Chapter Five

It’s been a week since the accident and they were now back
to their usual routine. August’s wound had healed and his bruises were all
gone.

After the night she spent with him, made love with him until
the break of dawn, she made sure there won’t be a chance, even the slightest,
for them to have some time alone. She had already given into her desires, of
which she had violated her own principle and broke her promise. That was enough
and shouldn’t happen again.

She knew August had been trying to have her all to himself
again and she definitely saw the hurt in his eyes every time she avoided being
with him. Thankfully, Sasha was
quick
enough to notice
his actions, she immediately made moves to keep him away. Her sister’s jealousy
was an effective weapon.

The work at the office that day was slow, she had a lot of
free time to think. But she didn’t want to think about anything else,
especially, her affairs with August. What they have, was beyond the normal love
between people in a romantic relationship. It started when she was a teen and
August was nearly in his twenties.

He was extra affectionate towards
her
,
giving her excessive attention. Since she was still young and immature, she had
mistakenly thought that he was in love with her. And so she anticipated every
moment she spent with him.

Their closeness had caught the attention of his parents and
they didn’t seem to like it at all. Scarlet wasn’t their first choice. They
wanted Sasha to be his lover, and hopefully become his wife. Her sister was
trained with the proper etiquette, attended an all-girls school, and was
educated about the inner workforce of the family business. Basically, she was
raised to be the proper wife and effective businesswoman for him.

But the more he was being pushed to develop affections for
Sasha, the more he had stuck with Scarlet. He hated how unfairly the twins were
treated. While Sasha had been living like a princess, Scarlet was treated like
a man. She was taught to become the support, the protector, and the loyal
servant. She was raised to serve the family.

Looking back, Scarlet knew that Mr. And Mrs. Mitchells
allowed them to grow in the mansion for the sole purpose of keeping them as
part of their assets, whom they could dispose of any time if they deem her
unfit. She didn’t complain because what was important to her was survival. With
the influence of the family, no matter how unfairly she was treated, she had a
better chance of fulfilling her dreams. If her mother had not given up on them,
she would probably be selling her body in exchange for monetary support, just
like how her mother lived her life.

The ringing of the phone on her desk broke her out of
reverie. She picked it up and greeted the caller.

“Where are you?”

August sounded mad, his question was more of a growl.

“I’m in my office. Is something wrong?”

He already hung up the phone without answering her. Second
s
later, h
er
office door burst open
and August came in long strides. He slammed the door shut and locked it. The
anger on his face showed her just how serious the situation was.

“Is this how you want to settle our
relationship
?”

“What do you mean?” Oh, she knew exactly what he meant,
however, she wanted to buy time.

“You exactly know what I mean Scarlet. Huh! This is
frustrating.”

He paced around her office floor, trying dearly to contain
his anger.

“What exactly do you want to talk about, August?”

“This won’t do.”

He grabbed her wrist to drag her out of the room. His grip
tightened when she tried to free her hand. Marching towards the elevator,
Scarlet worriedly eyed the employees giving them weird looks. She wanted to use
her skills to stop him, but it wouldn’t solve the situation. It would only
spread false rumors within the company workforce. She was left with no choice
but keep silent.

He pushed her inside his car and gave her a warning look
before he turned around to the other side. The engine sprang to life and the
car zoomed out on the street. She kept her silence the entire time while
thinking of the possible rebuttals she could come up with just so he wouldn’t
win with
whatever argument he was about to throw at her.

They
were
back at the mansion, with
the car parked recklessly in front of the main door. A servant opened the door
for them and watched in silence as she was dragged inside. He was taking her at
the back wing of the mansion where no one was allowed to come. It was
prohibited.

“August, let me go!”

He wasn’t listening to her. Rage had clouded his logic and
she perfectly understood why. However, she wasn’t set on the idea of using
violence to justify his outrage. It wasn’t right and he knew she had never
approved of it. He kicked the door open and pushed her inside. The force he
exerted in pushing her wasn’t all out, but it was enough to keep her off
balance.

It startled both of them. Scarlet’s eyes widened not with
fear but pure surprise. How dare he!

“What exactly is your problem?”

“You! You are the problem.”

She was panting the same way he was. They remained silent
for a moment while staring at each other.

“How did I become the problem?” Right. She was the problem,
still she refused to accept it.

“You can’t make up your mind. I thought we had settled our
differences that night. We were loving each other. We were happy!”

“It was just one night, August. One night.”

“Is it? Can you bet everything you have and say that was
just
a
one-night stand and nothing more?”

Can she outright lie to him about her true feelings? Can she
really fake it?

Chapter Six

Her heart was pounding really fast she could almost hear the
circulation of her blood within her body. August was giving her an ultimatum,
pressing her to choose whether she would abandon the undeniable connection
between them or wallow in despair from throwing away her emotions.

“Can you really throw away everything we have, our bond? For
what? Huh, Allie?”

She backed away from him when tears were threatening to
fall. Now was not the time to show weakness. It was the time to be firm, to
fulfill her promise. She couldn’t afford to break Sasha’s heart again.

“Answer me! For what!” He was yelling out of frustration and
rage.

The sight of him was breaking her apart. She loved the man
since she was twelve. Her feelings didn’t fade even after the incident sixteen
years ago, it only grew and grew until all she could feel was pain every time
she sees him.

“Is this because of what happened to my parents sixteen
years ago? Are you still blaming yourself for their deaths?”

She shook her head. She had been wanting to tell him how she
felt for him knowing he felt the same way for her too.

“You’re well aware of the truth about their deaths. It was
an accident and I just happen to be there when the fire broke out.”

“I shouldn’t have brought that up, I’m sorry.” He massaged
his forehead and sighed. “I’m confused, Allie. I want to understand why you’re
getting further away. I’m with you, but I can reach out to you.”

This was it. This was the moment she would need to let him
go, for good. Fighting desperately to hold back the tears, she bit her lip and
stared at him.

“We have feelings for each other, I won’t deny it. However,
there are forces much bigger and greater than us that keeps getting in the way.
We’ve been through a lot, maybe too much for some to handle, but we came
through it all.”

A drop of tear trailed down her cheek she had to blink a
couple of times in the hopes of drying her eyes. She can’t be crying while
breaking her ties with him.
It won’t work.

“But that was there is to it. We’re misfits trapped in this
awfully huge house with no one else to rely on but each other. We mistook
dependence to be something else. And that’s how we will move forward, we will
depend on each other to survive in this cruel world.”

With that, she left the room and ran towards her own room.
But luck wasn’t on her side that day. Sasha was seated on the lounge chair
inside her room. Judging by how she sat patiently with a glass of whiskey on
her hand, she knew her sister came for a catfight.

“He made quite a scene while leaving the office during work
hours. It surprised me a lot when I learned he was dragging you out.”

Scarlet walked in casually and sat on the foot of her bed.
Tonight, all she wanted to do was cry for her loss, for her future
full
of sorrow and sadness, though she just couldn’t do
that. Her sister was the strongest force she had to tackle.

“I also found out that you had a good night’s rest at his
room a few days ago.”

Her twin gulped down the contents of her glass in one shot
before carelessly throwing the glass away.

“You promised me, Scarlet. You swore you will let me have
him. It was what his parents had wanted. All these years, you have kept that
promise. It didn’t matter if he was hurting, so long as you stayed distant. So
why would you betray me?”

“Sash, I’m sorry. I really tried my best, did everything I
could to keep my promise. But that night, I got scared. I blamed myself for
what happened to him. I was self-loathing and the only way to ease the ill
feelings away was to accept him.”

And she hated herself more after spending that night with
him. Because after he loved her again and again
while
indulging
in their bodily desires, she figured she had deeply fallen for him. She was
torn between her family ties
with
Sasha and her
affection for him.

“Shut up! The past will keep repeating
itself with you around. You have the knack to cause trouble for everyone, and
somehow you manage to put him on thin line every single time.

Sasha pointed her well-polished finger at
her, glaring at her spitefully.

“Is this your only purpose in his life? To
cause trouble and hold him accountable for all your flaws?

Sasha poked her forcefully by the chest,
she had to take a step backwards.

“How do you it, huh? How do you manage to
get all of his attention even if you’re stupid and useless? You haven’t done a
thing worthy of praise but he always favors you and prefers your company. It’s
unjust!”

“Sasha...”

“I work twice as much as you do. My life
revolves around his which he already knows because I make sure to show it to
him every single day. He knows. But he is always looking your way since then up
until now.”

“That’s not true.”

“I don’t need your pity. What I need from
you is for you to disappear from his life for at least a little while. Maybe
then, he would see my worth.”

“He loves us both, Sash.”

Her sister put on a weary smile for her
before shaking her head.

“He
loves
me, but he is
in love
with
you. And I hate you for that.”

“But I stayed away, I pushed him back again after that. It
was a mistake and I’m repenting on it. I am still keeping my promise.”

“Is that so? Then, come with me.”

Sasha stood up and went out of the
room;
she followed behind with a heavy heart. As they walked silently through the dim
halls of the mansion, she couldn’t help but stare at her sister’s back. It made
her wonder as she thought about how the promise came about.

It was the night when a party was held to formally introduce
August as the heir of the Mitchells’ business empire. It was a beautiful night
but paled in comparison to how beautiful and elegant Sasha had been in her
white gown. That night, she was about to be introduced as his fiancée. At the
height of the announcement, August found Scarlet standing nearby and grabbed
her instead. He proudly offered a toast after announcing the engagement
with her
, completely ignoring Sasha who was standing next to
him.

Sasha couldn’t throw a fit for what happened so she settled
the issue with Scarlet. She destroyed everything in her room and accused her
sister of betraying her.

Scarlet knew that if she wouldn’t do anything to resolve the
matter, her sister would never forgive her. She loved her dearly and she was
willing to sacrifice her heart for her happiness. But even so, the years that
had gone by couldn’t restore th
e
severed tie.

“What are we doing here?” Scarlet held Sasha’s arm.

“You’ll see.”

And evil smile formed on her lips as she pushed the door
open and revealed a nearly drunk August emptying a bottle of whiskey.

Chapter Seven

A frown formed on August’s face when he saw Sasha entered
the room, but his expression changed when Scarlet came in as well.

“I can see you badly need company.” Sasha seductively sat
across him.

“Leave. I’m not in the mood to play your games.” August
gulped down another shot.

“Oh? Then how about a bet?”

Both August and Scarlet looked at her with anticipation.
What was she up to?

“A bet. If you could take us both tonight, I’ll leave you
two alone.”

Scarlet saw how startled August was. His hands were shaking
as he nearly lost a grip on the glass he was holding. His eyes even grew wide,
completely taken aback. She, on the other, was speechless and completely
shocked.

“Take us both tonight or forever lose my sister. Isn’t that
right Scarlet?”

Sasha... Let’s settle this between
us. I already said I’m keeping my promise.”

“Oh, I know you will, Sister. The question is, will he sit
idly and watch you drift away?” She took the glass from August and drank its
content. “Hmmm, that feels good.”

The intention was clear. With a little push on the right
buttons together with a good timing, it would be easier to seduce him at his
current state. And it seems Sasha was succeeding. August was now staring at her
body.

“There’s nothing to lose, August. But more to gain.”

“Stop it, Sasha.” Scarlet gritted her teeth.

It wasn’t supposed to happen. August shouldn’t fall for the
trap. He’s drunk. Alcohol can influence man to do a lot of things. One perfect
example of that was man’s heightened sexual desires. He was just a man after
all.

“Am I hearing you say, yes?”

August glanced at her way before looking at Sasha again. He
swallowed hard before nodding.

“But only for tonight.”

“No!” Scarlet screamed to protest. This wasn’t happening.

“No?” Sasha raised her brow. “So, would you rather become a
masochist and suck up all that heartache for that rest of your life? Is that
what you want, Scarlet? Refusing this deal would only mean one thing, you’re
giving up on him.”

That was what she was trying to do, finding a way to give
him up without feeling so torn and broken. But, the thought of him touching
Sasha, loving her sister, in the same way, he made love to her, was driving her
mad.

“Just say yes, Scarlet.”

Was this the only way to settle their situation? Was it?
Scarlet didn’t like the idea at all, but it was a bit better than completely
giving up on him. She shut her eyes and sighed, finally giving in. When she
opened them, she gave Sasha a look she would easily understand. A huge grin
formed on her lips, a victorious smile.

Scarlet watched Sasha as she sat on August’s lap and started
kissing him. He reluctantly responded at first, but Sasha being a good kisser,
it only took a second for him to finally take charge of the contact.

She watched as he held her sister by the neck to deepen the
kiss. The two were engrossed at their thirst for physical contact. His hand had
started touching her body as he kissed her neck. Both of them moaned at the
thrilling sensation. Her sister grabbed his hair, forcing him to kiss her lips
again. But, he pulled away while slowly standing up.

He walked towards her with so much desire in his eyes. He
was craving to have her again and he was willing to use any means to make it
happen, which included using Sasha’s silly bet. He didn’t waste a second to
kiss her passionately.

Scarlet felt wobbly at the intensity of his kiss. It felt so
different from their night together after the accident. He was hungry for her
touch; he was deprived for so long he couldn’t be gentle even if he wanted to.
His actions pumped up the dying flame inside her, so she hung unto him to kiss
him back with the same intensity.

He led her to the long sofa bed at the corner of the room
and with a slight push, she landed flat on the sofa. Her sister immediately
wrapped her arms around his body, hurriedly unbuttoning his shirt. She used his
shirt to pull him down for another kiss, which he accepted without reservation.
He pulled her hair, making her groan while he ripped her dress apart.

Sasha sat on the floor with her head resting on the sofa. He
fondled her breasts with one hand as he gently reached for Scarlet’s face. He
kissed her again, this time he was licking and biting her earlobe. His other
free hand was wrapped around her tiny waist.

The night continued on with August pleasuring both women. He
continued to plant kisses on Scarlet’s neck while his hand slowly unbuttoned
her shirt. Pulling away for a second to look into her eyes, he saw the
reluctance reflecting in them. He knew she wasn’t sold on what he was doing
with her and her twin sister, but if it was the only way to get Sasha off of
her back, he would do it.

And the crazy twin sister took the chance to grab him by the
collar for a fierce kiss. She was hungry for his affection and his touch, he
could feel her desperate needs oozing out from her system. Somehow, he pitied
her and felt the need to make it up to her tonight, just for tonight.

He returned the kiss with the same intensity while hurriedly
ripping the remaining garments off her body, which she willingly helped him
with. The goddess-like body that was naked before him was enough to pump up his
lustful self. He knelt on the carpet for Sasha to suck him. The woman was more
than eager to have him, in any way possible. Her expert mouth covered him until
the sheath which made him moan.

But he had to suppress the growing lust for the older twin.
Scarlet was waiting for him too, who was still a bit hesitant and unsure of
what to do. So he continued undressing her hastily but gently. He led her to
lie down on the sofa, with her lower body facing him. He bent down to kiss her,
savor the sweetness of her love juice that was already seeping out of her.
Somehow, seeing her twin taking him in with her mouth aroused her.

He
bent down again to taste her with
his mouth. He had been wanting to taste her down there, love her using his
tongue. As Sasha continued to stroke him and suck him hard, he continued to
make love to Scarlet with his mouth. But he didn’t want her to come just yet, so
he kept up the pressure just enough to stimulate her. When Scarlet started to
get lost in the moment, he held Sasha by the hair, pulling her off him.

Lowering his body, he pushed his manhood inside Sasha and
started rocking her hardcore. He wanted to give her what she wanted as fast as
he could so he can focus on Scarlet.

Sasha was beyond happy when he finally got inside her.
Though he wasn't looking at her or whispering sweet words on her ear, it was
more than enough. She could still feel his growing member inside her as he
continued to bang her. He was fast and rough, which was what she had always
wanted from him.

She looked up and saw him simultaneously licking and
fingering her twin sister, who was oblivious to what was happening between them
on the floor. Though, she wanted Scarlet to see him fucking her, it didn’t
matter anymore. What was important was, he was fucking her. She sunk her
fingernails on his back to pull him closer to her since half of his body was
leaning to the right.

August pulled away for a moment to look at Sasha, but he
kept his hand working on Scarlet’s womanhood. He was getting really hard inside
Sasha. She was a good sex partner and had ways to completely capture a man’s
deepest desires. Her subtle movements were giving him Goosebumps making him
pump inside her more. He had to let go of Scarlet’s wet womanhood to focus on
pumping Sasha. He was nearing his climax and he wanted to do it right. Their
moans got louder and their breathing became heavier. This was it. He had to
give it his all for the sake of having a lifetime of lovemaking with Scarlet.

His thrusts were rougher and faster; he was almost crushing
Sasha beneath him. But it didn’t matter. He could see the glee in her face, the
splurge of intoxication when they exploded together. He collapsed on her soft
body as he tried to regain strength and recover his breathing as fast as he
could.

“You’re free,” Sasha whispered on his ears before forcefully
pushing him off of her.

She stood up naked with her shoes on. The smile on her face
was both triumphant and defeated. She got what she had always wanted and now it
was time for her to honor the deal.

* * * * *

The following morning, Scarlet woke up in an unfamiliar
room. Her gaze was greeted with the firm chest of her great love. He was
already awake and had been staring at her.

“How did I get here?”

“I carried you in when you were sleeping.” He kissed her
forehead.

She smiled at the warmth of his kiss. The thoughts of last
night after Sasha left the room came rushing in. When her twin sister finally
left them alone, August sat on the sofa and made her sit on his lap. He wrapped
his arms around her firmly and held her in silence for a long while. She didn’t
say anything because she was too occupied with recalling the moans and
thrusting sounds earlier that night while she remained motionless on the sofa
with her eyes closed.

It was agonizing to listen to them. But it had to be done.
For Sasha to finally let him go and for them to finally have the freedom to
rekindle their lost love. What happened earlier may haunt her for the rest of
her life, but she would accept it with an open heart. It was a sacrifice all
three of them needed to make to be freed from the invisible leash that was
binding them.

After a long while, when she was about to doze off, she felt
his manhood growing by her side. And she knew that it was time for them, for
many more nights they could share in or out of bed. When she looked up to him,
he sealed her lips with his mouth right away. They wasted the rest of the night
making love in every way possible until she could no longer keep her eyes open.
She fell asleep without realizing it.

And a kiss from him that morning was such a good way to
fully rise up and brace the new day. However, one question remained.

“Sasha,” she whispered her sister’s name.

“Here.” August handed him a folder small piece of white
paper. When she opened it, it contained Sasha’s handwriting:

Scar,

Thank you for granting my greatest wish. Last night was the
best time of my life and I will cherish the memories. I am leaving you in the
hands of the man we trust the most. He will love you dearly for the rest of
your life and will be loyal to you ‘til death do you part.

I’m sorry for being the worst sister. I made your life
miserable because mine wasn’t any better. Forgive my selfishness. And lastly,
forgive me for almost killing you and August out of jealousy. I only asked them
to scare the hell out of you, not kill you. Again, I’m really sorry.

By the time you’re reading this, I hope you are wrapped in
his loving arms. Depend on him for comfort. I will see you again when I have
already forgiven myself.

Sasha

Tears had fallen endlessly on her cheeks after she finished
reading the letter. She had always known Sasha loved her, even if her actions
showed the complete opposite. It was just sad that last night had to happen
before all of them could be finally freed from their twisted past.

“I’m sorry, Allie. If only I had given her a little more of
my time, she wouldn’t be so bitter and lonely all this time.”

“If only I had been a better sister to her.”

She buried her face on his chest as she cried in relief and
sadness. It seemed that the deadliest storm in their lives was finally
dissolved for good. She could start looking back at the past a mere reminder of
how misunderstanding, if left unsettled, can separate families and cradle
unnecessary grudges.

“From now on, we should live in happiness. Let us fill out
hearts with overflowing joy so by the time Sasha comes back, there will be bags
filled with comfort and love to greet her.”

“Yes, let’s do that.” She nodded and smiled.

Right now, there was one more thing she would be looking
forward to. Until then, she would love the man who had always been there for
her, with all her might. Until then, she will live.”

“Shall we have breakfast then?”

Scarlet beamed at the mention of having
breakfast. She was starving and her stomach had started to growl. For the first
time in a long time, she sat with him on the table to eat breakfast. It was
heart-warming. The sense of belongingness returned to her as they conversed
about their plans in the future.

They both got ready for work when the meal
was over. She wore the same outfit she would usually wear at the office, but
this time she put on a pink lipstick. Her side bangs had grown longer and she
decided to grow her hair long again. It was time to embrace her femininity.

“You look lovely.” A huge smile was on
August’s lips when she got out of the mansion.

He was already standing near the car,
waiting for her. When he asked her to sit beside him on the back seat, she
didn’t object. As they drove towards his office building, he kept squeezing her
hand that was locked with his.
