CHAPTER 53

A whole twenty four hours had passed before Queen was once again forced to deal with her Baby Daddy drama.  Christian had a lot of questions and unfortunately Queen didn't have any answers. For all practical purposes she remained in bed all day Sunday and he catered to her every whim.

So, do you feel better Mye Queen?” He asked as she finished her dinner in bed.

Yes, a lot better. Thank you.”

Better enough to talk to me about what's going on with you?”

Sensing that it was time to face the music Queen set up on the side of the bed. She stared in Christian's eyes and kissed his handsome face. He kissed her soft lips and then sought her tongue with his hungry mouth.

I love you. I just hope that you know that.” She whispered. “And absolutely nothing will ever change that.”

I love you too. But we need to talk.”

Yeah I know.”

So, I take it that you know for a fact that you are pregnant. Right?”

Yeah. I took a home pregnancy test at Jade's and it was positive.”

Why were you and Jade at County when she went into labor?”

I went to County to see Dr. Melissa Goodwin a classmate of mine whose an Ob/Gyn to confirm the results with a blood test.”

So, why didn't you just let me draw some blood at my office? Why did you go all the way down there?”

Honestly, I didn't want anyone at Mercy in my business.”

Okay, but why did you exclude me? I thought we were going to do this together.”

Christian I was scared to death. I'm still scared to death for that matter. I just needed to know for sure before we talked. Then Jade went into labor and I was basically done after that.”

Christian hugged Queen and kissed her gently on her forehead. “Baby why are you so afraid to face this? Don't you want this baby? Talk to me and tell me what's up.”

Queen hesitated for what seemed like an eternity.

Queen, please tell me that you want this.  All my life this is all I ever wanted. Please tell me that you want it too.”

Queen's eyes instantly begin to swell with tears. She knew that this was going to be hard, but she had no idea that it would hurt this much. Her heart felt like it was about to bust.   In retrospect she wished she had just told him about Logic when he got back from LA. It would have been a lot easier to tell him that then to have to tell him this now.

As she wiped the lone tear that trickled down her cheek she noticed that Christian was wiping tears of his own. Not once had she ever seen this man cry. Christian was a big, proud, strong black man. It cut her like a samurai to see him crying like a baby. It hurt even more to know that she was causing him so pain.

Queen, I promise that you won't have to do anything except have the baby. I'll do everything else. In time you'll see that this was the right thing to do. Just carry my child for me and I'll take care of them and you from here on. Okay? Please Queen?” He begged as he choked back tears.

Queen couldn't take his pain another second. Unfortunately the only way to end it was to inflict even more pain and carnage. Sure, she could carry the truth about her indiscretion to the grave. But she knew that it would eventually eat at her like a  flesh eating virus until it completely consumed her. Christian didn't deserve this level of betrayal from anyone especially not her. Hell, he had been more faithful to her than any man she had ever known.

That meant a lot to her. It destroyed her to know that she had been incapable of being faithful to him. Baby or no baby she had to fess up. She wanted their marriage to be based on honesty, love and trust. And to keep this secret one second longer would ruin any chance of this ever happening. Queen realized that she was merely prolonging the inevitable which would only compound the matter. Christian had to be told the truth if they had even a slither of a chance of at least remaining friends.

Still, Queen didn't quite know how to tell him. So, she did the only thing left to do. She counted to three and then blurted out. “I slept with someone while you were in LA. I went to County to get a sonogram because I wasn't sure if the baby was yours. I'm sorry.”

What did you say?” Christian asked shocked.

The baby's yours of course. The sonogram proved that. I just couldn't keep the truth from you anymore. It was killing me what I did to us.”

What? Please tell me that you're kidding me! Because I know fuckin well that you can't  possibly be serious. You slept with somebody since we've been engaged?”

Christian I'm sorry... I didn't mean to...”

To what Queen? FUCK him or to FUCKIN get caught!” Christian screamed as he threw the bed tray with Queen's leftover dinner on it against the bedroom wall. “I can't fuckin believe you. You got so much shit with you Queen!”

Christian!” Queen screamed as she retreated to the other side of the bed for safety.

Christian my ass! What the fuck is wrong with you? I do every fucking thing for you except wipe your ass and you're going to pull this bullshit on me? What the fuck did I do to deserve this shit? Huh Queen? I'm not enough for you?” Christian ranted. “I was gone just a few fuckin weeks and you couldn't keep your fucking legs closed?”

Christian I ...”

Shut the fuck up! Queen I swear to God! Don't say a fuckin thing else to me. Ever!”

Chris calm down. You asked me a question and I was...”

Didn't I just say shut the fuck up!” Christian screamed as he smashed the lamp on the floor, glaring at her, daring Queen to speak again.

Who the fuck is he? Who the fuck did you fuck? Was it Dr. Chambers? He's always up in your fuckin face grinning. Looking at you like you're a pussy pop. Was it him?”

Queen didn't answer.

Answer me damn it! Was it him?”

You told me not to speak.”

Queen don't fuckin play with me right now. I'm a rat's ass hair away from fuckin you up right now. Did you sleep with that mother fucka?”

No of course not.”

Then who was it?”

Queen hesitated. She knew that all hell was about to break loose the moment Christian discovered that it was Logic.

You have ten fuckin seconds to open your mouth and tell me who the fuck it is. You know what never mind. I just figured out who it is. I fuckin can't believe that you fucked up my life to fuck a mother fuckin male stripper! It was Chocolate Thunder Down Under wasn't it? Wasn't it? You think I don't see his name pop up in your phone history. You fucked that nasty nigga didn't you?”

It wasn't Derrick. Derrick and I are just friends. I told you that. And what were you doing going through my phone?”

What was I doing in your phone? Seriously, you want to go there? You're my fuckin fiancé, Queen! I can look in your phone all I want. And who the fuck is Derrick?”

Derrick is Chocolate Thunder Down Under and no I never had sex with him.”

Then who the fuck is it? Some random mother fucka you met on the street? Who the fuck was it Queen? Tell me right now! Cause my chest is about to explode, standing here playing the who's fucking my fiancé game with you.”

Queen hesitated and then confessed. “It's Logic.”

Christian looked off in space puzzled, racking his brain in an effort to figure out how or why he knew that name. “Who? Who the fuck is Logic?”

Logic Hart.”

Christian searched his memory banks again when it suddenly hit him. “Logic Hart! Logic Hart of the Nevada Kings, that fuckin Logic Hart?”

Queen merely nodded terrified to acknowledge it out loud.

You fuckin fucked Logic Hart, Teddy's friend?”

Queen reserved comment. She blankly stared at Christian wishing that she had done  what Jade warned her to do.

Answer me damn it!”

Yes.” Queen quietly admitted.

When the fuck did you start fucking him?”

When I was fifteen.” She quietly responded.

What did you say?”

I said when I was fifteen. Logic was my first.”

So, how long has this bullshit been going on?”

Since it started, we never stopped. Well at least not until we got engaged. But then...”

Hold the fuck up! So you were fucking this nigga the entire time you were with Teddy?”

Queen didn't answer.

Okay you know what... Don't even fuckin bother to answer that. Now all of this shit makes perfect sense. Just get the fuck out of my house before I kill your trick ass.”

Christian...”

What? What could you possibly say to me right now? Huh Queen? What?”

Nothing except I love you Christian and I'm sorry.”

Oh I know that you're sorry. You're also trifling and selfish. And you don't give a fuck about anybody, but your fuckin self. Especially not me.”

Chris I love you. You're my best friend. You mean everything to me. I didn't mean to hurt you. I fucked up. Please forgive me.”

So, I'm your best friend? Yet you never once told me about Logic, not once. No wonder Teddy was so fucked in the head. Fucking with you and your fuckin bullshit.”

Christian... that's not fair. I never meant to fuckin hurt you, or anyone else for that matter. I didn't think. Let's just start over.”

Christian didn't respond.

Christian I can't say more than I'm sorry. I told you that I had baggage that needed to be unpacked.”

Oh yeah, well now you have bags to pack. Don't you?”

Okay. That hurt, but I guess I deserved it.  I'll get my things and go.” Queen managed as she choked back tears.

Christian softened. He hated to see Queen cry. He watched with mixed feelings as she dressed and gathered some of her things. “Do you love him?”

Queen wiped tears from her eyes and admitted. “I've loved him almost all my life, but I'm in love with you. I know that now.”

But you didn't know that when you were fucking a round with him? If you were so much in love with me then why did you fuck him? Huh Queen?”

His dad died. I told you that he was my uncle because I didn't know what else to say. I was close to Mr. Hart and I took it hard. Logic and I were both so distraught that... Look, I don't have an excuse. Other than that I'm fucked up. Sex is just a means for me to escape pain. The last thing on earth I wanted to do was to hurt you.”

You know what your real problem is? You're afraid to be happy. Every time you think that you have a slim chance of being happy, you do something to fuck it up. You say that you've been with Logic since you were fifteen, so you probably fucked it up by fucking around with Paul and Teddy. Now I know for a fact that Teddy's asked you to marry him a half dozen times, but you were too busy fucking Logic. In fact, you knew that Teddy was going to ask you to marry him again, but you fucked it up by fucking around with me. You use sex as a way to escape happiness, not pain. That's why you fucked this up with me.”

Chris please, I'm sorry.”

Yeah I know we've already established that.” He sarcastically responded as he slipped on a shirt and some shoes. “I need a drink. So I'm going to leave while you get your shit together. We'll talk about the baby later. I can't do it right now. Let yourself out and leave my keys on the table.”

Now
Queen noticed that Christian didn't take his car keys so she knew exactly where he was heading. There was a bar less than a block from their condo where they would often go to shoot pool and have a beer or two. Christian would be there and Queen decided that she had one last shot to capture his heart.

Queen
quickly fixed her hair, put on some makeup and slid on her way too tight form fitting jeans and went to the bar to get her man. She entered the bar and immediately begin to scan the room for Christian. Instantly starting a shark feeding frenzy Queen made her way through the sea of horny ass men to Christian.

Christian
who was smoking cigarettes and lining up shots, spotted her coming and simply ignored her and the monkeys who were trying to get her attention. Naturally he was not alone. There was a women on either side of him just hoping that he'd get drunk enough to follow them home. Queen instantly recognized it for what it was and decided that somebody probably was going to get their ass kicked tonight. Not really wanting to intentionally start no shit she excused herself.
