I throw the phone across the room.
THIS NEEDS TO STOP.
I can’t keep letting their feelings spiral out of control. The truth will damage them both but not as much as if things progress further with them again. This fallout will have unimaginable consequences on us all but it needs to be out in the open. Secrets are like a cancer, slowly infecting every good part until there’s nothing but decaying souls left. I hate my mother for doing this to Gaby, to my father, to me. I will be a better parent then she ever was. My Antonia is home where she belongs. I crave her beyond anything I knew possible and now she’s here with my baby growing inside her. There will be no more secrets.
Antonia slips past me and goes to answer her cell in the kitchen. I can’t wait for her. Gavin is draped on Gaby and she loves his attention. I’m going to throw up.
“Gavin, get off my sister.”
They both glare at me. Gavin is intoxicated which makes him brave.
“I don’t understand why you have such a problem with me. I sleep around, sure, but no more then you used to. I’d be good to her. I fucking love her but you forbid us to be together. Why? Why am I so bad?”
I’m going to throw up or punch him out. I can’t cope with this shit. I’ve had to deal with everything and I’m left picking up this mess.
“Why!” he shouts, walking towards me. Gaby grabs at him to hold him back but he’s too strong. “Why can’t I be with her?” he roars.
“Because she’s your sister!” I bark out.
