He was rubbing up and down her thighs while she answered. “He said he was going to give it to me good and hard when he sees me.”

Cole looked up at her and arched his brow. “Is that right?” Finally, his mood went from brooding to completely turned on. Right now, Maddie was safe in bed with him. The brooding could wait till the morning.

“I am not wearing anything underneath my robe, Cole.”

Cole loved how breathy Maddie’s voice suddenly became. He slid his hands further up her thighs as she sat up on her knees. Her hands traveled to her sash and with aching slowness meant to tease, she untied her robe and slid it off her shoulders, baring herself completely to him.

Cole pulled her closer to straddle him so that they were seated chest to chest, their mouths only a breath apart. He watched her eyes widen in surprise as he tied her hands behind her back with the sash from her robe. He felt immense relief coupled with intense desire when a sexy little smirk danced across her lips. Her complete and utter trust in him swelled his heart with pride, not to mention the excitement he felt at her naughty side coming out to play.

Slowly, he thrust up into her while holding on to her hips. He moved her up and down on his shaft taking complete control of her body. They kissed and moaned into each other’s mouths. Their lovemaking was slow and sweet, but the orgasm that ripped through both of their bodies was earth shattering. Their eyes locked as they rode out the final intense waves.

“Please, I need to touch you,” Maddie whispered.

As soon as Cole untied her hands, her arms went around him for a passionate embrace. It felt soul deep. They sat like that, fused together, for a long while before they finally fell asleep in each other’s arms.

Chapter 15

Thankfully, the rest of the week passed without incident. There were no Declan sightings, no thieving assholes, and with the cameras installed in the studio, the girls and their respective men could breathe a little easier. The best part was that it was Friday and Charlie was due to arrive at any moment. Maddie had wanted to pick Charlie up from the airport, but the busy afternoon at work prevented it. There was no way that Cole would leave her side to go get him and no way would Charlie allow her to be left without one of them regardless.

Maddie ached for Charlie. Though she loved every single moment she spent alone with Cole, she felt a void in her chest, and like a chasm it would consume her until she could feel Charlie’s arms around her. And while missing Charlie, she was also prematurely mourning Cole’s impending absence and knew that without a doubt she would feel the same longing for Cole while he was away.

She tried hard to focus on the positives. Getting to spend quality time alone with each of her men would only bring her closer to them and allow them to each form their own special bond with her. Maddie smiled and felt a tightening in her belly when she thought about the way Cole had made love to her this week. He took her over completely with his dominant lovemaking style, and yet there was such tenderness to it. He brought out a side of her she never even knew existed. She submitted to him completely and melted from his approval, but when she wanted to take the lead, he had no problem relinquishing control.

Her heart warmed at the thought that Charlie and Cole had a special bond of their own. The two of them were closer than brothers. Cole missed Charlie just as much as Maddie did, but he expressed how spending one-on-one time would only make their relationship stronger. Knowing what each person needed from the relationship, both sexually and emotionally, would be invaluable. Charlie and Cole would need their male bonding time, too, which suited Maddie just fine since she needed her girl time with Angela.

In the evenings, Maddie and Cole simply enjoyed each other’s company, cooking together, watching movies, reminiscing, or kissing and cuddling on the couch before going to bed and making mad passionate love. And as if by silent agreement, they avoided talking about their fears. Something bad was going to happen soon and they both knew it, felt it.

Charlie breathed a sigh of relief when he walked into Maddie’s studio on Friday. San Francisco had no longer felt like his home. As soon as he set foot in his apartment on Monday, the place felt as if it belonged to a stranger and his once familiar surroundings had become alien to him.

He had kept himself busy though by packing and tying up loose ends at work, anything to keep the loneliness at bay. He even managed a few nights out with some colleagues from work and a few friends he was somewhat close to.

No friend had ever measured up to the friendship he had with Maddie and Cole even when he had questioned their existence. Though he sometimes dated, more out of a need to scratch an itch, he had never been serious with anyone. No woman could ever compare to Maddie. No woman had ever incited such passionate and possessive feelings like Maddie did. Even when they were just kids he felt like Maddie was his…his and Cole’s.

While out drinking with friends, he completely ignored the advances of the throngs of women who hit on him and cared even less about their attempting-to-be-sexy pouts when he politely rejected them. His face lit up though when Maddie sent him a text telling him to try to have a good time along with a few naughty choice words.

“You have got it bad, my friend,” one of his friends had remarked when he saw Charlie’s goofy grin.

He made sure to speak to both Maddie and Cole several times a day, not just because he missed them, but to reassure himself that Maddie and Cole were real and it hadn’t all been just a dream. Waking up alone and disoriented had him reaching for his phone to call Maddie and Cole before he even got out of bed. And after what happened at Maddie’s studio with Declan and the shoplifter, he needed the reassurance that she was okay.

Lunch with his mother on Thursday afternoon was awkward to say the least. She was definitely shocked by his news, but as usual her biggest concern was how his new relationship status would affect her. Most of the meal was spent in an uncomfortable silence. Charlie could practically see the wheels spinning in her head as she pondered all the ways to circumvent the topic with her social circle. At one point when her face lit up, Charlie knew that she was thinking about all the negative ways his status might affect his father, being the prominent businessman he was. It figured that the only way she would be happy for him was if it led to his father’s discomfort.

He had actually sent his father an e-mail letting him know that he would be moving to the other side of the country and was grateful to learn that his dad would be away on business all week. In the email, Charlie had mentioned having a girlfriend. No doubt his mother would mention the rest. His father mentioned having several girlfriends who he kept hidden from his third wife, and the e-mail ended with an “I’ll catch you next time you’re in town, son.”

He kissed his mother good-bye, promised to keep in touch, and hightailed it out of there. He knew his mother loved him, but she was a selfish being and there was no one in the world she loved more than herself. His father was a cheating, self-absorbed, rat bastard, who probably rarely even gave Charlie a second thought. Charlie knew all of this already. He had figured all of this out a very long time ago when he finally stopped trying to please either one of his parents, when he finally stopped trying to garner their affections, and when he finally realized that he could be his own person and not have to emulate either one of them. What he found amazing though was that he no longer cared. He felt liberated as he boarded the plane on Friday heading toward his new life with the two people he loved most in the world, both of whom happened to love him back just as fiercely. He was moving to his new home with the woman he loved, adored, and cherished and with his best friend and brother by his side. His soul mates. That was his reality now, not the lonely empty shell of a life he used to lead.

Maddie launched herself into his arms when he walked through the glass doors. She was such a tiny thing, but her grip as she held him tightly was very strong. She nearly knocked the breath right out of him, though he couldn’t find it in himself to care. At the moment, he needed to feel her in his arms more than he needed to breathe.

“I take it you missed me, baby.”

“Oh, Charlie,” she breathed, “you have no idea.”

“Believe me, love, I absolutely do.” He bent down to whisper in her ear. “I am gonna show you just how much later.”

“I’ll hold you to that. I might just have to show you, too.”

Just then, Cole walked toward the embracing couple and clapped Charlie on the back. “Good to have you home, bro.”

“It’s good to be home,” Charlie said while still holding on to Maddie. “Looks like I missed a bit of excitement this week.” He and Cole exchanged a look, one that said that they were going to be sticking even closer to Maddie.

As much as Charlie wanted to do the whole shut-in thing this weekend to make up for the time he was away, he was looking forward to dinner with Kellan and Angela on Saturday night. It would give him as well as Cole a chance to learn more about Declan’s background from Kellan. Mainly, if Kellan thought it might be possible that things with Declan could turn violent. They would of course need to keep to themselves that the biggest reason for their concern was what their combined extrasensory perception abilities were telling them. The fact that Declan showed up at Maddie’s place of work, though, would be enough to send up a red flag. Otherwise, his behavior at the housewarming would have only labeled him a “dick” and not a potential murderer.

Charlie was tired from his trip, but he refused to take Maddie’s car and wait for her and Cole at home. He took a short nap on the couch in Maddie’s office and was grateful when they finally closed up shop. When they arrived at the condo, he no longer felt like he was visiting. This was his home now too…well at least until they found a bigger place. He was also starting his new job in two weeks and was looking forward to his new slightly altered management position. His position was with the bank chain that was most likely going to take over the bank he worked for in San Francisco. At least now he wouldn’t have to deal with the stress of a possible merger.

The three of them showered together quickly and fell right into bed after. They did not resurface for several hours, and when they finally did, it was a short reprieve to satisfy another hunger. The brief respite led to them having more energy and therefore more crazy, hot and sweaty sex. Charlie was definitely glad to be home.

Everything was finally falling into to place for them. If only they didn’t have this threat looming over their heads. Charlie’s affairs were now in order, and Cole was pleased to learn that he had two serious potential buyers for his house and that he may actually get close to his asking price, an amazing feat in this economy. His mom, aunt, and cousins had already packed up the majority of his house for him, something he would be eternally grateful to them for. He was definitely treating them all to dinner.

Unlike Charlie, he and Maddie were very close to their families. He was going to miss being around them, especially their frequently orchestrated Sunday dinners. But very much like Charlie and Maddie, he had spent the majority of his childhood and entire adult life feeling a lonely ache inside. Pieces of himself were always missing until now, and there was no place else he could be but with Maddie and Charlie. He had no doubt the bond with his family would remain just as strong from a distance, and no doubt that Skyping would become a major part of his life.

At dinner that night, Kellan assured them that he would be keeping an eye on Declan, and he also informed them about the reason for Declan’s transfer: a dropped sexual harassment charge. When Cole asked him if he thought there was a possibility of him becoming violent toward Maddie or if he thought that the stalking would continue, Kellan said he didn’t think so. He explained about the ripping he gave Declan and how he knew that the prick was taking his warning seriously. He also didn’t peg Declan as the obsessive type. He was more the go-for-the-easy-sure-thing-with-the-least-possible-consequences type.

Still, that did not explain the prickling sensation both Cole and Maddie felt in his presence, but he couldn’t mention that part to Kellan without sounding like a crazy person.

By Sunday, the three of them were completely on edge. With the way they were all skirting around their feelings, Cole was now sure that all three of them were feeling the same sense of dread, confirming that all three of them had the extrasensory gift. Cole had made up and changed his mind about leaving at least a dozen times, until Maddie figured out what he was doing and put her foot down.

“I promise that I will not leave Charlie’s side,” Maddie stated adamantly. “If you postpone your trip tomorrow, you will have to reschedule and then I will be obsessing over you leaving that much longer. Just do what you need to do and get back here to me and Charlie.”

“Maddie…I…”

“It’s gonna be okay, Cole. We’ll figure this out before he hurts any of us.”

God, he loved her. Here she was trying to comfort him when it was she who was in danger.

Reluctantly, on Monday morning he boarded the plane headed for Washington. Instead of obsessively worrying, he tried to focus on the amazing sendoff Maddie had given him in the morning. She pounced as soon as his eyes opened, taking complete control of his body like she did with Charlie on the day of his departure. Their kisses were forceful, passionate, their lovemaking wild. Charlie tried hard to just be an observer, but they rolled around like mad, crashing into him until he could no longer just watch. He was about to plunge into her ass when Cole decided it was his turn to explore that channel. He quickly pulled out of her, he and Charlie situated Maddie between them, and the three of them rode into ecstasy. Their climax brought on sheer moments of oblivion.

Cole’s cousin Jay was waiting for him when he arrived at Sea-Tac Airport, and since the ride from Seattle to Silverdale was a good hour, Cole found himself on the receiving end of twenty questions. He didn’t mind though. He was proud of his relationship and was relieved at his cousin’s easy acceptance of it.
