Chapter Eleven

It’s the bottom of the eighth, the Sox are up by two runs, the sun is beginning to set and there is a cool fall breeze in the air, which has Lexi snuggled up close to my chest seeking my warmth. She’s been sitting in my lap since the fifth inning, when the temperature started to drop, or at least that is what she said when she curled herself into me. But I don't mind at all, I can kiss her whenever I want and whisper all the dirty shit I’m going to do to her when we get back to my place.

Lexi softly glides her lips along my cheek up to my ear. “Thank you for today,” she whispers.

“You can thank me properly later,” I rasp.

She licks the shell of my ear, making my dick twitch. “Mmmm with pleasure,” she purrs. “I’m gonna go get another beer, you want one? Or maybe I should just get you a glass of ice water.” She giggles, rubbing her ass against the growing bulge in my pants. Fucking tease.

She gets up from my lap, giving me a sly grin before she starts walking toward the stairs. I know exactly what she is doing, she wants me good and riled up so I’ll give her the pounding of her life, which is exactly what I am going to do. Every step she takes tomorrow at her restaurant she will feel me between her legs.

Once she’s gone, Parker leans over Lexi’s seat. “You’re going to marry her aren’t you?” he asks.

“We barely know each other and where the hell is this coming from?”

“She’s the first girl you’ve ever brought to a Sox game, and you let her sit in Gavin’s seat.”

It hadn’t even occurred to me that she was sitting in Gavin’s old seat. I’ve been so wrapped up with her actually being here and sharing this tradition with me it completely slipped my mind.

My dad got these seats the moment after he found out my mom was pregnant with me. He brought us to every single game, even let us skip school on opening day. After Gavin and I moved to LA, we still made it a point in the beginning to come to opening day, but once the touring and the partying started we let that tradition slip away.

Gavin’s seat has remained empty since the day he passed away. The first few games after I moved back to Boston were the hardest, every time I would look over at his seat, I was reminded he was gone. I stopped coming for a while, but after my parents retired to Arizona, I inherited the seats. I was going to just give them to Parker, but he insisted I keep them and start going to the games again as a way to heal. We’ve been going to the games together ever since, but he has never once sat in Gavin’s seat out of respect.

I can almost hear Gavin now…Of course she can have my seat, she’s hot as fuck. I know he would have given me shit for bringing a girl to the game, but once he got to know her, he’d love her too. I think he would be happy to see me moving forward and starting a new tradition with Lexi.

“You’re right Parker, I am going to marry her.” Just as I utter the words I spy Lexi out of the corner of my eye, walking toward us carrying a tray of beers. She has a beaming smile on her face. When I first asked her to come today, I thought she was going to hate it, but she surprised me and is actually enjoying herself. She hasn’t looked at her phone once, and she has asked me a million questions about the game. The best part was seeing her get into a screaming match with a Yankees fan. She's a true Sox fan now.

She hands Parker and me our beers then takes her rightful seat in my lap and peaks over her shoulder at me. “Can I come again?”

“Anytime you want Kitten.”

Chapter Twelve

“What the?” Is all that Pippa and Jen can get out when they see me unrolling my yoga mat in the studio. Eyes wide, mouths gaping open in shock. I haven't been to an actual yoga class in over a year. Now with Jax and his love of seeing how many positions he can get me into, I need a little extra flexibility. And I’m trying to take a page from his book and make more time for my friends. Seeing him at the game with Parker last week made me realize how much I miss hanging out with Pippa and Jen.

“What? Can’t a girl come and hangout with her two best friends?” I grin, taking my seat on my mat.

“Well of course, but it’s you and you are never out of your restaurant for longer than five hours,” Jen says, setting up her mat next to mine.

“I’m turning over a new leaf. I’m realizing that, yes, I have a great career, but my life outside the restaurant is suffering. It’s time I made time for the people that matter the most.”

“Who are you and what have you done with the real Lexi?” Jen teases.

“I for one think it’s great,” Pippa adds, taking a seat on the other side of me. “I see Jax is being a good influence.”

“That he has. I took a day off last week to go to the Sox game with him and it was the most fun I’ve had in a long time. I saw him and his buddy Parker busting each other’s balls and having fun, and I missed being able to be with my girls. So after yoga we are going to go get lunch then go shopping,” I insist.

“I, for one, am liking this new Lexi,” Pippa says.

“I guess all we needed to do to get our friend back was get her laid.” Jen laughs.

“Multiple orgasms definitely helped.”

Our loud laughter draws the attention of everyone in the studio, which only makes us laugh even harder. It feels good to be silly with my girls again.

Later, in the locker room waiting for Jen to get dressed, Pippa and I sit quietly on the bench. The question that has been gnawing at me since I saw Pippa walk into the studio is begging to get out. I haven't spoken to my brother in over a week. I’m still angry with him for giving me the ultimatum, him or Jax. It was childish and stupid but as pissed as I still am, he’s my family, and I worry about him. This is the longest we have gone without talking in the history of our relationship. I was hoping after Jax telling him he loved me, Grayson would reach out and apologize for being such an ass about me dating Jax.

Yes, Jax has a dark past, but that is not who he is anymore. I wish Grayson would give us a chance to prove to him how happy we are together and the good influence Jax is in my life.

I take in a deep breath, the knots twisting in my stomach pulling tighter as I open my mouth to ask what has been plaguing me all morning.

“How is Grayson?”

I can see a look of relief wash over her face, like she’s relived I asked the question first. “He misses you but he’s being a giant ass.”

“Why is he having such a hard time letting this go?” I ask.

“He’s been the one that has been there to take care of you for all these years and, for the most part, he hasn’t had to worry about anyone taking his place.”

“He’s my brother, I’m always going to need him, just not in the same way anymore. Grayson and my dad have always been the stable men in my life, the ones I could always count on to be there for me. But now I have Jax, and he wants to take care of me and I want to take care of him,” I say, letting out a low sigh.

“I haven’t spent much time with Jax, but I see how happy he is making you. Shit, he got you to take a day off, so he’s a keeper. Grayson just needs to stop acting like a fucking child and give Jax a chance. And if he doesn’t, he will never get to stick his dick in me again.”

“Wow, you would really do that for me? I thought you were addicted to my brother’s penis?” I say with a giggle.

“Oh, it won't be easy for me, he’s got me completely hypnotized by that dick of his, but it’s a sacrifice I’m willing to take to get you two talking again. Besides, he won’t last a day without being able to fuck me. I might be addicted to his cock, but he’s even more addicted to my golden muffin.” We both laugh.

“You’re a good friend Pip. And you’re going to make an even better sister.” I turn and pull her into my arms. If my brother doesn’t come around, I’m going to disown him and adopt Pippa as my sister. At least she supports me.

“Now let’s go spend some of your brother’s money, it’s the least he can do for being an ass.”

“So how about this one for the investors dinner on Friday?” The dressing room curtain comes flying open and out steps Pippa dressed in a pink curve hugging Channel dress.

“It’s a little too conservative for you,” Jen chimes in.

“It’s dinner and drinks with a bunch of uptight suits. It’s not exactly the time to have the girls on full display.” Pippa turns toward the wall length mirror and runs her hands along the pink fabric. It says, I'm a confident, smart business savvy woman, now give me all your money.

After lunch the girls and I decided to do a little retail therapy. Pippa and I have dinner with our future investors for the new location for the restaurant we want to open together, which we are calling Sweet Temptations. They were supposed to give us the green light last week, but they are now showing concerns that our concept is too big of a risk. We’re hoping if Pippa and I both work our magic at this dinner, we can sway them to our side and convince them that this new place will be great.

As Pippa and Jen continue to argue over Pippa’s dress, I hear my phone ringing from inside my purse. I reach down and pull it out and see Jax’s dimpled face lighting up the screen. I sneak into one of the dressing rooms and answer his call.

“Hi baby.”

“Hey babe, I just left the restaurant. I was going to surprise you and stop by and have lunch, but Jackie said you took the afternoon off. Where are you?”

“I’m out shopping with Pippa and Jen. We’re trying on dresses for this dinner Pippa and I have with our investors on Friday.”

“I’m glad you are taking some time to spend with your friends.”

“Now I’m a little sad I missed seeing you,” I pout. “But it did give me a chance to find a little surprise to wear for you tonight when I get home.” I grin to myself.

“Surprise, huh? I want to see,” he growls into the phone.

“If I show you now then it won’t be a surprise,” I tease.

“Let’s be honest Lex, after spending an entire day away from you, I’m not going to pay attention to what you are wearing as much as I just want you out of it. So you might as well show me now before it’s in shreds on my floor later.”

“Okay, give me a minute to change.” I hang up the phone and sneak out of the dressing room to grab the lingerie I picked out. A light blue silk lace bra and thong set. I slide the curtain shut and, once concealed, I quickly undress and slip on the scanty garments. I pose in the mirror, blowing a kiss as I take the picture. I hit send and wait for his reply.

When I don't hear back from him, I get dressed and head back out to wait to see what dress Jen is trying on. Ten minutes goes by and still no response from Jax. I wonder if he doesn’t like what I picked out.

I’m helping zip up Pippa in another dress when I hear the sales girl outside the dressing room yelling at someone, “Sir you can’t go in there, that's the women’s dressing rooms.”

Next thing I see in the mirror is Jax barging through the entry way. Without a word he picks me up and throws me over his shoulder.

“Jax, what the hell are you doing?” I squeal.

He reaches into his back pocket pulling out his wallet. He whips out his credit card and tosses it onto the bench.

“Use this to pay for whatever she picked out and bring her shit over to my apartment later. And drinks are on me after you’re done shopping. Good afternoon ladies.”

Jax turns and stalks out of the store with me still hanging over his shoulder. I can’t see their faces, but I'm sure the people walking the same streets are wondering what the fuck is going on. We make it to the parking lot to Jax’s black Ford truck. He opens the door and tosses me into the back then gets into the driver’s seat and starts the engine.

“What the hell was that about?” I ask, peeking my head over the front seat. “And how did you even know where to find me?”

“I tracked your phone, I couldn’t help myself. After I saw the picture you sent, I couldn’t wait another second to rip you out of it. No way was I going to last the day with this hard-on you gave me,” he says grabbing his cock through his jeans.

“You are such a Neanderthal. We have sex NOW, errrrrr,” I grunt in my best caveman voice.

“You didn’t exactly put up much of a fight,” he counters. Cocking an eyebrow up at me through the rear view mirror.

“You got me there. I’ll admit, I kinda like it when you go all caveman and just take what you want. Reminds me of the first night we met.”

He gives me a knowing wink as he weaves through traffic. “I knew it then and I still know now, I will always want you.”

His words bring a smile to my face. I hope with all my heart that the desire we have for each other never fades.

Fifteen minutes later we arrive at my building. Jax’s little stunt has me already soaking through my panties, and I can’t wait a minute more to get him into my apartment and into me. The moment I climb out of his truck, Jax has me pressed against the door, his lips and tongue devouring my mouth. Hands roaming the curves of my body. I’m wishing I was wearing a dress instead of these yoga pants.
