April was glad when she spotted Ben up ahead. She was feeling so big and cumbersome. Her belly was bulging and heavy in front of her. She couldn’t wait for labor to begin so she could hold her baby in her arms and get her body back to normal. She waddled quickly until she was at Ben’s side. She saw his eyes widen at her then narrow as he glared.

“Ben, where are Gage and Saxon? Don’t look at me like that. I’m not stupid. Cedric and the others are behind me. I just had this urge to come and look for you. I thought you needed me,” April said then wrapped her arms around the bear’s neck, giving him a hug.

“A–April, is that you? Are you out of your mind, girlfriend? Get away from that bear before he eats you for dinner.”

“Olivia? Oh my God. Olivia. How did you get here? Are you all right? You look like you’ve seen a ghost,” April stated as she hurried as much as she could toward her friend and hugged her. “You have no idea how much I’ve missed you.”

“Are you crazy? There’s a large bear behind you and you look like you’re going for a stroll in the park. Come on, we have to get out of here,” Olivia said as she grabbed April’s wrist, trying to tug her along with her.

“Oh, he won’t hurt you. He’s my mate, and those two up there are my mates, as well,” April stated cheerfully, pointing up into the branches above Olivia’s head.

April watched her friend look up into the tree to see Gage and Saxon lying on a tree limb above her, in their panther form. She saw her friend’s eyes widen as she turned back to her. April heard the warriors walking up behind her and felt Ben nudge her lightly on her thigh with his nose. She watched Olivia back away from her as Ben began to change from his bear form. Olivia’s face paled when Ben’s bones cracked and popped as they contorted until her man was once again standing at her side, totally naked. Then she frowned with concern when she saw Olivia’s eyes roll back in her head as she swayed on her feet. April knew she wouldn’t reach Olivia before her friend hit the ground.

April heard movement behind her and then she saw Cedric rushing toward Olivia. He caught her friend before she hit the ground, scooping her up into his arms. She watched as Cedric leaned down and sniffed at the skin on Olivia’s neck. Cedric looked up at her and Ben and then he glared at the other warriors behind her. His eyes were changing from their usual color to gold and back again, as he turned toward his brother. Hugh rushed over to Olivia and Cedric, and April saw him lean down to sniff at her friend, as well. The two brothers roared loud and long with passion and possessiveness.

April gasped with wonder when she heard two words uttered from Cedric with guttural covetousness. “Mine. Mate.”

April was too astounded to react at first. It took a moment or two for Cedric’s words to sink in. When they did, she threw her head back and laughed.

What more could a woman ask for? She had three wonderful mates whom she loved more than anything, and they returned that love. She was about to have a baby, and now her best friend was by her side, once more. Life just didn’t get any better than that!
