Read His Little Courtesan Online
Authors: Breanna Hayse
"Don't you see? India has been calling me to come
home, to the place of my birth, from the moment I met you. She has influenced
every aspect of our lives in subtle ways, the most of which left us
discontented with England. She drew you here first, to prepare a place for me
in both your home, and your heart. India taught you how to receive me as your intended,
and then how to welcome me into your arms. Because of India, I have no shame or
fear of who I am, or who I belong to."
"You are mine," Philip murmured, kissing her
eyelids. "You have always been mine."
"It took this place to show me that your words
were true. Just as my being a little girl to you has softened your heart, my
being a grown woman and a courtesan to you has softened mine. I judged you
unfairly so many times. Please forgive me."
"There is nothing to forgive. We were ignorant
children prior to coming here, nothing more. I love you."
"I've loved you forever," Jane crooned,
feeling light-headed in her idyllic state. "Do you remember the day we
met? Father had me dress up like a porcelain doll to impress you."
"I certainly do. I was about fifteen or sixteen,
and bored to tears at the thought that I would have to sit and listen to them
talk business and accounts."
"You followed me to the gardens."
"I wanted to see what mischief lay hidden under
that mop of red hair and freckles."
"Did you find the mischief you sought?" Jane
touched his cheek.
"That, and much more. And you? What were you
looking for?" Philip asked, accepting a grape from her hand.
"A miracle."
"Did you ever find your miracle?"
"I did. It came disguised as my soul mate."
Jane kissed his wrist.
"Are you happy, Janie? Truly happy?"
"I am. And you?"
"My heart is at peace. I am where I am supposed
to be. This is home, and I feel blessed."
"Philip?"
"Yes, sweetheart?"
"Let's do something rash. I want to sneak around
to the courtyard and see what Uncle Rama has prepared as a surprise."
Philip tilted his head and broke into a huge smile.
"Let's do it! It's been a while since I've broken a rule."
The rain stopped as they tiptoed over the path and
dodged under the dripping branches of large-leaved trees. The clouds broke open
and a shaft of moonlight fell softly into the garden, illuminating the gift in
the center.
"How did he know?" Jane asked, her voice
choked as she ran her hand across the white swing that was covered with
pretty
pink and white ribbons, roses and baby's breath.
"It's
exactly like the one you made for me on my sixth birthday."
"I don't know," Philip whispered.
"Honestly, Jane, I have never said a word to him about this."
Jane sat on the seat. "He is the Raja and said it
is his job to know everything. Perhaps someone from back home told him. Maybe
Aunt Elsa?"
"Perhaps. But she did not know that I had covered
the swing with these things. Jane? Look." He held up a single sprig of
jasmine. "This is impossible. Only you and I knew about the jasmine. I had
stolen it from the neighbor's greenhouse because none of our bushes were in
bloom yet."
Jane said nothing, clinging to the ropes and allowing
Philip to slowly push her as he had done when she was just a little girl. That
swing had been the only constant in her life, and brought about feelings of
safety, love and stability. For many years, it had been her companion and
rocked away her loneliness, fear and pain. Now she had Philip, whose love
comforted her, and his arms to rock her.
The wind blew across her face as she swung back and
forth. Movement in the bushes caught her eye, and she squinted at the sight of
an old woman peeking out from behind the leaves. She was wearing a
light-colored sari, and smiled a toothless grin as she made eye contact with
Jane. She lifted a red lotus flower into the air with both hands before placing
it on the ground, bowed with

and walked away into the darkness.
"Philip? Philip, help me stop this thing!"
Jane dragged her feet on the ground.
"What's wrong, Jane. Jane? Come back."
Jane ran in the direction of the woman. "I
thought I saw…" Her eyes fell to the ground, where the magnificent flower
sat in wait for her. She scooped it into her hands and turned to Philip.
"Where in the world did that come from?" he
asked, staring down at the bloom.
Jane placed it in the pool next to an ornate shrine,
and watched as it floated gracefully over the ripples. The
red lotus symbolized the original state of the
heart—love, compassion, vigor, and desire. Its petals, spread wide, spoke
of the beauty and openness of a giving soul.
"Do we really have to know? Maybe it's time for
us to stop trying to find answers and just let what is, be. After all,"
she turned to Philip and kissed him, "we are in India. Blessings and
miracles, especially those of love, are not intended to be understood. We must
learn to embrace and accept them as gifts from above. Will you push me on my
swing, Papa?"
Philip nodded and handed her the sprig of jasmine.
"For as long as you like, my Little Lady Jane. For as long as you
like."

today's world? Keep reading!
Practical Application in the Modern World
TOUCH
The Kama Sutra emphasizes the importance of
touch—not only during intercourse, but through all interactions. The
varied forms of touch are designed to arouse a unique sensation from a partner,
depending on personal preferences.
Do not underestimate the power of even the smallest
gesture; the fingertips brushing a hand, a simple squeeze of the forearm, even
a casual hug or the loving caresses initiated before sex. These tiny touches
can say much more about your feelings than the act of intercourse itself. They
do not have to initiate sexual interaction, but are a very potent method of conveying
emotions. Pay attention to how often, and in what way, you touch—and are
touched—during the day.
DRESS
The Kama Sutra stresses the importance of physical
embellishment. In studying the illustrations, you'll see that every character
depicted is covered head to toe with elaborate ornaments. This includes men!
While the illustrations portray the culture and
traditions of the second century, the underlying idea is the encouragement to
make yourself attractive for your partner. This has nothing to do with what
society dictates as being beautiful, either! Just as you take the effort to
groom and dress up for a special occasion, it is important to look at least
presentable (if not
fabulous
) for
your partner when you plan to spend some time together.
Ladies—dab his favorite scent on your pulse
points, apply a little bit of liner around your eyes to make them look bigger
and emphasize your desire through your eyes, try some flavored lip gloss, let
him enjoy your freshly washed hair and smooth skin. Is there something you can
slip on that you know catches his interest? Men tend to be aroused more by
sight than scent—use both!
Gentlemen—does she had a favorite cologne you
can wear? Does she like you to be shaved smooth, or your beard softened so as
not to scratch her delicate skin? Are your nails clean before you play in her
'garden'? Teeth brushed? Women tend to be aroused by scent more than
sight—use that in your favor.
This 'grooming' also applies to readying your 'space'
to play. The care you take when preparing your sacred space (bedroom, playroom,
dining room table) communicates the degree of importance you place on your
upcoming time together. Take the time to dust, vacuum, and straighten up the
area. Lay out any toys/implements/supplies you might be using (shuffling around
for something halfway through is a major distraction and messes with the mood).
Scent the room, have instrumental music playing at an agreeable volume, adjust
the lighting and the temperature. Have a tray of fruit, cheese and drinks close
by. Make every event memorable. There is no room for complacency if you want to
nurture your relationship.
PLAY
The Kama Sutra points out that there is a fun and
exciting element to sex. Play, teasing and laughter can easily convert a rather
boring, mechanical session into something that a couple looks forward to.
Experiment! Laugh! Make noises! Use toys! Don't hold anything back. Stuck?
Start with trying to figure out how to strike some of those poses we've seen in
the manual. Just be careful—you don't want to pull anything or have to
call 911 to help untangle the human pretzel.
Learn to have fun with each other. Start with
non-sexual activities and build a rapport. Play games, travel, explore
something new, discuss movies, and find stimulating conversations. When fun
becomes easy, no matter what the occasion, the joy will be communicated to
other aspects of the relationship as well.

“I write what I know. With few
exceptions, my scenarios are pulled from either personal experience or
observation. I've served overseas as an Intell Specialist in the USMC, work as
a nurse, and have degrees in Biology (pre-med) and a masters in Psych. Specialty?
Deviant behavior and alternative lifestyles, of course. I put all of this
together and try to bring about a fun, unique and, hopefully, thought-provoking
reading experience.”
