ANUARY 1994 FOLLOWING AN ARGUMENT THAT ERUPTED AFTER HE HELPED BOUNCERS THROW SOME UNRULY CUSTOMERS OUT OF Mickey’s, a Miami nightspot to which he had lent his name, status, and regular presence. He ended up in a shouting match with one of the ejected customers, with a large, riled-up crowd outside, and also with the police, who arrested him for resisting arrest – a charge later dropped. The irate film star later said in a press conference that someone had bad-mouthed him that night. He explained, “If somebody says ‘Suck my dick’ to me, yeah, I’m gonna get really mad and I’m gonna be offended by it. But I did not hit the individual and I did not touch him.” The club’s name was soon afterwards changed to XTC, apparently because Mickey’s name didn’t draw sufficient customers.
