“My sister wasn’t happy with me and we fell out and we haven’t spoken much since, but Quinn’s family was there for me and they were a huge help. Now you have your family and Rafe’s family and all your friends. Plus, now thanks to my Phoenix boy you have Demi and me.” That causes Lucy to smile and lift her head.

“I know I have support, but I am just scared of losing this baby as well. I know I disappointed my parents when I got pregnant the first time and I don’t want to do it again, but we are keeping this baby. He or she will have the most amazing aunties and uncles ever.” She looks at me and I smile at her and then kiss her nose. Demi lets out a giggle and climbs over to Lucy and me.

“Silly Uncle Rafe, you kissed Miss Lucy’s nose and not her mouth” she says, while poking my nose.

“I’m sorry, Shorty. I will have to kiss her again.” I go to kiss Lucy on the mouth when Demi puts her hands on both mine and Lucy’s mouth’s stopping out lips from touching.

“What did I tell you about cooties, Angel?” Ryder asks her and she shrugs in an I-have-no-clue way. Ryder shakes his head and chuckles; fuck Ryder Phoenix just chuckled. “People in love don’t have cooties, that’s why it’s ok if they kiss all the time.”

“So you love Mama because you kiss all the time.” I freeze, as does everyone else. I look at Ryder, who is frozen in place looking at Demi. I look at Letty, who is staring at Ryder and Demi. It’s like the oxygen has been sucked out of the room. Ryder blinks a few times and shakes his head; he looks over to Letty who looks as if she is going to pass out from holding her breath and then Ryder finally speaks up.

“Yeah, Angel, I do love your mama and guess what?” He asks her and Demi shakes her head no. “I love you too, baby girl. You and your mom are my world and I am never letting you go. You ok with that?” I see Letty wiping a stray tear away before joining Ryder and climbing into his lap and placing Demi in her own lap.

“I love you too, Ryder. I know it hasn’t been long but I guess you’re just loveable and who am I to turn away a sexy ass rock star drummer boy?” She kisses him and I look to my girl who now has tears running down her face again. I wipe them away and kiss her softly. This woman is carrying my child, our perfect beautiful little mixture of the both of us.

“Snowflake, we need to head out and are you ok to stay here with Letty and Demi or do you want me to drive you home before Ryder and I get to practice for tomorrow?” It’s Tru’s birthday party tomorrow where Inside Noise are playing, so Reeve has been writing a few new songs, plus we have been learning to cover some of her favorite song.

“You boys go, I think I’m staying here a bit longer with Ryder’s girls to learn some baby stuff from Letty. I have a few questions that I hope Letty can help me with. I know the doctors and nurses can help, but I feel more comfortable talking to Letty. Is that ok?” She asks Letty, who nods yes. I place my hand over her flat stomach and she places her hand over mine and smiles at me. “We will do great, Rafe. We have our very own baby Phoenix.

I just hope that our parents are ok with this baby, Rafe.” I kiss her again, harder this time and pour all my love into the kiss, just so that she knows how much I love her, I hear Ryder moan.

“PG brother, my Angel doesn’t need to see that.” We laugh and get to our feet. Ryder picks Demi up and kisses her neck, making her squeal with laughter. He stops and leans over to kiss Letty and I hear him whisper ‘I love you, Sunshine.’

Fuck who would have thought that two out three Phoenix boys would settle down. If you had asked us two or three years ago. I think we would have laughed in your face. I never thought I would have Lucy in my life but I know I am one lucky son of a bitch.

We say our good byes and head for my car. Oh God my car. Am I gonna have to get rid of my baby? Fuck, Snowflake wouldn’t make me do that, right? I can hear Ryder snigger besides me because he knows what is running through my skull.

“Dude, you can keep her but you will need a bigger car once the baby comes.” he says pointing to his Ford Super Duty in red that Demi loves so much. It was a very hot truck if I do say so, he had all the mod cons added which is typical Ryder. I see. Demi's car seat in the back, and I know I need a bigger car.

“I guess,” I say, kicking a stone that’s on this floor and Ryder laughs while hooking his arm around my neck and pulling me to his car.

“Brother, you will be fine. Just think, you will have to christen the back seat of the new truck” He winks at me and climbs into his own truck. I leave my car here so that Lucy can drive home when she is ready.

“Now that, brother, sounds like an epic fucking plan.” We fist bump “I like the way you think. Have you and Letty christened this yet?” I wiggle my eyebrows at him and he laughs shaking his head.

“Nope but we will soon, bro. Very fucking soon. I need her again.”

He reverses out of the space and we make our way to Phoenix Records to meet Reeve and go over a few songs for tomorrow. I know that Jax is meeting us there; he has really gone all out with Tru’s party. Inside Noise will do an hour set and then Jax has hired a DJ for the rest of the night.

“So dearest brother of mine, you are going to be a dad. How you feeling about that?” Ryder asks while driving to the studio.

“It scares the shit out of me, Ry. Fuck I have no clue how Mom is going to react. I know she loves Snowflake but we are only twenty, ya know. I know I love her and she loves me and yes I do want to spend the rest of my life with her, but I thought we had a few years before the babies started popping out. But he is on his way and even though I scared, I am excited also.

I love that little girl with all my heart and nothing would please me more than for her to call me ‘Daddy’ ya know? But I also know that Letty is not ready for that yet. We haven’t been together long and that is the scary part, it’s all happening fast. I am waiting for the other shoe to drop.”

We sit listening to music while lost in our own thoughts. I love Lucy, there is no doubt and I want this baby, but that doesn’t stop the feeling that we should have been more careful, I just pray that my mom and Lucy’s parents are understanding.

We arrive at Phoenix Records and find Reeve in the studio warming his voice up. We join him and he snaps his head in our direction. He frowns at us; he can sense my feelings it’s a triplet thing.

“What’s happened?” Fuck, I have no clue how he is gonna react this this news. I take a deep breath and look at Ryder who nods at me.

“Snowflake is pregnant.” He drops the notebook that was in his hand and strides over to me pulling me into a man hug.

“Fuck, you doing ok? How is my Juciy?” Well fuck me sideways, I wasn’t expecting that.

“Wow, who are you and what have you done with my brother?” I laugh but Reeve has a stern face looking at me. I sigh again and answer his question. “We are scared shitless but we are keeping the baby. We will tell Mom and the Coopers after Tru’s party tomorrow; we don’t want to ruin her day. We went and had a scan today and she is eight weeks and is due in September. Here.” I hand him the ultrasound photo and he just stares at it.

“So, how does it feel to know that you are going to be an uncle?” I ask him. He looks from me to Ryder and back to me.

“This had better be a boy, Rafe. I already have one niece, so I want a nephew next.” He winks at Ryder.

The phoenix family is growing I just hope that mama Phoenix is happy about it.

Chapter 17

Letty

Ryder and I have been an official couple for three weeks. I have only known him for just over a month and it’s amazing how much not just I feel for him, but Demi also. It’s scary but exciting at the same time. It’s the morning of Tru’s birthday party and I know Lucy was feeling a bit apprehensive about facing her parents but I told her the longer she waited the worse it would get; they need time to wrap their head around the news. I look at the clock on my bedside table and see that it’s just past seven. I look down at the muscular arm tightly wrapped around my waist.

We arrive at Lucy’s parent’s house a little after three. The party will start around five. Ryder has to help his brothers set up but he said he could set the kit up in his sleep so it will not take that long. We make our way through the side gate and I see a few people standing around. “Hey Mom.” Ryder kisses her cheek. “Boys.” He nods to them. My nerves kick into over drive even though Ryder has told me that his mom is amazing and she can’t wait to meet Demi and me.

“Mom, this is my girlfriend Letty. Letty, this is my mom, Hayley Phoenix.” I go to speak but she pulls me into a hug. Ok then, maybe this will go better than I expected.
