groaned as she put her arms back above her head. He slid a second

fell asleep in his arms.

Luke
didn't want to move from Jessica's bed. He felt so happy and relaxed
when she was in his arms. Jessica was so sexy. He was the only man
for her. In all those years, she had not been in another man's bed.
Luke felt bad for all of the women he had been with, even if they
weren't relationships. That didn't matter. Luke wanted to make up for

Jessica, but knew he had to wait.

He
spent the rest of the week taking care of his son and keeping up on
the house work. Luke wanted Jessica to be able to spend her evenings
cuddling with Lucas. He needed his mom. His arm was sore and he was
still on pain medicine. During the day Lucas would sit in the chair
with Luke and watch television or they would read together. Lucas
asked him questions about the time he was away from them. Luke made
dinner each night, so they could eat when Jessica got home from work.
Jessica and Luke spent time together after Lucas went to bed. They
talked, laughed, watch television, and ended up in her bed together
each night. Luke would always leave before he fell asleep. It was
getting harder to leave each night.

That
Thursday, he took Jessica's car to go and get dinner when she got
home. He told her that he needed to go to the store for something and
was going to check on his mom. Luke was gone for a couple of hours.
He hoped that Jessica didn't ask him about where he had been. There
were just some things he needed to do. He brought back food from a
restaurant he used to go to with Jessica when they were younger. When
he got home, she laughed and kissed him. It was starting to feel like
they had always been together. Luke felt like he had a family. There
was no other place he would rather be.

Friday,
Luke text Renee and told her Lucas wanted her to come over for
dinner. She said she couldn't let her favorite nephew down. Someone
stopped by during the day and Luke went outside to talk. He didn't
want Lucas to know what he was doing. When he came back inside, Lucas
questioned him like a little man about who it had been. Luke held his
little boy tight and told him how much he loved him.

Renee
showed up while Luke was making dinner. She sat with Lucas and spent
time with him. Luke peeked around the corner to see Lucas and Renee
snuggled up on the couch.

“
When
do you want to go and clean your car out? We can do it Monday if you
want. Lucas will be back in school,” Luke said.

In
high school, Luke and Jessica had been inseparable. He had seen Renee
all the time. She would always hang around and try to spend time with
them. When he came back and found out everything she had done for his
love and his son, he felt so much appreciation for her. She was
becoming his little sister as well. He wanted to do anything he could
to make her life a little easier and less stressed. She had given up
her college years to take care of her family. He really worried about
her.

“
I
already cleaned it out,” she answered.

“
I
told you I wanted to go with you. I didn't want you to do it alone.
Are you okay?” he asked.

“
Officer
Jenkins went with me. I met him at the station, and he took me over
and helped me get all of my stuff out of it. He even talked to the
insurance company with me, so that they knew the car was totaled and
it was not my fault,” she said.

Luke
had his head around the corner, still looking at her.

“
What?”
she asked.

“
The
police officer that was at the hospital did all of that with you?”
he asked.

“
Yes,
he was being helpful. He knew I was upset about everything,”
she said.

“
Really?”
Luke asked.

“
Yes,
really,” she replied, with a small smile.

“
I
was going to take you,” he said.

“
I
know, but I knew you needed to be here with Lucas. When he offered, I
figured I could get it done.”

Luke
looked at her with a stern and serious look.

“
What?
Don't give me that serious dad look. It's no big deal,” she
said.

Luke
huffed out a breath and went back to making dinner.

Jessica
walked in from work and gave Renee and Lucas a hug. She went to her
bedroom to change and then went to the kitchen. Luke told her he
invited Renee for dinner so that Lucas could see her. He asked her to
watch dinner while he ran outside for a few minutes. She gave him a
strange look, and he kissed her on the tip of her nose. He went out
the back door and came back a few minutes later.

“
What
are you up to?” she asked.

“
Nothing,”
he answered. “It's a surprise for your sister.”

She
looked at him, laughed, and shook her head. They sat down and ate
dinner together. Luke felt so much love for all three of them. He was
never going to let them go. He leaned over to Lucas and told him to
go with him for a second. They came back a minute later. Lucas went
and sat on Renee's lap.

“
Me,
daddy, and mommy got you a present. We love you very much,”
Lucas said, as he handed Renee a set of keys.

Renee
looked at Lucas and then at Luke.

“
What
are these keys for?” she asked.

“
Your
present,” Luke said.

“
These
are car keys. There are two cars out there. Are you giving me your
car?” she asked, confused.

A
tear ran down her cheek.

“
No,
I am not giving you my car,” he said, with a grin.

She
laughed and let out a sigh.

“
Are
you giving me Jessica's car?” she asked.

“
No,”
he answered.

“
Your
present is in the driveway,” Lucas said. “Go and see what
it is.”

Renee
took Lucas by the hand as more tears slid down her cheeks. Jessica
and Luke followed them. They opened the front door and walked out
onto the porch. Renee and Jessica's mouths dropped open as Renee took
off down the steps and ran to the car. It was a brand new, loaded,
red Camaro. Renee let out a loud shriek as she jumped up and down.

“
Go
look inside,” Luke said.

Jessica
gave Luke a stern look. He laughed and pulled her to him. Renee
opened the doors and told Lucas to get in and check it out. They
spent a long time looking at everything inside.

“
It's
loaded,” Renee yelled out.

Jessica
raised her eyebrows at Luke.

“
If
you are going to have your dream car, it should be loaded,” he
whispered into Jessica's ear.
