Cheryl looked past him and to the woman rising from
the desk. “You should be ashamed of yourself. Business manager and home wrecker. You are very talented.”

“You can leave now,” he said.

Cheryl continued talking to Rebecca, “Was there ever a time that you thought, umm, this is wrong. He is a married man, or are you just a tramp who couldn't find her own man?”

Rebecca was dressed and putting on her shoes.

“How dare you,” she said while she was fixing her clothes.

“How dare me, you are the one with her legs stuck up in the air and wrapped around another woman's husband, who is also her boss.”

Rebecca spoke fast, “You have a nerve, what the two of us do is none of your business.”

“Well, we weren't even separated when he started this little affair, now were we honey? No wonder you didn't want to tell me who it was. Did you know that after being with you, he would come home and have sex with me too? Of course you didn't. You must think I am totally stupid. All the nights, you needed me. That nasty ass perfume lingered on you like a cheap suit. It was the first thing I smelled when you walked into the house. Oh, how about when he traveled, he always brought along a box of condoms. Oh, didn't think I knew that either. We didn't use them, so let me guess who they were for. Then one day I called you a bitch. My God, he flipped. Did you know he raped me and caused me to have a miscarriage? You got what you wanted, my husband. But don't get too secure, you're replaceable, isn't that right honey?”

“Get the hell out of here!” he growled at her.

“Gladly. You two deserve each other.” she turned and started to walk away.

“By the way, you aren't that good. She is faking it.”

Rebecca tried moving past Kevin. Kevin rushed towards her before she could walk through the door, “Don't you ever come here unannounced again? Do you understand
me? You have no right to talk to her that way.”

“I have every damn right. She ruined my marriage.”

“No sweetheart, our marriage was ruined before she came into the picture.”

“Fuck you Kevin!” she said as Kevin pushed her out of his office.

Chapter 45

Cheryl reached her car and fell to pieces. Her cell phone began to ring.

“Babe, where are you. I have been at your place for almost an hour,” Matthew said.

“I-I…can we do this some other night?”

“What's wrong?”

“Nothing, I'm just…..” Cheryl started crying uncontrollably. “It was his secretary all along. He has been screwing her under my nose all this time.”

“Babe, where are you? Come home and we can talk….” Matthew said into the receiver.

Cheryl hung up the phone. She drove until she came to the first liquor store she could find. She needed something to calm her nerves. She drank half of the Bacardi before getting home. She could feel the buzz take over.

She staggered into the house and flung herself onto the sofa. Matthew came over to check on her.

“Babe, it's ok,” he said while kneeling in front of her.

Cheryl looked up as she felt his hand on her leg. The alcohol was really altering her decision-making process. She reached up and pulled his head close to hers then kissed him passionately. She pushed her tongue into his mouth, kissed his ears, and his neck. His hands wrapped around her waist. She needed to put Kevin out of her mind.

“Do you want me?” She asked him between kisses.

“Yes, but…” she covered his mouth again with hers. She pushed him back onto the couch and straddled him.

“Take me Matthew,” she urged him.

“But…” she put her finger to his mouth, letting him know with a look that it was what she wanted too.

Matthew pulled her sweater over her head, and hungrily eyed her breasts. His hands nimbly unfastened her bra then pulled the straps down and took one plump breast in his mouth. Her breath came quick and choppy. She threw her head back as she held his head to her.

“Oh God,” she heard him moan.

His primal instincts took over. He needed to be inside of her. In one quick motion he rolled her over and stripped away his clothes while he pulled her legs free from her jeans. She hadn't yet released her other leg before he was back on top of her, his erection pressing between her thighs.

She moved her legs, squeezing his manhood while working herself into a frenzy. “Ohhhh!” She cried out as a wave of pleasure washed over her. He moaned and threw her legs back, plunging himself deep into her.

“Give it to me,” she cried out.

“You like this don't you?” Matthew asked breathlessly. She could only nod in agreement as another orgasm swept through her.

“That's right baby. Give it to me.”

Cheryl tried to find something to hold onto because he was rocking her world. She grabbed his arms, and his moans grew louder.

“Open your eyes Cheryl,” he moaned. “I want you to see me when I cum inside of you.”

His body tightened against hers, his eyes bore straight into her soul, his mouth came crashing down on hers, hungrily searching for her tongue. The passion in that kiss was incredible. He pushed himself into her for another minute before finally collapsing on top of her.

She maneuvered herself from under him, and found a tear rolling down her face. Cheryl thought back to one
moment in her marriage when she knew Kevin wasn't her knight in shining armor on a white horse, but the devil riding in on the black one.

They had just finished having sex for the third time that night and Kevin was still wanting more. She couldn't take anymore and by the time he came again, she was pushing him off of her. They hadn't been intimate since the honeymoon because she had gotten a bladder infection, so at least she had a two week reprieve. But since the doctor had cleared her earlier that day, it was like he was a dog in heat.

“What the hell is your problem?”

“Kevin, my God. I'm sore. Do you not see that I am not in the mood anymore, gosh.”

“Lookahere, you are my wife and whenever I feel like having sex with you, I will, so I suggest you get some baby oil or something, because if you knew what the fuck you were doing, I could get off without having to screw you half the night. I see why nobody wanted to be bothered with your ass, you acted like your shit is all that and it's not!”

Matthew was still asleep when she came downstairs with her suitcase. She looked down on him and picked up her keys, left the note and walked out the door. Did he really enjoy this, or was Kevin right?

Cheryl never felt that she deserved anyone that treated her well. She wasn't the prettiest girl, or the girl that boys wanted to be around. She was the ugly duckling, hoping that someone would pay some attention to her and when Shaun turned out to be the first one, she thought she would be with him forever.

That didn't happen and from that point she didn't know if her standards were too high or if the standards of the men she wanted to date were. Realistically she should be happy with whomever she dated, because like her mother always told her, she was the smart one and she should be
glad that any boy wanted her.

Chapter 46

Matthew woke up by himself and it gave him a chance to think of all that happened. He was finally able to make love to her, slow and easy and he couldn't believe he had developed feelings for this woman. The way she ran her fingers over his back made him smile and the way she whispered and moaned his name just before she climaxed had him wanting more of her. His mind was clouded with thoughts of how he wished his mom were here to meet this woman.

Cheryl was the woman he could spend the rest of his life with. He wanted forever with this woman. She was sexy, smart and most of all she loved her kids. This was the kind of woman he wanted, no; this was the kind of woman he needed in his life and he would make sure she knew it.

He got up and decided to find her because his body told him that he wanted more of what he had last night. His heart told him that he didn't want to be without her. He went upstairs, hoping she was in the shower. He didn't find her. He ran back downstairs, pulled on his pants and as he was about to leave the den, he saw the purple paper.

I need to take some time away. Last night was wonderful. You made me feel like a woman again. I don't know all of the emotions I am feeling right now but I hope you understand that I need to think about all that
has happened.

Cheryl

He let the paper fall from his hand and his mind began to race. He wasn't going to let her get away that easy. He wanted to be with her so much that he could barely drive himself home. He wasn't ready to let go of the afterglow of last night and he would move mountains to make sure that he was able to keep that feeling.

Chapter 1

Matthew woke up by himself. He found his pants and pulled them up his muscular legs, then set about the house to find her. He searched, but all signs pointed to the fact that she was not there.

He pulled his sweater on and as he headed out the front door he found the note. He read it over and over, hoping that it was some kind of mistake but she was gone. Just like that, she left without a word, unless you count the note to him. He crumpled the paper in his hand and went to his car, letting the door slam.

He got home and needed to figure out how he was going to find her. She said she needed time to think, time to sort things out. She always spoke about going to Florida whenever she felt stressed and hoping this is hunch was right, he called her mother.

Spending fifteen minutes on the phone with her didn't help his mood but he was able to get some clues as to where she might be. He showered, shaved and packed an overnight bag. He needed to travel light just in case he was wrong.

He arrived at the airport hoping to find a seat on the first thing out of D.C. to Florida. He hoped his luck in finding a seat on the next plane was going to
continue but seeing the crowd of passengers who had gotten bumped, his prospect didn't look good.

“Good afternoon, I am hoping that you can help me,” he said as he walked up to the counter, “I am trying to get a first class seat to Florida.”

“Oh, sir, I'm sorry. All of our flights to Florida are totally booked. Matter of fact, we have some passengers on stand-by trying to get there. With this weather being what it is, everybody wants to get out of town.”

Not to be discouraged he continued as if she hadn't said a word.

“Well, it's a matter of life and death. I really need to get to Florida as soon as possible. Is there any way you can find me a flight?”

He smiled and leaned against the counter, “I would appreciate it.”

“Let me check for you.”

She started tapping keys and looking at the screen. “I'm sorry, sir, there is nothing. Even if it were, I would be obligated to get these other passengers on first, since they have been waiting for over two hours.”

“Please, can you look again?” Matthew was not above begging.

Again she went back to tapping the keys. She spoke just above a whisper. “Well there is a flight that has a seat, in first class, but it is going to run you at least nine hundred and fifty-two dollars, and that's before all of the fees.”

“I'll take it!” he handed her his black American Express card.

“The flight is leaving from Gate 12 in twenty minutes. Do you have any bags that you need checked?”

“No.”

She printed out the boarding pass and handed it to him.

“Thank you very much, Linda. You just made me
the happiest man in the world. I will never forget this.”

“No problem. Enjoy yourself Mr. Perry,” she said with a smile.

Matthew called the flower shop within the airport and had them make a special arrangement for Linda, just to show his appreciation. After taking his seat, he quickly took out his laptop, and logged into his AOL account. He shot off a quick note to Terry, told him what was going on and for him to call the Sheraton in Miami to book a room. Matthew sat back, closed his eyes and thought just how lucky he had been.

Cheryl woke up feeling refreshed but tired at the same time. Her flight landed late and she was too wired to go to sleep. She sat up all night thinking of Matthew and how she should have told him where she was going.

Her phone rang, breaking her trance.

“Where the fuck are you?” came the irate voice from the other end.

“None of your business.”

“It's my fucking business when you up and leave Kayla with your parents and don't tell them where the fuck you are going.”

“Kevin, look, whatever I do or don't do, is none of your business.”

“Don't get cute with me, Cheryl. I am not going to have you running off whenever the mood strikes you.”

“What do you care, what kind of mood I'm in?”

“Bitch!” Kevin yelled.

She pressed the end button and set the phone down. It began to ring again. She picked it up expecting to hear Kevin cursing.

“Hey sexy. Don't think you are going to get away from me that easily. I'll see you soon.”

She didn't get to say anything because the caller
hung up. It wasn't a voice she recognized. She went to the bathroom and decided to soak in some bubbles for a little while before starting her day.

Biography

B. Swangin Webster continues to birth her characters and is continuously amazed at how “lifelike” they become. They all vie for her attention and will “talk” to her at the most inopportune times.

In 2008, after encouragement from her oldest daughter, B. Swangin Webster dived in head first into the deep end of the publishing world. Although she wasn't a graceful swimmer, she quickly adapted, when Publish America threw her a life jacket and told her to swim over to their company. Her debut novel; Let Me Just Say This was published less than three weeks after submission in November of 2008.
