“Where’s your damn phone, woman?” Ryker all but growls from the other end of the line.

“Ahem, well, that’s a nice greeting, Ryker. I’m good, thanks. How are you?”

“Sorry, baby, I’m still new at this. I’ve not wanted to hear someone’s voice like I do yours. I just wanted to talk to you and your phone’s going right to voicemail. It was starting to piss me off; I didn’t mean to be an ass.”

“It’s okay. I guess my phone died and I didn’t notice. I’ll start paying more attention, honeybutter.”

“Honeybutter?” he questions. “Ah, Kat, did you just call me fucking honeybutter?”

“I sure did. Remember the first day we met? Well, I thought you were gorgeous and your eyes are unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.”

“I see.”

“From then on, I started to call you honeybutter, but don’t worry, I’ve never told anyone. I keep that name all for me.”

“What are you wearing, Kat?” he demands, and I can’t help but be confused.

“What? Why? What does that have to do with anything?”

“Well, now I’m on my way over, and I need to know how many layers I need to peel off my sexy girlfriend before I get to hear her scream out ‘honeybutter’ at the top of her lungs while I take her hard and fast. ’Cause, baby, knowing you’ve given me a nickname is having all kinds of effects on my cock.”

I can’t help but tease him. “Ah, Ryker, what doesn’t turn you on?”

“With you in my life, there isn’t much, baby. I am a walking hornball where you’re concerned. Now go get ready for me, I’ll be there in five.”

Needless to say, I didn’t make it to the library. We spent that evening in bed having amazing sex, stopping only for a few breaks, which were to eat some bad take-out and to watch a rerun of
The Big Bang Theory
, a show we’ve discovered we both deem as a favourite.

Chapter 53

Ryker

“H
ey, man, where ya been? Did you come home last night? I thought you were coming with me last night to pick up the beer and shit for poker night,” Justin questions as I walk in the house. The smell of pizza in the air makes my stomach growl. It’s poker night and we always order from Romano’s. It’s a bit more expensive, but it’s the best in town.
I wonder if Kat’s been there before. I’ll have to take her either way.

“Sorry, man, I got sidetracked.” Images of Kat’s smile, just before she takes my cock into her mouth, pop in my head. “I spent the night with Kat, then had classes all day… Shit, my bad, for texting you to pick up the pizzas, brother. I know I was supposed to pick them up on my way home but like I said I was really running behind.” I defend before he can make a jab. “I’ll grab it the next two times to make it up, buddy,” I say, patting his back. I remember him asking me to do it before I left yesterday morning for school, but like I said, it totally escaped my mind. Kat has that effect on me lately; all I tend to see is her.

“Yeah, asshole. Thanks to you two douches being pussy-whipped, I had to do everything, including picking up the pizzas. You dicks each better pay your halves is all I gotta say. You’re both lucky Max and Chris were around to help, or I woulda been really pissed,” he says, tossing me a can of beer; nothing beats an ice cold Molson Canadian. “I tried calling you and Matty. Answer your phones, fuckers.”

“Sorry, Justin, priorities, buddy.” I crack my beer, smiling as I think back to my night spent with Kat. God, that girl is amazing. Nothing like hot sex and bad take-out.

“Shit, man. You got it bad for this chick, eh? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you like this before. Your fucking shit-eatin’ grin is enough to make me sick,” Justin says, opening his can.

“She’s different, man. I think she just might be the one. The game changer, my motherfuckin’ Holy Grail. It turns out, I’m not ruined; I was just fucked over. I feel like I just needed her. I needed Kat to come along and show me that not all chicks are Melissas and what a real relationship is like. Turns out, I’m fixable, ’cause it seems I wasn’t broken, just jaded maybe. Melissa fucked with my head, my confidence, made me afraid to trust. Then Kat came along.” I expel a laugh. “I know I sound like a pussy, but, man, Kat—she’s amazing, man. She’s repairing me. She cares about me, my dreams, goals, and opinions. Justin, I swear this girl is everything.”

“As much as I wanna make fun of you right now, Ryk, I won’t. I see this girl. I see how good she is for you. The way you are with each other, man, it’s sweet. But I will say this, okay? Just promise me you won’t become that dude who vanishes. Like, still be around, Ryk; don’t forget us along the way. Okay?

“Of course not, man, you guys are my brothers, and I’m sorry about last night. I just got caught up in my girl. One day, when you decide one’s enough, you’ll see how easy it happens. But know that both Kat and I know how important it is to spend time with our friends. No worries there, okay, bud? We’ll still have our guy time. Now enough of this girlie shit, let’s grab another beer and set up the poker table. The guys will be here soon.”

We spend the rest of the night drinking beer, talking shit, and having a great time. I can definitely see Justin’s concern; we’ve basically been the in the player’s club together for a long time.

A beautiful thing about Kat is the love she has for her friends. I know she’ll definitely not stop me from hanging out with the guys. In fact, she’s always making sure she isn’t taking away from my guys’ time when she tries to make plans with me. Just as she knows the same goes for her. I realize the importance of keeping her time with her girls. I really meant it when I told Justin not to worry about losing me.

Chapter 54

Kat

L
ooking down at my phone, I smile at the text displayed on my screen. Yep, I’ve become quite the avid cell phone user since a certain honeybutter eyed boy has taken over my life.

Ryker:
Be there early tonight, sweet girl. I wanna fuck you on our ottoman before work.
Me:
Ryker! You’re so bad! Mmm, okay, can’t wait! Xox
Ryker:
That’s my dirty girl. Are you wet, baby?
Me:
Ryker!!!
Ryker:
x

Despite my initial reluctance, I’m glad I decided to give us a chance. I have to admit, it took a few weeks before the feeling that the floor was going to fall out from beneath me to subside, but it finally did. I’m confident Ryker’s player days are done. I just might be his game changer. Ryker has met my parents, and they loved him. My mom, having already met him over the break, was more smitten with him after we all went for dinner. My dad, on the other hand, took a bit longer, but as soon as he discovered Ryker had a ton of drive and ambition, he quickly saw what the rest of us already had long ago. I think the fact that they both cheer for the Jays and Raptors helped, too. Having agreed to see a game together, Ryker and my dad actually exchanged cell numbers. Talk about a surprise. My parents, like Wes, hated Seth. They always felt there was something off with him. From the way he looked at me to the times he’d be a bit too demanding, even in front of them. Too many times my mother would find me crying at something Seth had said or done. Sometimes I feel I really was naïve where that jerk was concerned.

Other than Levi, I have yet to meet Ryker’s family, mainly his mom, but I know that time will come one day. “My mom is the best, baby,” he opened up to me one lazy Sunday while we were in bed. “I know you two are going to get along great. I want you to know that I will introduce you. We’ll go spend a weekend with her, but I just need a bit more time is all.” Looking me straight in the eye while kissing my chest, he added, “For me, Kat. I’ve never, ever brought anyone home to meet my mom before. I’ve never wanted to. My mom is all I have, and I never wanted to intertwine the two parts of my life. I can’t really explain why, I just never felt that any girl was worthy. I know with all my heart that I’ll be introducing you though, Kat, ’cause, baby, I know you’re worth it. I just need a little time to process that notion is all.”

With that, I smiled while leaning up to grab his face. “Ryker, honeybutter, I get it. I respect you and the special bond you have with your mom. Believe me, I have absolutely no doubt that when the time is right, I’ll be the lucky girl you bring home to meet your mom. And please know, whenever the day may come, it will be an honour to meet her.” No sooner than the words left my mouth, Ryker rewarded me with his mouth all over my body.

He has proven over and over to me that I’m really his girl. He is attentive, sweet, sexy, fun, and most of all, fucking supportive. He is constantly making sure we study when we’re together, that I make it to class on time, and that I get a good night’s sleep. Ryker making sure I sleep, well, it’s by far my favourite thing about his attentiveness; he makes sure to also give me orgasms almost daily. Which, I must say, have really helped with my anxiety and insomnia. I have never been more relaxed or as well rested, and I’ve had a perma-smile on my face for weeks.

Chapter 55

Kat

I
t’s Thursday night and I’m enjoying a quiet house. It doesn’t happen very often around here, I’m relishing in the peace and quiet. Claire and Ryker are at work and the roomies have all gone to their study group. Ryker ended up having to work a few extra hours to help out his brother today, so he was heading in earlier than normal. This is the perfect opportunity to work on my essay about the ways schools can better integrate the use of technology in the classroom. I want to get it done before Jacob’s big game Saturday, because I know we’ll be gone all day. I’ve got my laptop open, and a ton of journal articles spread around the floor and coffee table. Just as I sit down on the couch, ready to eat my dinner, the doorbell rings. The sound startles me because it’s quiet and also because I’m not expecting anyone.

Looking out the peephole, I can’t contain the huge grin that spreads across my face at seeing Ryker standing on the other side of the door. Making quick work of the lock, I open the door and literally leap into his arms.

“Hi, sweet girl. I had a few minutes, and I needed to see you before work. I need to give you your goodnight kiss,” he says as he walks us up the stairs into the living room, swiftly plopping me down on the couch. He begins kissing my cheek and neck. “I’m here ’cause I needed my dinner, too. I’m ravenous today, Kat.”

Pointing to my Lean Cuisine on the coffee table beside my laptop, I shrug, feeling bad that I don’t have anything to give him other than the crap I’ve microwaved. “Sorry, babe, I didn’t know you were coming. I’m eating the lazy girl’s meal tonight. If I had of known—”

“No, Kat, I didn’t mean food. I’m hungry for you. I’ve been thinking about your sweet taste all day,” he says while slipping down in front of me, taking off my yoga pants. “Scoot”, he says while grabbing me by the ass, positioning me exactly where he wants me.

“Oh,” is all I can muster as Ryker now has me naked from the waist down. My face flush and my now throbbing pussy is greedy with anticipation of what it knows is coming. “You’re so fucking hot for me, Kat. I feel your heat,” he says as he slowly begins rubbing his stubble over my mound. “I’m gonna feast on this pussy like a starved man.” I buck as he begins trailing a finger between my folds, lubricating the tips of his fingers. “Always ready for me, such a greedy girl,” he says before taking my clit in his mouth, tugging at the bundle of nerves, causing moans and near yelps to escape my mouth. I begin pulling his hair as a means to push his face further into my centre. Fuck! Ryker adds another finger as he laps at my pussy, eating me like a starved man. Jesus Christ, this boy and his tongue.

“You’re too fucking yummy, sweet girl. I can’t get enough of this pussy,” he says as swirls his tongue around my clit with a perfect pressure—the one that always causes tiny pricks run along my spine, which in turn, causes my skin to flush and break out in a sweaty sheen at Ryker’s assault. An assault where he is relentlessly inflicting pure pleasure on my body with his hungry mouth and fingers. As he moves his hands to grip the globes of my ass, pushing himself deeper into my centre I’m quickly on the brink of an all-consuming explosion that has visions of technicolored dots dancing to life behind my eyelids.

“Oh, fuck, Ryker. I’m gonna…I’m gonna, ah, shh-hit!” I yell out while tremor after tremor wracks through my core.

“Best meal ever, baby. I’ll see you at work tomorrow.” With that, he kisses my lips before walking out the door.

Sated and completely relaxed, I spend the rest of my night lazing on the couch thinking about Ryker. God, I am one lucky girl. During nights when we can’t be together, he manages to surprise me by stopping by, even if it is for a few minutes. I grin to myself, reliving every juicy detail of what he just did to me. Shit, I guess I’ll be working on my paper all day Sunday.

Chapter 56

Kat

“H
oly shit, the tips are going to be epic tonight, eh, Kat?”

“God, Brooke, I was just thinking I can’t believe how busy we are. I wonder what made everyone in the world come here tonight. My feet are killing me already. And it’s only been three hours.”

“Mine too,” she pouts. “These damn boots are killer cute,” she lifts one leg in the air, making sure I can see them, “but, shit, I ache.”

“Ahh, the price of hotness,” I tease her. “They are pretty great, though, so worth the pain.”

“Yeah, Ben’s lucky I love him. He’s picking me up later and he loves me in these boots, if ya know what I mean…just the boots,” she giggles.

“Too much information, chick, too much,” I tell her.

“Oh, whatever, Kat. Don’t you think for one second we all don’t hear you and Ryker in that bloody staff room,” she taunts me. “No one will even sit near that fucking ottoman anymore.” Brooke laughs, and I know I blush completely.
