Catherine

Somehow, I knew I was permanently his. What we shared had been almost like my dreams, but a million times better. I knew that although he looked mostly human, he was different. His eyes glowed for a reason; it wasn’t the moonlight that I thought played tricks on me all those other nights. The same thing could be said for Chloe and Gage, even Rocky. They all had piercing eyes, even though the color wasn’t the same. Then it hit me, he said pups. He was a wolf or something like it. The town is called Wolfe’s Creek and he named the resort Wolfe’s Den. It all made sense now.

I was finally worn out from our hours of mating as he called it. I groggily fell asleep, but something strange happened. I could have sworn that I heard his voice in my head. Maybe he was really speaking, and I was too sleepy to realize it.

The sun was just starting to rise when he’d worn both of us out and we passed out. It was already ten in the morning when I finally woke up, or should I say I was woken up. My greedy lover whispered to wake so that he could breed me. I never thought that the word breed could be such a panty melting thing. Being naked, he just slid the covers off me, crawled down to his knees, and started to catalog my scent. Each sniff as he trailed his nose down my body caused me to heat up. His feral, animalistic nature called to me and I answered with a mewl, opening my thighs further for him. He gripped my thighs and tugged me so that his face was buried into my pussy. Hunter let out a low growl before licking me. I felt my orgasm already at the surface, and the man didn’t abate until he has me screaming, clawing at his back, and calling out for more. We fell back asleep for what felt like about an hour before his phone was going off. He let it go to voicemail, but the caller wasn’t going to give it a rest.

“Hunter,” he answered, while unconsciously wrapping his arm tightly around me, pulling me closer against his body. I felt the tension in his body. I couldn’t hear what was being said because my head was pressed against his chest. His heart’s steady rhythm blocked the call.

“Okay, I’ll be on my way,” he grumbled.

“Is everything okay?” I asked as I looked up at him from my perch on his chest.

“I’ve got some problems to deal with at the hotel today,” he said.

“Oh I’m sorry. Does that mean I don’t get to take a tour of the resort?”

“I’m going to show you around, love. I just need to handle some matters.”

“So are you going to tell me what is going on with you and me?”

“What’s going on with us? We’re together that’s it. I’m yours and you’re mine and by the end of the day all those around will know it.”

“You know that’s not what I was asking. Why do you all have vibrant eyes? Why did we dream of each other?”

I could see the anxiety and I could feel his tension like it was my own. “I might as well just tell you. I’m a shifter.”

“Like in those romance books?” I asked. I was a huge fan of paranormal romance.

He gave a deep chuckle before he said, “I don’t know. I don’t read those kinds of things, but I shift into a wolf as well as everyone that lives in this area.”

“Explains why it’s called Wolfe Creek,” I said teasingly.

Giving me a curious look he stated, “You seem fine with it all.”

“You sound upset about it,” I accused him. He carried us off the bed in one swift move and walked us to the shower. The feeling of being in his arms sent pleasure through my body centering on my core.

“As much as I enjoy you petting me, we need to get this talk over with,” he growled.

“Someone’s testy. I thought after last night you’d be in a happy mood. I hear men are only grumpy when they’re not getting any.”

“It’s not that, but I would’ve expected you to be running for the hills from me or thinking I’m nutty. Instead you’re clawing at my chest and tempting me to fuck you so damn hard right now.”

“I can’t help it. I’ve been dreaming of you for six months. You’ve become all I think about, and in some odd twist of events those dreams were just fate stepping in. All this time I was starting to think I was losing my mind, so it’s nice to know I’m not crazy. So what does that mean for us? What happens next?” I continued to caress his furry chest. He had the body that was all muscle and sinew, and I wanted to just touch it. For some reason the more I touched him, the more excited I got. It didn’t help that he was touching me, too. I could feel his big dick poking and smacking my ass as he carried me.

“The truth?” he asked. I gave a simple nod. “I don’t know what is to come for us. Our relationship is rare. There have only been a handful of human mates in our history throughout the packs. All I know is that you and I are fated to be together for life.”

“For life?” I was shocked by his words. Being his forever made my heart jump circles.

Suddenly I felt pain in my chest, but it wasn’t from me. I looked up at him and he asked with a bit of worry marring his brow, “Does that sound unappealing?”

“Not at all. It’s simply strange. I feel like I know you and yet we only met last night as we made love.”

“It’s because you were meant for me,” he growled before taking my mouth with his.

Once he pulled his mouth away from me, he set me down on my feet to start the shower. I felt the loss of his touch immediately. Something strange was happening to my body, so I asked him what he knew about it.

“I don’t know if what I’m feeling is real or just in my imagination…”

He stopped me right there. “Don’t say you don’t feel anything for me, please don’t. I won’t be able to handle it.”

“That’s not what I was going to say at all. Hunter, I feel like I can sense your emotions as though they’re my own. Your worry and pain, I just felt it.”

“Really? I don’t know if I can sense your emotions. All I feel is a bit of worry and a shit ton of fucking happiness. Try to get mad at me.”

“You’re a man, that should be easy,” I teased. I narrowed my eyes at him and thought of him with another woman. My heart started to break.
Please don’t break my heart,
I thought to myself, and suddenly I was pinned to the bathroom counter.

With a growl he uttered, “I will never betray you, Catherine. Wolves are monogamous. Don’t be jealous because you are my world. No one, and I mean no one, can change that. Not even will our pups take my heart from you.”

“You could feel my jealousy and pain?”

“I felt your pain like it was my own, and I swear I heard your thoughts.”

“If you could hear my thoughts what would I be saying right now?”

“I could have sworn I heard you say, ‘Fuck me, Hunter.’”

“Oh my goodness, you can read my thoughts,” I laughed with embarrassment because it was damn close to what I was thinking. “Has this happened to you before?” I asked.

“Nothing that we shared has ever happened to me before.”
How do I admit that I was a virgin?

“A virgin?”

“You can read my thoughts, too?”

“I guess so, but how is that possible?”

“I don’t know. I never heard of mates being able to communicate like that.”

“That’s not what I was talking about. How could you still be a virgin?”

“I could ask you the same! But, as it happens, all mates are pure. We have to wait until we find our mate before we can actually fuck. I could jerk off, but I didn’t have anyone to jerk off to until you entered my dreams six months ago.”

“That’s cool! So how about we shower?” I said suggestively.

“Not right now, I want you right where you are,” he rumbled.

He stepped back and turned me around, pressing my belly against the cool edge. Roughly he parted my thighs with one of his. I watched as he looked at me through the large mirror in front of us. Then I read his thoughts.
Mine. You’re mine, Catherine.

I responded back without speaking
. Always yours, Hunter.

Without taking our eyes off each other, he pushed his way into my wet pussy. His pleasure was mine and it seemed to only make it more intense. I was already shaking as I watched us in the mirror while he rutted into me from behind. It was so sexy, the way he gripped my hips, his teeth biting his lower lip.
So fucking sexy, Cat. Touch your tits,
he commanded.
With an eagerness to please him, I squeezed on to both of them as he supported my body. Mashing them together and teasing my nipples, I parted my lips and gave out a deep sigh, sending him into his orgasm. The feel of his ecstasy brought about my own. His heart was pounding so hard I was worried something was wrong.
I’m fine my love. My heart just beats faster than a human’s.

He didn’t pull out of me when he lifted my face to his for a kiss. Instead, he just lifted me higher up his body and drove up into my pussy, and with a growl whispered, “I’m not done with you yet, my mate.”

“Goodie!” I looked into the mirror and realized how small I was compared to him. My knees rested on the counter as he kissed my neck and pumped into me. I could still see some of his chest and arms and his massive thighs as he worked my body into surrender.

I cried out as he fucked another orgasm out of my body. Then I felt his fangs dig into my flesh, piercing my skin, and the euphoria of his bite. This time it was magnified, like I could feel it as he was. My body shook with such immense pleasure and my legs weak, his grip on my waist and chest was the only thing keeping me up.

“My love, I could feel your ecstasy, and it amplified mine,” Hunter whispered in my ear before taking me into the shower.

Soaping up his hands he started washing my body. I tilted my head onto his chest, absorbing the feel of his touch on me.
I don’t know how we’ll ever be able to keep our hands off each other.

“I know, my love. I can’t wait to be in you again,” he whispered as he started scrubbing my hair. “Damn it,” he growled.

“My phone is ringing again,” he grumbled with a shake of his head.

“You can hear it?” I asked, turning toward him and letting the shower rinse my hair.

“Wolf, baby.” he said with a smirk. That smile was a lady bits’ killer.

“Oh, duh,” I said lightly slapping my forehead. I didn’t like him thinking I was absentminded. I’d spent the last six months feeling like a mindless zombie.

“Hey, babe, this is all new to you. Soon you’ll get used to it,” he replied, answering my unspoken concern. I watched as he grabbed the bar of soap and started scrubbing his chest muscles. The water darkened the hair on his chest, making it look thicker. Hunter Grey was a delicious specimen.

Trying to shake off his involuntary effect on me, I hissed, “Well, let’s hurry then. Unless you plan on leaving me here?”

His expression changed; he looked at me like I was out of my mind, but I felt his worry. “Hell no! You’ll be with me. Think of me as your permanent shadow.”

“But you have to work,” I countered. I didn’t want to get in the way of his job.

“What did I just say?” he bellowed.

Feeling his power without the outward display of dominance, I responded meekly, “You’re my shadow.”

“Yes, I am. I’m also your mate,” he said gently, tipping my chin to look into his eyes. I knew he understood I was taken aback by his inner strength.

“Do all mates stay together all the time?” I asked. Didn’t they want time apart?

“No, but you’re not one of us. I need to make sure you’re safe. As a human you’re not as strong as any of the females or even a weak teen pup,” he choked out, clearly the thought frightened him.

“Oh. Will people hate me?” I asked with worry.

Wow, I felt the violent anger consume him for a moment before he regained his composure. “If anyone says anything about you they’ll be looking for a new pack or buried.”

I pressed my hand on his chest, partly because I wanted to touch him again, but also because he needed to calm down. “Sticks and stones, Hunter. You don’t have to do that if someone insults me.”

He looked down at me with a sweet smile, making me all warm inside. “Yes, I do. Catherine, something I didn’t tell you was that I’m the Alpha. My word is the end all. The only ones that ever get away with giving me shit are Chloe and Gage, and that’s because they’re my siblings.”

I couldn’t believe he was the Alpha, but it explained a lot. They did everything he said, and that one guy called him Al by accident earlier. I wondered if I needed to toe the line, too. “What about me?”

“I want you to do what I sa

always, but I can’t guarantee we won’t argue. All I ask is that you don’t do so in front of others. We need to maintain a united front as the Alpha couple.”

“You’re the Alpha. I must be a lucky girl,” I admitted. I was feeling a little intimidated.

He turned off the shower and reached for a towel, wrapped it around me, and said in all sincerity, “No, love. I’m the lucky one. I’m thirty-two and have been waiting for my mate the past seven years.”

“We’re both lucky then,” I admitted. The moment he walked into the room yesterday all the fear and worry about my future seemed to disappear. I knew we belonged together and all would be right.
