When I helped their
younger son off his horse, he was going on and on about how amazing
this trip was. He wanted to work on a ranch just like Blackhill
someday. I was smiling at him when I looked up and saw Rhet jump
off Stormy. He locked eyes immediately with me, and had a crooked
smile with his damn dimples. I swooned and probably looked like a
fool, but I didn't care.

I looked over at Chloe and
she wiggled her eyebrows while holding up ten fingers. I nodded my
head yes, and we both covered our mouths so we wouldn't start
laughing.

Rhet put Stormy in his pen
and took off his saddle. We all watched and laughed at the horses
when they started rolling around on their backs and kicking their
legs around. The Pattersons told Cole and Rhet thank you
repeatedly, and said they were tired and were going to retire for
the night. The young girls hugged Rhet, and you could tell he may
have stolen a small piece of their hearts. Poor things, they didn't
stand a chance. We said our goodbyes and promised to eat breakfast
with them before they headed over to the airport in the
morning.

When they were out of
sight Chloe looked over at Rhet and stuck out her hand, “Rhet, my
goodness it's so great to finally meet you!”

Rhet walked over and shook
her hand, “Yes, and you must be Chloe. I've heard a lot about you.
How has your first few days been?”

“Oh you know boring. Lexi
is the fun police and has me on lockdown.” She smirked and looked
over at me.

Cole started laughing and
then quickly became serious. “She can be that way. Chloe it's nice
to see you, but Rhet and I need to tend to the horses. We will see
you girls tomorrow.” He tipped his hat and turned around to walk
off.

I shot Cole an annoyed
look before he turned, and he just shrugged his shoulders back at
me. Rhet gave me a small smile and turned around to follow Cole
over to the horses. I grabbed Chloe's hand so we could head out of
the barn.

“Okay you are right. Rhet
is Jax's twin! Actually, a little hotter but my goodness. I do have
to say he is acting weird around you though. He didn't even say
hi,” Chloe whispered into my ear and I nodded my head at
her.

“I know, I just don't know
what is going on. I wish he would talk to me. I feel like I'm in
freaking high school again. He's annoying...”

“He's hot,” Chloe
interrupted.

“Super hot, but annoying,”
I finished her sentence this time. We laughed and decided we would
call it a night as well and headed back to our cabin.

“What to play Aces before
we go to sleep?” she asked and I said yes, because it's our
favorite card game.

We walked in silence the
rest of the way, and when we got inside we stripped down and got
some comfy pajama shirts on. We got the deck of cards out and
played a few games. On the third game I looked over at Chloe and
finally asked her a question I had been dying/dreading for quite
sometime now, but needed to know.

“Okay, if I ask you
something you have to promise to answer me with the truth, the
whole truth, and nothing but the truth so help you god.” I lifted
my eyebrows at her and she looked at me with a frightened
expression.

She scooted closer to me
on the bed, “You only talk like Judge Judy when it's serious... I'm
a little scared, but okay deal.”

“What happened with you
and my brother last Christmas?”

She fell backwards on the
bed and covered her arm over her eyes. Chloe can be quite the drama
queen, and rightfully so since she comes from a Hollywood family.
“Why? Why now?”

“Chloe, just tell me. I
guess I'm ready to hear it now,” I said and tried to move her arm
away from her face.

Right then my phone chimed
and I stood up to retrieve it from the small table by the door. I
looked down and saw I had a text from a number I had never seen
before.

“
I need to talk to you. Meet me at the large pine tree behind
the barn. Rhet.”

I couldn't hide the look
of surprise when I clicked out of the screen. Chloe sat up and
asked who it was from. I had a split second to lie or just be
completely honest. I went with honest, it's the best policy right?
“Rhet, he wants to talk to me.”

“Hmm talk. I like where
this is going. I say go.” She smiled deviously at me and clapped
her hands.

“Of course you would say
go.”

She stood up and grabbed
me around my waist and pulled me back down to the bed. We giggled
and sat up facing each other. “Lex, never pass up the possibility
of a lifetime love.”

“Look at you being all
poetic. I didn't think you believed in a lifetime love?”

Chloe grabbed my hands and
closed her eyes with a serious look on her face. “I didn't say I
don't believe in it, I just haven't found it. That's why I'm still
looking.” She opened her eyes and winked at me.

I grabbed a pillow with my
free hand and smacked her in the face. She let out a yelp and tried
to grab the other one but I was faster. We started wrestling around
and were laughing so hard we had that ugly face going on. When we
finally stopped, I stood up and told her I was going to go for it.
I grabbed a hoody, because frankly I wasn't too worried about being
sexy. I was still a little angry at Rhet for ignoring
me.

“Good luck young
grasshopper,” Chloe said and bowed to me as I opened the
door.

I gave her a small smile
and stepped out into the cool air. I headed over to the barn and
was preparing myself for the worst. I had every scenario playing in
my head and I just had a feeling it was going to be Rhet saying, 'I
wanted to like you and I think you're hot, but your Cole's little
sister and it's just too weird.' or, ' You just do nothing for me,
and it's better I walk away before any feelings get hurt. We tried
right?' Oh I felt sick and almost turned back around, but then I
came around the barn and saw Rhet sitting on a rock by the pine
tree. I guess I didn't care what he told me as long as he was
talking to me again. Pathetic I know.

“Hey,” I said quietly and
walked over to him. He patted a spot next to him on the rock and
smiled up at me. He's so good looking it's almost painful. I love
that he wears a baseball cap and not a cowboy hat. Many people
think just because we own a ranch everyone wears cowboy hats, but
not Cole or Rhet. I like it on Rhet, a lot. He must have heard me
because he pulled off his cap and set it on the other side of him.
He has great hair too, so it's a win-win.

“Hey, Lex. Thanks for
coming. Were you already in bed?”

“No just getting ready,
but we were playing cards. What's going on?” I asked and couldn't
quite make eye contact yet, but I was ready. Here it
comes...

“I'm sorry,” he said
quietly and that got my attention. He sounded sad so I looked up at
him and he had this pleading look in his eyes.

“For what?”

He let out a little laugh
and grabbed my hand. It felt so big and warm; I got a little sad
thinking this could be my last time I could be holding it. “You're
being too nice. I have been a jerk and I know you've noticed. Hell,
everyone has noticed. I think Tina is ready to broil me up and
serve me for dinner if I don't fix this.”

That made me chuckle a
little, but I thought I would be the bigger person and let Rhet off
the hook. “It's okay Rhet, you're not going to hurt me. You are
something else, but I know it was moving really fast. I understand.
You don't have to feel bad.” I said quietly and pulled my hand out
of his.

“Feel bad? About what,
liking you?” I nodded and he grabbed my hand again tightly, so I
couldn't let go this time. “Lexi, that is completely not what I was
going to say. I am trying to tell you that I like you way too much.
It just took me a little by surprise how easy it really is with
you. Do you know how many people, let alone girls, I have ever
talked about Ella with? No one, not one other person other than
Cole. It's not like I haven't dated other girls, I have, and all of
them have asked about it. I always said I didn't want to talk about
my past, and it drove them to break up with me, or I just ended up
leaving the relationship myself. But with you, it felt good, like
you needed to hear it so you could understand me. It just freaked
me out because I felt something with you that I haven't ever felt
before with any other girl. You are that girl for me Lexi, where
it's all or nothing. I know it's only been a week or so, but I
can't let you go, it would kill me.” He stopped and took a small
breath. I didn't say anything and just stared at him. So he
continued, “I know you just got out of a long relationship with
Brian, but I don't think I can do just a fling with you. It
wouldn't end well and you know it.” He stared at me with such hope
and eagerness it made my chest tighten.

Then something strange
happened, and some primal instinct took over inside of me. Before I
knew what was really happening, I pounced on Rhet like a cheetah
going in for the kill. I ripped open his shirt, sending little
round buttons flying everywhere. I pulled back and looked one more
time at that perfect chest and thought either go big or go home. He
smirked at me and we locked lips instantly. A feeling went through
me like nothing I have ever felt. We were kissing so hard, so
passionately I thought I was going to combust.

He started pulling at my
hoody, yes I was now rethinking my clothing choice, and I finally
broke away so he could pull it over my head. The cool air shot up
my nightshirt as he pulled my hoody over me and stood up. I stayed
linked to him and he started to carry me over to the barn, placing
his hands right under me. I didn't care at that moment if Cole, my
dad, Tina, even the damn Pattersons were watching, I was going to
make out with this man and no one was going to stop me.

Rhet pulled away and
whispered in my ear that the barn was empty, and he started kissing
a light trail down my neck. All I could think about was I was
finally going to see this mystical Greek creature naked, and it
made me giddy and excited. I nodded a big yes and that's all the
encouragement Rhet needed. He walked through the barn doors and
closed them shut behind us. He flipped on the back light so no one
could see there was anyone in here, and all the horses turned and
put their faces out so they could stare at us as we walked
by.

I looked over at Paint and
gave him a thumbs up. He brayed and bounced his head down which
made me giggle. I started kissing on Rhet's neck this time and took
my time exploring it. He picked up his pace and we went to the back
office. He opened the door, turned on the desk lamp and kicked the
door shut, locked it, and set me down gently on the
table

“You are so gorgeous Lexi,
and you don't even know how beautiful you really are.” He let out a
small sigh and grabbed the bottom of my shirt and pulled it over my
head. My bare chest was exposed and he took a minute to look over
my naked body.

He then reached down and
pulled my underwear down my legs and looked up at me. I nodded a
big yes giving him the go ahead, and he leaned down and started
kissing me in a way you only thought was possible in the
movies.

“You need to touch me.” I
whispered in his ears.

“Oh I'm going to touch
you.” He said sternly and started trailing kisses down my neck. He
gingerly grabbed one of my breasts and started to massage it and
pinched my nipple.

That made me moan, “Oh I
hope you have magical Dan fingers,” I said quietly and instantly
regretted it. What was I thinking?

Rhet pulled back and
looked at me, “Who the hell is Dan, and why are you talking about
his fingers?”

I let out a little laughed
and pulled him back to me. “You'll have to ask Chloe, it's her
story.” Which worked because he came down and took one of my
breasts in his mouth and started suckling and tickling it with his
tongue. I let out a loud noise and Rhet put his finger over my
mouth to tell me to be quiet. Instead of listening I sucked in his
finger, and he let go of me and looked straight at me.

“This is for me being a
really big ass the past few days.” And with that he pushed me down
so I was laying on the desk and started trailing kisses down my
body. I suddenly got very nervous because I realized where this was
going. Now I know what every girl is going to say, 'yeah right'
when I say this, but I don't necessary like what Rhet was about to
do. I know, I know, but I just never got it, and it's a little too
personal.

I grabbed Rhet's head and
said, “No, that's okay,” but he just shook me off and continued on
his mission. As he inched closer to my mystical land of womanhood I
decided to close my eyes and take it all in. Apparently, Brian had
no freaking idea what he was doing because Rhet was like the Ty
Murray of bull riding. I have never felt so much pleasure like I
was at that one moment. It didn't take long before I was screaming
yes, repeatedly. Rhet placed his entire hand this time over my
mouth and waited for me to ride out my fabulous orgasm. He looked
up and showed me his adorable dimples and laid over me. He kissed
me sweetly which was a little weird, but I didn't really care what
he did as long as he promised to do that again soon.
