Contentment and exhilaration.
My feelings for tiny life growing inside me were always at the surface. I was consumed with happiness to be carrying Sebastiano’s child.
To me, in my eyes at least, Sebastiano was a good man,
and if our son turned out to be even half the man his father was, I would be proud.
When I reflect back to the first time I ever saw him, I recalled that sense of danger in the air that surrounded him. It was from that moment, I started to fall in love with him.
I loved the way Sebastiano knew how to command attention, and he always knew exactly what I was thinking before I even did.
We are one.
Sebastiano had become my obsession. He was everything I ever wanted, but the last thing I truly needed in my life. I was wrong. I needed him like I needed my last breath.
He thrilled and captivated me to no end.
Our life was enticing and beguiling, and I loved it. It was dark and disturbing, but I embraced it.
He was The Don and he had secrets; he always would. They were secrets I would never be able to comprehend or fathom. I didn’t want to.
As The Don, he lived in a world of deceit and deception, and I saw that darkness in his eyes. A darkness which could be both terrifying and electrifying at the same time.
I love him.
I loved my life, my mafia life. It was not easy living in a crime family, but it was my life and I loved it. Sebastiano considered himself a monster, but to me, he was a monster who was gift-wrapped into a precious parcel, waiting for me to unveil his true identity. I planned to tear away all his layers until I unmasked him and brought out the sweet man I knew existed and loved.
Nothing would ever stop me from loving him.
Yes, he was a monster.
My monster.
A monster who would give me:

a world full of excitement;
