“Only if you want it. No, I don’t have any fantasies left, but I can think of a few if you want to try.”

She purred next to him. “I think we shall see. The wedding night will be here before we know it. Are you always in this type of rush?”

“I’ve never had to wait before.”

“I want to wait for our wedding. I won’t share either, Charles, so you will have to wait as well.”

His eyes glanced over at her and he turned back with a bare grin on his lips. “Already getting jealous, my dove?”

“Yes. I mean it too.”

“I don’t know what to think of you, Dahlia. It will take years to get to know the real you I bet.”

She smiled. “We have a year. I don’t think any further in the future than that.”

He pulled up to her home and she paused for a moment, looking over at him. “Do you want to come up for a drink? I have some old Scotch if you like that sort of thing.”

Charles nodded. He had turned the car off and was ready to go in while she was still getting out. He had hopes that she would be unable to resist him and knowing she was soaked, gave him hope that she would give in. All women did in the end and he knew that Dahlia was going to be his best submission yet.

He followed her up the few stairs and the door was opened before she reached it. She thanked the young girl and sent her off for the night. The blonde barely looked at Charles, scampering off as if he was a beast.

“Shy?”

“Sort of. She doesn’t like men too much. Leslie has seen the bad side of rich men, as you can imagine.”

He nodded, but didn’t say anything. His eyes were hard for a moment and she took his hand, guiding him off into the kitchen. She pulled out the Scotch that was older than he was and his eyes closed with the pure pleasure of the taste. “I could get used to this.”

“It's good. It was my father’s.”

He looked at the glass and shook his head. “It was good, but I wasn’t really talking about that. I was talking more about this, me, you, tonight. I could get used to this.”

She had a biting remark on her lips, but she pushed it back down. Dahlia didn’t want to ruin the moment, even if his sugary words were too sweet to be real. She could have gotten any kind of man to have to marry, but Charles was pleasant and trying hard to be friendly. He had singlehandedly made the arrangement less daunting and she may even start looking forward to their nuptials then the night of. That was what had her mind in that moment. Her body was still hot with need and her panties were no less wet than before. Dahlia was starting to wonder if she could wait that long.

“It was a nice evening, thank you. It could have gone either way, but I'm glad it's going this way.”

“Me too.”

Silence enveloped them and she watched the clock’s second hand race around the old grandfather’s face. “Do you want to watch a movie, I don’t know, what do you like to do?”

His eyes darkened suggestively and she sighed before taking another drink of the hot amber liquid. “Besides that, jeez.”

“I like to travel, get away from it all. I do a lot of hiking to old sites any time I can. Work has been crazy, but it seems like it all may settle down soon. Do you like to travel?”

She nodded. “I don’t know about hiking, but I like to try new things.”

“Even better.” The fire in his eyes burned hot and she avoided them and the subsequent shivers that went through her.

“We aren’t going to be able to talk much if everything you say turns into an innuendo.”

“I'm okay with not talking.”

His hand moved to hers, covering her hand before she could move it away. He held it in between both of his, the fingers swirling on the inside of her palm. She pulled them away after a few moments. His tanned skin was lighter than hers and she liked the way they looked entwined together. She clasped his hand and started to move them, the color of their skin becoming a blur, fusing together to make a softer brown. “This is what color our children will be.”

“I'm ready to get started on that right now.”

Dahlia stood up, her hands tingling from where he had touched her. Rubbing her palms against her skirt in a show of nerves she never usually had, she walked out to the sliding glass doors. Walking out on the porch, she left it open as a silent invite for him to follow her. Charles did, bringing their glasses with him and walked up behind her. Holding her in his arms, wrapped around her, his breathing was hot and heavy in her ear. “I’m sorry, but it's hard to think of anything else when you are next to me or my eyes are on you. I didn’t think I would be so lucky, Dahlia, and I feel pretty damn lucky right now.”

Her eyes closed as she let her head fall back. “Would you feel lucky if I said you still have to wait?”

“Then let me please you. You need some. You forget I have felt how wet you are.”

The offer was exactly what she needed. She needed to feel him against her, touching her like he had before. His hands moved down her arms slowly, his fingers touching her breasts ever so slightly. Her body melted into his and she whimpered into the darkness. “Your hands feel so good.”

Charles moved closer, his lower body pinning her against the rail and then his fingers moved down her thighs, coming back around to grip her shapely ass in his large palms. He growled in her ear and her head fell back with pleasure. It had been too long since she felt so much need; the longer she went without him, the more she needed it. Even with his hands all over her, Charles made sure to only graze where she really wanted to be touched.

Dahlia opened her legs as his knees pushed them open from behind. The muscled thigh brushed and then pressed up against her womanhood, making her cry out. “How about that?”

She shook her head. The slow pressure was agonizing and then overwhelming as he concentrated his moving leg to her wetness. She felt touches on the tips of her nipples and she whimpered. His hands were not rough, but no longer gentle. Her passion was pouring out and driving him wild. Dahlia was laid back against him, her eyes closed and her body open to whatever he wanted. She had long since forgotten why they mustn’t.

Her hips rolled, riding the firm bunched up muscles underneath her. Dahlia was moaning, her breath coming out in short bursts that threatened to pull her overboard. Only a few hours ago she was saying good bye to her boyfriend and now she was wantonly humping a strange man’s leg. It was a change she had not seen coming and when she came so perfectly, Dahlia knew that there was something akin to fate in the world. Her body shook in front of him and he held her, prolonging her pleasure as long as he possibly could.

When Charles moved his fingers from her breasts, lower to her heat, Dahlia stopped him with a hand. She turned around, backing away down the railing. “No more.”

He moved closer, his eyes blackened in the darkness. “Do you really want me to stop?”

Charles had her in reach, but he waited for her answer. Dahlia didn’t know how he had so much control. How did he not feel the way she did?

“Yes, Charles. I want to wait and if you touch me again, that won’t happen.”

He growled in response, his cock straining in his pants. “I think you're right. If I touch you again, there will be no stopping.”

“All night?”

“I promise.”

Chapter 5

“I have decided that we will be married at the end of the month. Will you get all the paperwork together for me?”

“Of course. Is that a smile I see on your face?”

Dahlia tried to hide it, but it kept cropping up as she went through her day. Every time she thought of the man she was to marry, she got lost in all the silly thoughts that she would make fun of her friends about. Was this what love felt like? She felt unbridled passion and the silly notion that everything was going to work out, as long as she had Charles.

She was supposed to wait a few days and get to know him. But the truth was she didn’t need it. She had been prepared to marry a monster and who she was paired with was much better than that. He came from the same background so he understood the obligations of the money. Charles knew how to handle her. Verbally and physically, and Dahlia couldn’t wait to see if he lived up to his boasting. All night long. Why couldn’t she get that off her mind?

Realizing she was still in Alfred’s office, she straightened her face. “Perhaps, Alfred, but let’s not get too cocky. I want to know what's in his past. You have taken care of these things for me before, correct?”

He nodded and started writing a few things down. “Now about James.”

“What about my brother?”

“He has been in here three times this week. He insists that there is some way for him to get his money now. He wants a big lump sum, but I'm not authorized to give it out like that. He was ranting and raving yesterday. I had to ask him to leave.”

“Yes, well, if you feel you need to get security in here because of James, do so and then bill me for it. I would imagine that we will all be dragged to court before it's all said and done. If he got all of the money, it would be gone in a year and then we would have to deal with him begging. Stay the course, Alfred, no money unless it's what the trust calls for.”

“Of course. You have always been hard like your father in that way.”

“We weren’t both born with a silver spoon, Alfred. He sold his years ago for whatever drug he was putting in his veins at the time. Do you know I still have to employ him and he works less than a week a year, literally?”

The older man sighed, his gray brows knitting in consternation. “I know. I just thought I would let you know. Maybe you're the one that needs protection.”

She shook off the comment, “I'll be fine, really. He knows better than anyone to leave me alone. James is just upset and I hope that he can recover from this.”

“He is becoming unhinged, Dahlia. Please be careful.”

She smiled as she stood up. “This is what I'm supposed to do. Father didn’t want all those people to lose their jobs and I don’t either. We all know what James would do with the company. He will not get it and he will not win. He never does and that's why he is so mad.”

Alfred nodded his head and sighed to himself. He never quite understood the hatred between the two siblings, but even though Dahlia was the youngest child, she had always taken on the responsibilities when her mother and then her father died. It was just her nature to handle things, as it was James’ nature to mess everything up. He watched her leave and he hoped that fate had a little happiness in store for her. She was due some, he thought to himself.

He wasn’t sure if he would hire security, but he did know that he would keep his eye out for James. Alfred had a bad feeling and it wasn’t him that he was worried about. While Dahlia may be competent, she still had a tender heart for James. She didn’t like him, but she just wanted him to be okay.

***

Dahlia left the lawyer’s office and took out her phone that had been beeping the whole time. She had several missed calls, but it was the one from Charles that made her stop on the sidewalk. The smile she tried to fight was back and she called him back.

“Hey.”

“Hey, wifey. So I wanted to know if you wanted to come over for dinner tonight. I’m cooking and I thought we could get to know each other a little better.”

“Mmmhmmm. So is that with or without our clothes on?”

“Do I have an option?”

“No. Okay. What time?”

“Eight good?”

“I’ll be there.”

She wanted to say more, but she didn’t. Instead she hung up the phone and moved to her vehicle. She had real work to take care of and Black’s company reports to take a look at. Dahlia still wasn’t too sure about the merger, but she knew that unless there was something seriously wrong with the accounting, it was as good as done. The stocks had already been split and new ones made.

Dahlia tried to focus on the spreadsheets in front of her. She had found only a few issues with their year-end paperwork and it boded well for a good union. Her mind quickly went to another good union that was on her mind. How was she going to get anything done, if she was married to him? It seemed like she could spend her days picking flower petals to find out if he loved her or not. She shook her head and laughed at herself. “Get a grip, Dahlia. It’s just business.”

***

There was no mention of business when she arrived at his home. He, too, lived in the city, but instead of a house, he rented the top floor of a large building on the west side. The area was not known for the wealthy, but it afforded him a little more anonymity. Dahlia doubted that anyone even knew he lived there. It was an industrial part of town and he just got in long before it was zoned that way. What had started as his first flipping property for his sixteenth birthday, Charles had fallen in love with it and after two years of working on it every day after school, he decided to keep it, unwilling to part with it. Now it was just his home on the top floor, the other floors rented out and still making him a tidy sum.
