“You have it all figured out, don’t you, Mr. Darwin?”

“I do, Ms. Hollister. There’s just one thing left to take care of, and then we can
move on with our lives.”

“What’s that?” I could think of nothing to make my life any more perfect than it was.

Parker took a small step back, pulled something from his pocket, and lowered to one
knee in front of me.

I gasped as he took my left hand in his. “Meagan Hollister, will you marry me?” He
held out a dainty gold band with tiny diamonds around the sides and a larger, but
still modest, diamond in the center. He knew me well.

Tears ran down my face. To say it was unexpected was an understatement. If I argued
with him again about how long we’d known each other, he would be insulted.

So, I did the only natural thing.

I said yes.
