Chapter 5

Devon had laid in bed trying to sleep but every time he tried to, there was Jasmine with a smile on her face, an innocent smile at that and she didn't know what was going on when he wasn't with her. He thought about what Heather had said to him, knew that she was right, just like he was right earlier when he went to the strip club. What he had done, he couldn't undo and he knew that he could go on with his life and that no one owned him he had to get over feeling guilty.

He got up and went to the bathroom, got some water, and went back to bed. He was watching television and it was the first time in a long time that he had done so because he was so busy with life itself. He focused on the news, hoping he would go to sleep and actually get the sleep that he needed.

Devon knew that he had to learn to live his life again, so that when Jasmine came around he would be ready for her. Until then, he was going to have to forget about thinking about dating and a relationship. He couldn't make her love him, he couldn't even make her like him enough to go out on a date with him. He was told that it wasn't him, that it was her, but he knew from the friends he had that it was just something women did to let men down gently and that was something that had always happened through life. Either the man did it or the woman did it and sometimes things didn't change.

Looking over at the clock, he saw that he had two hours before he had to be up and be ready for work. He didn't know if he was going to pick up Jasmine or not. Neither one of them had talked about it and he figured that she might be up herself.

He reached over to his nightstand and got his phone, flipping it open, he saw that Jasmine was in his speed dial contacts. He smiled and hit the button, he was going to hang up after the third ring, knowing that she hadn't slept either, but he heard someone pick up the phone on the other end of the line.

“Hello?” Jasmine asked softly into the phone.

“I was just wondering if you were up,” Devon told her, he thought that she had been crying but he wasn't sure and he wasn't about to ask her, not knowing if that was too much of a personal question.

“I've been up for a while, can't sleep,” Jasmine told him honestly.

“Same with me. Do you want me to pick you up in the morning, or do you have early classes?” Devon asked her, hoping that he didn't sound like he was begging to pick her up.

“I don't have classes tomorrow but if you want to come over and get me that's fine. We could rehearse our lines together tomorrow all day if you want to. I think that I could use more practice.” Jasmine laughed into the phone and made Devon's heart jump into his throat.

“Great, I will be over in a few hours. Say, six?” he asked her, wondering if that was too early for her. He didn't want to take away the sleep that he was sure she wanted to catch up on.

“Whatever time, just call me when you're on your way. I got a lot of sleep last night. As soon as you dropped me off I took a nap and was able to sleep until midnight, so that's better than what I've been able to have,”  Jasmine explained to him, feeling a grin come to her face, now knowing he would be worried that he would be coming over early and disturbing her.

They talked for a little longer and when Devon got off the phone with her, he had a bigger smile on his face than when he first called. His heart was filled with joy knowing that he was going to be spending time with her and knowing it was just the two of them.

Devon got up and got dressed for the day, since he wasn't going to work himself the next morning, he decided to put on jeans and a tight, white t-shirt, hoping that his masculine body was going to make Jasmine take notice. He wanted her to pay attention to him, wanted her to take notice that he was a man that wanted her time and attention. That maybe she would throw caution to the wind and give him a chance, regardless her situation.

“Time to start a new day, we will forget about yesterday and focus just on today. We are going to succeed in everything that we set out to do.” Devon gave himself a pep talk in the bathroom mirror off his bedroom.

He had his bedroom door open and could hear Heather moving around quietly downstairs. He smelled fresh coffee brewing and thought about going down to get some instead of buying it at the store.

Quickly, he shut his bedroom door and put a smile on his face, he went down the stairs quickly and went to the kitchen where there was a hot cup of coffee waiting for him and the newspaper that was still folded up, not even read yet.

“I always set you a place at the table wondering if you came home in the middle of the night or not,” she laughed at him and saw that he was better than he had been since last night.

“I'm good, today is a new day, and I am hoping to get a lot done. I don't know if I will be home tonight but if I am, I might have a dinner guest.” Devon had a plan in the back of his mind.

“Don't be let down if she says no, Devon.” Heather pointed a finger at him, warning him that her answer was going to let him down.

“I know, but it's simple. I'm going to ask her if she wants to come here and practice her lines for the advertisement and if she says yes, then I will call you. I don't know how she can say no when it has to do with work.” Devon shrugged his shoulders, taking a sip of his coffee and opening up the paper as Heather turned away from him slowly.

Devon was hoping with all his might that Jasmine would come to the house. Even if he had to bring her home early, that was fine with him as long as they were working together. He was hoping that she wouldn't say no to having a meal with him. He would remind her that it was just work and that they could use some food.

He closed his eyes for a moment and wished that Jasmine would see him, would change her mind, and maybe even open up to him just a little. There was nothing he could do to help her if she didn't......

Chapter 1

The week had gone by fast and it was Friday once again. Devon had not succeeded in getting Jasmine to go over to his house, even just to practice their lines together. He didn't push her to go, but his hope balloon had deflated some and he didn't know what his next move was going to be. In any case, he didn't have time to think about that right now. He was getting ready for his date at the studio wearing a black suit and tie that seemed like it was choking him. No matter how many times he tried loosening the tie it seemed to tighten up more and more after a few minutes. He had to remind himself that he couldn't keep adjusting it while he was on camera.

When he thought he looked good enough, he went out to where him and Ken had sat before and saw that Ken was already out there waiting for him; he was relaxed and comfortable in the chair waiting for them to go on air.

“Are you ready for tonight? One down and eight to go. Have you tried talking to Jasmine yet about filling out the form?” Ken asked, looking at him with beaming eyes.

“She said no but I'm going to keep that last slot open for her. I'm working on her, and if she says yes and there are no more spots....she's the one that I want Ken—I can feel it,” Devon grumbled.

“You can't go against the rules of the show, keep that in mind,” Ken murmured, leaning over towards him.

“I know, I know.” He sighed heavily.

“We are getting ready to go live guys,” Calvin told the both of them, popping his head out from behind the camera. He knew that something was going on between the two of them and he didn't want to catch it on camera, warning them that they had to stop what they were doing and put smiles on their faces.

Ken and Devon sat up straight and put smiles on their faces as Calvin brought three fingers up and then two and then one, then moved his hand out of the way. It was then that they knew that they were rolling.

“So, what did you think about the last date that you were on?” Ken asked, turning towards Devon and waiting for his response.

“After we were comfortable with each other, all in all, I think that the date went well. I'm not going to say any more than that; I want you all to be surprised on who I'm going to pick. We have eight more episodes, and it's too early to tell.” Devon winked at the camera giving them something to think about.

“Okay, well, I don't want to waste your time here talking. Why don't we bring out the second woman that you've chosen for tonight.” Ken said excitedly as they both got up out of their chair and turned around to face the dressing room.

Without further ado, Erica came out of the dressing room with a big smile on her face as Devon met her in the middle, just like he had done with Kayla. They hugged one another and when he looked into her eyes, he saw that she was all about the sex, he could tell without her verbally telling him that she couldn't wait to get him behind closed doors.

“Where are you two going on your date tonight, Mr. Sager?” Ken asked him, waiting for a response when Devon finally looked away from Erica.

“I'm thinking that we should go to the movies. I know that she likes horror movies and so do I, so that's something that we both to have in common,” Devon stated, seeing the surprised look on Calvin's face.

Calvin knew that he could record the show because he had a light, but he wasn't sure that everyone would want to watch them watching a movie.

“Are there any other suggestions that you would like to throw out there?” Ken asked him as Devon looked over at him, he could see in Ken's eyes without even the camera catching on that it wasn't a very good idea.

“I have a few other choices. We could go bowling, or we could go on my yacht and cruise the ocean. I would like to leave it up to Erica.” Devon put her on the spot as the camera turned to her and her smile grew wider.

“I'm going to take a walk on the wild side and go on the cruise with you,” Erica answered him quickly and took his hand as if was the most natural thing in the world to be doing, even though they really didn't know each other.

“There you have it folks, she wants to go on a cruise. Since you only have a night, I think that we should get started. I wish the both of you luck with one another.” Ken beamed a smile at Devon, letting him know that they both had made the right choice.

For a minute there, Ken thought that Devon was going to mess the whole thing up. He knew that Devon wasn't really interested in the date, except for the sex part, and he knew that Jasmine was in the back of his mind. He had to respect Devon, though when it was show time his smile faltered, but he was doing good at keeping everything smooth.

They walked out the door and Ken didn't even bother watching the second show. He had some work to do in the office. He knew that he would look at a copy of it later, he wasn't worried about Devon messing up.

They got into the same limo that he had used for the first date. They both got in quickly and, just like the first date, Calvin took the front seat so that he could record everything that was being said to one another.

“I'm really excited to be taking you out on the yacht. You're the first one who has had the privilege to go out on it.” Devon grinned at her, getting ready to make them both a drink from the mini bar that he had in front of him.

“Nice, I'm glad that you think I'm special enough to go out on it.” Erica grinned at him, taking the drink that he had offered to her.

“A toast to a beautiful woman and a good night,” Devon told her, making sure that the cameraman heard everything and that he was clear with his words so that everyone watching at home could hear him too.

“Cheers.” Erica giggled when their glasses clanked together; Devon laughed just for the show. He wasn't happy like he thought he would be. Jasmine was haunting his every move, even though she wasn't there with them.

Calvin didn't record below the waist and he was glad that he hadn't right then. He watched as Erica brought a hand down to Devon's slacks and was surprised to see that she was teasing his cock right there in front of him.

Devon continued to keep a smile on his face even though he wanted to moan for her, the way she was teasing him. He felt his cock growing hard and kept himself from reaching out and taking her dress off of her.

Looking into her eyes, he could see that the dress she was wearing was black, and she was dressed to impress. Not caring how revealing her clothing was, he wanted to bring his tongue between her tits and lick them as he massaged them out of the top of her dress. He refrained himself from doing so.

Calvin watched as he took her hand off his cock that was slowly starting to calm down, and he was thankful for that. He couldn't believe that she had done something like that. Not sure if the viewers at home could see what was going on, he looked at Calvin and saw that Calvin shook his head, letting him know that nothing had been seen.

Devon took her hand and kissed the back of it gently, and Erica watched him do it. She loved how soft his lips were on her hand. She was going to get what she wanted that night, she knew that what she had done wasn't called for, but she couldn't help herself, licking her lips and knowing just how big he was inside the slacks, she couldn't wait until the end of the evening.
