Chapter 5
Phoenix

My house was finally empty, with a few stragglers. I had put up everything that wasn't toted up out my house from the dinner. These hungry heifers made sure to take plates, but I couldn't blame them, because I did have an amazing spread. With her attitude still evident, Dawn questioned me on where I was getting my money to be able to afford all this food.
“None-yah,” I told her. First it was Serena, and now her.
“Filet mignon. Cheesecake bites. What you do, rob an upscale restaurant?” Dawn asked.
“No, I paid for it with my money,” I stressed, cutting off the chocolate fountain and toting it to my kitchen with Dawn following me.
“You can't have money and no job, Phoenix,” Dawn said.
“Again, you're all up in my business. Go home to your man. Use some of those products you purchased on him,” I urged, hoping she would leave me alone. For a split second, I almost called Paige to come into the kitchen, knowing this would irritate the hell out of Dawn and shut her conversation down. As fate would have it, Paige showed up like a champ without me having to call her.
“Girl, you need some help?” she asked, looking at Dawn and rolling her eyes. Here she was, asking to help me when my very own sister didn't offer to lift a finger. All she was interested in was where my money was coming from. I couldn't lie; I was happy to see Paige, and the look of disgust on Dawn's face was enough to make me smirk a little bit. She was busy worried about my money. She needed to be worried about where her future husband was laying his pipe.
“You can if you want. I'm not going to turn it down,” I said, looking at Dawn, who seemed noticeably pissed.
“I'll help some, but I have to get home and get me a piece. This poon poon ain't had a dick in me in a week,” Paige boasted.
“Who's your conquest tonight?” I asked, not thinking as I poured the chocolate out of the fountain into a large container.
“I can't say,” she said sarcastically.
“You see. That's the shit I'm talking about,” Dawn blurted, pointing her finger at Paige.
“You talking to me?” Paige asked, putting her hand on her chest.
“Yeah, I'm talking to you. You've been saying slick shit all night.”
“Girl, this is a fight you don't want,” Paige warned.
“Oh, really?” Dawn asked.
“Really! Why you mad?” Paige asked.
“I'm mad because you a whore,” Dawn said, walking closer to Paige.
“If you keep stepping to me like you want some, I'm going to give it to you again,” Paige cautioned.
I thought my sister would heed the warning, but I guess the bad blood between them two was worse than I imagined.
“Bitch, I will whoop your. . .” Dawn said, not finishing her sentence as she went over to Paige and swung on her. Paige retaliated by punching her back, and before I could get to them good, they were fighting. I dropped the fountain, spilling some of the chocolate all over my counter. Trying to break them up, I ended up between them. Paige was reaching over me and punching Dawn in the back of the head as she held a handful of her long hair.
“Let her go, Paige,” I yelled.
“Bitch, I told you not to mess with me,” Paige screamed, steady landing punches to my sister's head.
Shauna and Serena ran into the kitchen and grabbed Paige, who wouldn't let go of Dawn's hair. I turned and grabbed Paige's hand to pry her fingers from my sister's hair. One by one I struggled to lift her fingers as she jerked with all her might to rip Dawn's hair from her skull. Once her grip was released, Dawn stood pushing her hair away from her face. I jumped in front of Dawn, pushing her away from Paige, because she looked like she was going to go in for some more.
“Stop it,” Shauna yelled.
“She shouldn't have put her hands on me,” Paige said, panting.
“And you shouldn't have slept with my man,” Dawn shrieked.
“Check your man, not me. If you had any type of common sense you would see that, but nooooo, you want to play dumb wifey, thinking you can punk me. But you wrong, trick. Your ass got played. Jump again and I will whoop that ass again,” Paige threatened.
Dawn breathed heavily as she defiantly scowled at Paige with so much rage. My sister knew Paige was right, but she would never admit it. Corey was the one who needed to be checked for real. Paige wasn't the only woman he had slept with during their relationship together. Her man was a dog, and I knew he would sleep around on her again. Why wouldn't he? Dawn always took him back. You teach a man how to treat you, and Corey knew he could treat Dawn like crap and she would be dumb enough to deal with it.
“I'm leaving,” Dawn said, pulling her mangled hair back in a ponytail. “Come on, Shauna and Serena,” she yelled.
Both my sisters looked at me. Shauna shook her head.
“She's yelling at me like I slept with her man. I don't want him,” Serena quipped.
“I'm getting pissed off now. They done made me lose my buzz,” Shauna said, walking out of the kitchen behind Dawn with Serena following her.
I couldn't help but laugh at them.
“I'm sorry, Phoenix. I didn't mean to be fighting up in your house like this, but you know me. I don't care where I am; if someone wants to check me, then we going to handle the damn thing wherever,” Paige said, fixing her clothes, which were hardly messed up since she was in control of the fight.
“I understand. And I'm sorry for my sister's behavior.”
“You can't help who your blood is. I'm glad you are not like her. Talk about total opposites,” Paige said. She ain't never lied.
Dawn was somewhat quiet, so to see her get bold and jump knowing she couldn't fight, from what I could see, was another side of her I hadn't seen before. It was almost like she was homie.
She isn't into clothes like me or trying to look her best at all times. For goodness' sake, she came over here in a jogging suit tonight. Don't get me wrong; a jogging suit is great for leisure around the house or running to the store or gym type thing, but not for gatherings. If she was going to wear a jogging suit, she could have at least put on a cute one. The one she was wearing was too oversized for her body and didn't hug her nice body at all, and it was an ugly pea green color that made me think of throwup for some reason.
As gloomy as she looked, I was waiting for her to pull that hood over her head and call it a night. She should fix herself up sometimes. She used to dress. I didn't know what had happened. Well, I did know. Corey happened. Ever since she'd been with him, Dawn had lost her own identity. She had been too busy playing private eye investigating what the hell Corey was doing. I used to feel sorry for her, but now I didn't. You make your bed, you lie in it, and she was lying beside a cheating dog. She was way too pretty for him. She could get any man she wanted, yet she chose this punk.
There was no excuse why Dawn should settle for the life she had. Dawn has a shape with just a tad bit more weight than me, but it is in the right places. Her skin tone is like mine, caramel but lighter. She has the best hair out of all of us, taking it from our great-grandmother. It is long and silky.
I love my sister dearly, but we don't get along that well. We tolerate each other because we're siblings. I always wished our relationship would get better, but as long as she was in denial about herself and her relationship, our relationship would remain like it was: tolerable. I knew after this episode with Paige, any type of rapport we had may be severed, just for the simple fact I was friends with the enemy.
Chapter 6
Dawn

Two things went wrong tonight. One was going to the sex party at all, and two was the fact that I trusted my sister, who knew my situation but still was selfish enough to invite the enemy. How shocked was I to see my nemesis, Paige, already there laughing with the woman next to her? My blood instantly began to boil.
How could Phoenix do me like this? She should have known only one of us should be there, and that one should've been me. When I found my seat with a tipsy Shauna behind me, Vivian spoke, giving me the look like, “Are you okay?” I stretched my eyes, letting her know I wasn't. My night went from sugar to shit real quick. I'm not sure everyone in the room knew the beef Paige and I had, but I didn't like being there with the ones who did know. Some women were giving me the eye, looking back and forth between me and Paige. I almost told them, “Either say something or get out my face.”
Then when Paige and I made eye contact, she gave me this smirk like, “Yeah, I slept with your man. What are you going to do about it?” I wanted to run across that room and snatch that blond hair out of her head. I glanced over at Vivian, who sensed my anger. She held her hand out flat and lowered it to let me know to calm down. That was easier said than done.
That lady showing us toys reminded me of the sex Paige had with my man. Oh, and the damn banana down the throat thing was icing on top of an already rotten cake. Paige made sure to demonstrate in great detail how to force a banana down her throat. I wished she would have choked on it.
The entire night my irritation was building, until I lost it on Paige. I would do it again if she thought every time I saw her she could drop little innuendos about my man. I was surprised Phoenix intervened, but the worst part of the whole situation was my sister seemed to be on Paige's side and not mine.
Still steaming at the altercation between me and Paige, I roared into the garage of my two-story colonial, hitting the button to let the garage doors down. I sat in my car for a minute trying to gather myself. The harder I tried to calm down, the angrier I got. Picking up my purse from the passenger seat, I got out and stormed into the house, slamming the door closed.
Corey walked into the kitchen as I was taking off the jacket to my jogging suit. “How was the party?” he asked.
I thought that was stupid, because Corey should have recognized I was distraught. The slamming of the door should have clued him in along with the frown lines in my forehead. I guessed he was too busy trying to be cute dressed in black slacks and a black striped collared shirt.
“The party was terrible,” I belted.
“Why? I thought all sex toy parties were supposed to be exciting,” Corey said.
“It was humiliating, especially since my sister decided to invite Paige.”
The smile on Corey's face dissipated. He asked, “She was there?”
“Hell yeah, and it felt like that bitch was taunting me all evening.”
“What did she say to you?”
“What didn't she say? All night she kept saying things and doing things that were pissing me off, Corey. I knew she was doing this on purpose. Finally I confronted her, and from then we started fighting.”
“Fighting. Dawn, you too old to be doing that.”
“I was tired of her. I lost it.”
Corey walked up to me and hugged me, saying, “Well, try to forget about her. We have plans. Let's go out and have some fun, just me and you.”
“I don't know if I feel like going anywhere,” I said, trying to push myself back out of his arms.
“But you said we were going. Are you telling me you don't want to do this now?” Corey asked.
I wanted to say yes, but I knew the reason why I didn't want to go was because Paige and Phoenix messed up my evening. All I wanted to do was crawl up on my couch and relax. I'd had enough excitement for the night, and I really wasn't in the mood to do anything else. As much as I didn't want to get dressed to go out, I had to. Me and my husband-to-be had been planning this for over two weeks now, and I couldn't allow the madness that happened earlier to interfere with a wonderful evening with Corey.
“Give me a few minutes and I will be ready,” I told Corey, whose smile returned.
He kissed me on the lips and said, “Hurry up,” smacking me on my butt as I walked past him.
After showering, I put on a sexy black strapless dress and my five-inch black heels. When I went to brush my hair, I got upset again when pieces of my hair came out in clumps from Paige jerking on it earlier. I pulled the clumps of hair out of the brush and took in a deep breath, trying to calm myself. I was not going to let that trick mess up my night. I brushed my hair down, letting it sweep my shoulders, and tucked my hair behind my ears. Despite the hair she succeeded in pulling from my scalp, I still had plenty. I was ready to go.
When I walked into the living area, I saw Corey had put on the jacket to the black slacks he was wearing. He was standing at the door looking at his watch. When he saw me, his smile returned to his lips.
“Honey, you look good enough to eat,” he said, walking over to me and embracing me. He nibbled on my neck.
I had to smile at my fiancé. As many issues as we had in the past, I knew I was the woman he wanted to be with. “Maybe you can do that later,” I teased.
“Maybe I will,” he retorted with a smirk.
“So, you ready?” he asked.
“I am if you are.”
I still wasn't in the mood, but I was going to push through my frustration and try to enjoy a memorable evening with my man.
Chapter 7
Phoenix

Finally I was getting me a piece, and it was so damn good. Von pounded into me, giving me exactly what my body craved: an orgasm. I bucked and I yelled. I screeched with satisfaction, enjoying the weight of him on top of me. This man was nothing but the truth. I didn't need him in me to get off, because I would just look at this luscious man and get quivers throughout my body.
All was going great, until Tobias walked in. I saw him enter out of the corner of my eye, but I didn't bother to stop, and neither did Von, who was so wrapped up in my good pussy that he didn't notice Tobias come in the room.
Tobias stood there gawking. Nothing was falling out of his mouth. Not a “stop it” or “what the hell is going on?” He stood there like a knot on a log and watched as I got pounded by a man who wasn't him. My plan went down exactly like I wanted it to, with the exception of him not going off about the situation.
I arched my back and dug my nails deeper into Von's back, yelling louder with pleasure, hoping this surge of my desire would ignite a rage in Tobias. Von buried his face in the crook of my neck as he gripped my butt and lifted it to his manhood to enter me deeper and deeper. There were no sheets covering us, just our arms and legs intertwined for Tobias to see. I moaned and wailed, getting annoyed because Tobias still wasn't saying anything. I threw some words in to make matters worse.
“That it right there, baby. Pound this pussy. That's right. Like that,” I urged as Von obeyed my orders and deepened his penetration, pleasing my center.
Now is when Tobias made himself known by clearing his throat. Von was so deep in me he didn't hear him. Tobias cleared his throat louder, and this time Von heard him. He looked around to see Tobias standing in the room, and then he looked down at me.
“What are you doing here?” I asked Tobias.
“You told me to come by.”
“No, I didn't,” I lied.
“Yes, you did,” he said slowly.
“Well, I don't remember,” I said as Von got off of me and sat on the side of the bed saying nothing. He was good. Even though Tobias interrupted, we both had reached our peak. I reached mine several times. Tobias had just walked into the second go-round.
Boldly, Von stood and pulled his boxers up on his magnificent frame. When he did this, he made sure to turn around so Tobias could get a good look at what he was working with. There was no smirk or frown on Von's face when he did this. He was straight-faced as he took his time getting himself together.
Tobias stood there looking like a damn punk. If he was supposed to be my man, then why wasn't he flipping out right now? There is not a man I know who would be calm about what Tobias just walked in on. I was confused and in utter shock at his reaction, which was none.
Once Von was completely dressed, he leaned down and kissed me on the cheek. “I'll holla at you later,” he said to me as he stood back up and glanced at Tobias. Von casually breezed past Tobias, who still stood watching.
Maybe that was his thing. Maybe he liked voyeurism and this scene turned him on. Well, it wasn't turning me on. If anything, it was weirding me out even more and further let me know this was why I didn't want to be around this man anymore.
“So you're just going to stand there?” I asked sardonically.
“How could you do this to me?”
Now I was getting a reaction, even though it was still a composed one.
“What are you talking about?” I asked, playing stupid, pulling the sheets around me and leaning back on the headboard like I didn't have a care in the world.
“This. You and this man.”
“Tobias, we are not together,” I said loudly, trying to get this through his thick skull.
“Yes, we are,” he argued.
“No, we are not. I broke up with you three months ago, but you keep coming back. You keep showing up thinking I still want you.”
“You do. You want me enough to screw me,” he said.
“And? I like to have sex. That doesn't mean I want to be in a relationship with you. If that was the case, I would be with Von. Did you see what that man was working with?” I asked.
He rubbed his head, saying, “I can't believe this. You have really hurt me.”
Now, mind you, when he was talking, it was not done in an angry tone. He was standing there looking like a wimp. If this were me and I caught the person I wanted to be with fucking somebody else, I would be going the hell off. But not Tobias. He was cool as a cucumber, which made no sense to me. Who would be calm at a moment like this? I swear I didn't understand this man, but I really didn't care to.
“I wish I could say I'm sorry, but I'm not, Tobias. You needed to see this in order to know whatever you thought we had we don't have anymore. No matter how many times I tell you this, you don't believe me. I'm hoping this incident will convince you I've moved on to bigger and better.”
“It has opened my eyes up a bit about you,” Tobias said, looking like he was getting ready to cry.
“Good. Now maybe you can give me back my key and get rid of the copies you have made.”
“Phoenix,” he said, pausing.
This punk was really getting choked up by what I was saying. I rolled my eyes. I mean, what the hell?
Get a damn backbone already and handle your business. Leave me alone,
I thought.
“What, Tobias?” I asked in frustration since it was taking him so long to speak.
“I'm willing to forgive you for this,” he said.
What he said almost made me fall out my damn bed and hit my head on the corner of my nightstand to knock myself out. Was he kidding me? “You are going to forgive me?” I asked in shock.
He walked over to the bed and sat down on the side Von just had me sprawled out on. I knew he had to be sitting on our wet spot. He went to reach for my hand, but I moved it before he could touch me.
“I forgive you. You needed to get this out of your system, and now that you have, we can start fresh in our relationship.”
“What relationship? I don't want you!” I yelled.
This frustrated me, because even after catching me with another man, Tobias still couldn't see how bad I wanted him out of my life. I knew I was good, but damn. This man had lost his ever-loving mind over me.
“Actions speak louder than words, Phoenix, and our actions the other night were pure love and ecstasy.”
“It was only sex,” I shrieked.
“Which I love more than life. Phoenix, I love you so much, and I want to show you how much you mean to me.”
Tobias reached down in his pocket and pulled out a black velvet box. He then got down at the side of my bed on one knee. Opening the box, he asked, “Phoenix, will you marry me?”
Was he kidding? I mean really. He caught me screwing another man, and now he was asking me to be his wife minutes after Von extracted his dick out of me. Was he serious right now?
I looked down at the ring, curious to see how much Tobias claimed to love me, and for a moment the diva in me almost said yes as a two-carat princess-cut diamond was sparkling back at me. He had excellent taste, but he was not my cup of tea.
“Phoenix, did you hear me? Will you be my wife?” Tobias asked again, begging me with his eyes to say yes.
I got out of the bed on the other side, away from him. I couldn't take it anymore. I grabbed my robe and put it on, wrapping it tightly around my naked body. “Look, Tobias, I don't want to marry you. I don't want to be your wife. I don't even want to be your girlfriend or your friend at this point. You need to leave,” I told him. I didn't bother to hear what he had to say because I walked out of my bedroom and headed downstairs with him following me.
“You have to say yes,” he begged.
“No, I don't. I want you to get out of my house and never come back. If you try to use your key, you will find my locks will be changed again,” I said.
I began to remember how he got the key to my new locks. He removed my key when I was asleep and made a copy before I had a chance to realize it was missing. I was getting my locks changed again, even though this would be the third time.
“You can't do this to us.”
“Like hell I can't. Get out, Tobias.”
“But, Phoenix—”
“Now, before I call the cops on you,” I threatened.
“You wouldn't do that to me,” he said ignorantly.
I sighed and walked over to the phone, dialing 911. “Yes, I need the police. I have an intruder in my house who refuses to leave.”
