“What do you mean inside our building?” Irina spoke her voice now full of concern. “The males are in danger, especially the little ones, we must drive them out!”

“The children were killed moments ago your majesty. The attackers took their heads and threw them out of our door.  I do not know about Josef, he may still live.”

Irina bolted upright with rage in her eyes. She went out of the front door and charged the building the vampires lived in. As she was running she could see her dead sisters on the ground and two small heads. Looking at this made her angrier as gunfire erupted all around her. Irina leaped and crashed into the second story of the building she lived in, right into a room full of four surprised men.

Irina was holding nothing back as she punched the first man directly in the nose. She could feel his skull shatter as her fist nearly passed all the way through it. Irina slung the man at one of his comrades and launched herself into another. Irina used him as a shield as she felt gunfire shred his body. Irina used the man as a ram and pinned the shooter against the wall. The man who got his comrade thrown into him was just getting to his feet when Irina came and snapped his neck. While Irina was doing this she heard the telltale click of an empty gun.

Irina turned towards the man who was fumbling with putting another clip into his weapon. Before he rammed it in Irina snatched the weapon away. The man threw a punch which Irina caught and crushed his fist, smiling as she could hear the bones break. Irina grabbed the man by the throat and lifted him off of his feet.

“Please, I have a family. I surrender; I don’t want to fight anymore!” The man cried as Irina tightened her grip. That was the last words he spoke as Irina crushed his windpipe and left him to die.

Irina then made her way down stairs and saw the men were in disarray. Some of them saw her before she killed them, but most of them had no idea who their killer was. Before long the down stairs was cleared and Irina stepped out the door and motioned for all of her vampires to join her.

“Irina I thought you were dead!” Annova cried. “I saw the way that woman hit you before you fell.”

“Calm down and pay attention.” Irina spoke looking at her gathered vampires. “Our boys have been killed.”

Irina never got the chance to finish what she had to say as her remaining vampires all started shouting. She could see the rage in their eyes and wanted their bloodlust stated.

“Half of you stay here with me to search this building.” Irina spoke while looking at her coven. “The other half go out with Annova and help the humans. I want no hostages and no survivors, kill as many of them as you can.”

Irina searched the building and did not find any of the men except in near Josef’s room. The vampires she had left to protect him lay dying by the door. At least Irina thought it was one of her vampires, as the figure was horribly burned. The smell of charred flesh sickened Irina as the man turned to face her.

“I was getting tired of trying to break down this door anyway.” The man said and smiled, “Hopefully you will be more fun than this one, she didn’t scream all that much when I barbequed her.”

The man then started walking towards Irina. He held his hands out in front of him, and Irina could see they were glowing white hot. The man started dragging one of his hands along the wall as he walked, the concrete started melting under the heat. The man stopped and took a chunk out of the wall and let the concrete melt and drip between his fingers.

“Your highness, how are we going to stop him?” Irina heard one of the vampires behind her say.

“Do not worry,” Irina spoke still facing the man who now stopped and was smiling wickedly. “This was a trap set for me; this human could have gotten into Josef’s room and killed him a long time ago. I will handle this.”

“You set this trap to take out the leader of the Vampires, and now you got her.” Irina said to the man. “It is too bad your master will not be around to see your defeat.”

“So you figured it out huh?” The man said grinning. “This shouldn’t take too long, I am going to get a chance to finally kill me some vampire royalty! You have any last words before you burn?”

“How dare you speak to me in such a fashion human!” Irina spoke her body shaking with rage. “You think a mere human can take me on? Come; see what it is like to face one of the daughters of Drac.”

The man charged as he let out a scream. Irina jumped back and spit directly into his eye. The man stumbled forward and then fell face first, his body going into convulsions. Irina casually walked towards him and looked down at the man. She looked back at the two vampires that were with her.

“Tie this disrespectful human up. Make sure to tie his hands to his face and make sure he can’t just wiggle them free.”

“Of course your majesty. Can I ask what for?” One of the vampires spoke.

“If he tries to use his power, this fool will melt his face clean off. I will teach this human what it means to challenge a vampire. Strip him and tie him down in Josef’s room. I will let him know he has a new toy.”

Irina then knocked on Josef’s door and waited until he opened it. It was likely Josef had seen the whole exchange since his room and the hallway leading to it was monitored.

“I suppose the thing to do would be to thank you for sparing my life”, Josef spoke to her. “But being held a prisoner by a child is tempering my good manners.”

Irina back handed Josef across the room. He got up slowly, looking her way with shock across his face.

“I am in charge here and you will do well to remember it.” Irina spoke as she moved towards him.

“I am over 2000 years old you trollop.” Josef stared at her, inches away from her face.

“I don’t care how old you are, we females are no longer your slaves. You would do well to remember it.” Irina then punched Josef in the stomach. She put enough power into it to double him over but not kill him, as male vampires were no stronger or resilient than normal humans. Josef stayed on the ground and started weeping. Irina sat down and cradled his head wiping away his tears.

“I know it is hard on you, but I what you do is for the good of our kind.” Irina spoke softly into his ear. “Cheer
up, I am bringing you something to take your mind off of things.” Irina smiled as she saw the man tied to Josef’s bed. “If this toy isn’t to your liking, I can always get rid of it and bring you another one.

Irina then got up and headed out of Josef’s room. “You two stay
here, protect him with your lives.” Were her last words as she went into the lobby of her building, the intruders’ bodies still littering the floor. Irina walked outside and saw the group of vampires that cleared their building with her.

“All of you stay here and protect this building at all cost; I will see how our sisters are fairing.”

Irina then turned to walk towards the park when a second explosion went off towards the park. Irina ran towards the park when she saw a human wearing armor run past her. Irina was torn between chasing the human or seeing to her sisters. Irina decided to run after the female, who definitely moved faster than a normal human. As Irina tackled her to the ground, she felt a pulse of electricity and let the woman go. Irina quickly got to her feet and saw the woman disappear through the exit. Irina looked around. The only other vampires Irina saw was one of her dead sisters. Irina wanted to weep at the lost in her numbers when the Principals voice came over the loud speaker, asking everyone to meet in the park.

Irina went to the park and had a hard time finding all of her fellow vampires, as they were mixed in with everyone else. Irina finally found Annova and pulled her to the side.

“I am glad to see you well, did any of them survive?”

“We killed all we saw Irina, except for the one that android brought in.” Annova replied, her voice still full of a mixture of rage and sadness. “The thing did not even have a head as it walked by
me, it must be controlled by the principal somehow. There is one other thing I think you want to hear.”

“I do not think there is anything else I need to hear, your orders were to kill them all” Irina spoke as she walked away, not caring to hear the principal’s speech.

“I know where he is being kept, and I have information on that human Cory.” Annova spoke before continuing. “But if you don’t want to know I won’t waste your time.”

Irina took a deep breath and blew it out slowly. Annova was her friend before they were vampires. Irina did not know her true nature at the
time, she just figured the girl suffered from some type of skin disease.

“Okay what is your information Annova? I am not in the best of moods considering our losses. I am just glad Delores was not here.”

“Well Vikonika was hurt during the fighting, and lost a bit of blood. Guess who carried her in covered head to toe in her blood?”

“Did you see any cuts or anything on him?”

“Well no, but he had to have some, I mean we were in a fight!”

“So that means no, you didn’t see anything. He could be just extremely lucky. Now where is this prisoner?”

“The only place he could be, in the holding cell.”

“That is where I will be. Meet me in the infirmary with a count on how many sisters are injured and how many we lost.”

Irina then went to the basement and attempted to get at the man she saw there. She saw the strange light the Principal uses when fights break out shining on the man. Irina felt it best to wait for the principal to show. The two human twins came in first. Irina was aware one of them could read her mind, so instead she focused nothing but evil thoughts towards the man. Irina would have been crying if she wasn’t so angry. The twins looked at her and backed away with one the twins pulling the other in a corner and whispered something to her. It wasn’t long after that the principal walked in with the human Cory.

Irina could see that he had a pretty good cut on one of his hands. Irina let her thoughts flow back to the man as he was being interrogated, as she could not think here in peace, she never knew who might be listening.

After the interrogation Irina was upset as she got into the elevator with the principal. She did not bother to hide her frustration and fantasized about how easy it would be to rip everyone in the elevator apart; as even the mind reader couldn’t avoid her in here. She smiled as the female wizard pasted herself on the other side of the elevator taking her sister with her. When the elevator door opened, the principal stayed on as the females quickly made their way out of the school. Irina turned towards the vampire infirmary when she saw the human Cory enter the men’s latrine. She saw Annova down the hall and smiled, motioning her to follow. Irina then stepped into the men’s room.

CHAPTER 17

Feelin Good

I stood in shock at what had just transpired. The elevator door opened and we stepped out. The twins brushed pass me without saying good bye and I headed for the bathroom. I went up to the urinal and started handling my business when I suddenly got the feeling that I was not alone, that someone was watching me. I glanced at the urinals on the side of me and saw no one, but still had that icky feeling. I gave it two shakes and zipped up.  I then turned around and walked right into Irina.

“We must talk human”, Irina spoke, seemingly oblivious that she was in the men’s room.

“Get out of here!” was all I could muster, reeling from the shock that she was in the men’s room.

“I see you do not want to kiss me anymore, do I scare you?” Irina asked.

I had forgotten all about our earlier encounter. Irina had a wild look in her eyes. I had personally saw her rip the arms off someone and beat them to death with it. If that didn’t spell out she was not the chick to be messed with I didn’t know what did. I admit I was intimidated as she stepped closer, this time in my personal space. I backed up off of her
and pressed up against a wall. The bathroom door then opened.

Unfortunately it was two more Vampires, not someone looking to relieve themselves. They fanned out behind Irina. I wasn’t sure what they wanted, but I was going to scream my butt off if they attacked me.

“Annova”, Irina spoke, “Are you sure you saw this one covered in Svetlana’s blood?”

The Vampire I saw earlier began to speak, “I am sure, he was absolutely covered in her blood and had scrapes all over. I did not see any negative effects he had from her blood.”

“So human, it appears you may be more than you seem.” Irina spoke continuing on “I may have a use for you.”
