And then David had completed their family. The man so incredibly selfless, so amazingly protective, that Kallum couldn’t imagine how such a person could be born out of the ashes of a planet full of people who had long ago lost their way.

The people of Descon would never forget the lessons they’d learned from their human counterparts. They would remember and mourn such horrendous loss, but Kallum couldn’t help but think that the best of humanity had landed in his and Drew’s lives.

Alex just made the whole relationship more perfect, the tiny life entrusted to their care as four adults who loved him did their best to give him everything he needed to grow up happy and healthy.

Kallum groaned as his husbands moved, the sticky residue of their lovemaking reminding him of the ceremony they had planned. Ally would be waiting, ready to love them and give her all to a relationship she truly wanted.

Perhaps nine months from today Alex would have a little brother.

Kallum grinned broadly at the woman he loved as she stood in the doorway and watched her husbands together. Thankfully she had two of David’s friends from the Royal Guard hovering protectively behind her.

Kallum smiled as he imagined how beautiful any child would be when born into such perfect love. No matter what happened in the future he knew that today was the beginning of the rest of their lives, the start of an incredible journey, their happily ever after within their grasp.

“Come on, Ally,” he said, alerting David and Drew to their wife’s presence. “Let’s get this marriage officially started.”
