey and his crew is just one enemy down though...we always got mo' to come.
