Chapter Seventeen

Stormy

“Where the fuck am I?” I groan as I smell the sea salt and feel the kind of breeze come through the window that can only be found near the ocean. There is no place in the world I would rather be and I shake my head to ensure I’m not just dreaming. The sheer curtains, which really only serve as a liner, blow in the breeze and I can hear the waves crash up on the shore.

I look up to see the love of my life entering the room with a tray of coffee and whatever food he is bringing. It really doesn’t matter because right now, I could eat the tray I’m so hungry.

“How did I get here?”

“We need to talk, girl.”

He holds the tray while I make my way into the bathroom to pee and brush my teeth. The throbbing in my arm has already started.

“Please tell me you have something for pain.”

“I’ll do you one better than that. I have a doctor.”

I make my way back to the bed and sit down.

“What is going on, Miller?”

“We’re on the island I bought.”

“I thought you still have some payments left and construction going on?”

“Antonio Wayne has graced us with paying off both.”

“You’re fucking kidding me,” I screech, almost dropping the tray.

“No, I’m not.”

“I hate to say it, but that’s almost worth getting shot.”

“Don’t say it because to me, it isn’t.”

“Okay…what else is up? I can tell by the look on your face that something else is going on.”

“When we left Antonio’s, it was kind of on the run.”

I cautiously eye him as a sense of dread overtakes me.

“What happened?”

“That fucking Agent Turner…the guy is relentless. He was convinced we had something to do with that last hit and he showed up on Antonio’s doorstep with a warrant.”

“That isn’t good—not good at all.”

“I know it isn’t, Stormy. We’re taking some time off. We can spend six months here training and laying low. It will give your arm time to heal because the doctor is already talking about rehab.

“This shit is important, Stormy. You could have been killed. If that would have been your right arm, you would be out of commission as far as working. We could have been locked up and still could be if that fucking Turner guy finds anything out.”

“Where are we?”

“I’m not telling you where we’re at right now, Stormy. All you need to worry about is getting well, soaking up the sun, and drinking margaritas.”

“I’m fine with that. I think we both need a break anyway.”

“Alright, I’m sending the doctor in and I’m going to go and do some office work. Rest after that and I’ll take you on a tour later.”

I close my eyes as he kisses my forehead and I soak in all of the love I feel coming from a man who is a hired killer…

Epilogue

Miller

I turn to face my open window and eye the ocean that, right now, is at peace but, on a moment’s notice, can turn volatile. It reminds me of my life. My life hasn’t gone the way I expected it to go. I pictured myself dying alone with no emotional ties. I’ve always believed that having emotional ties would make things complicated. It’s the reason I’ve avoided them at all costs.

Stormy can’t be avoided. Much like her name, she came into my life uninvited and demolished the walls I have spent a lifetime constructing over my heart. She tore apart all of the well devised plans ensuring safety and control that I spent countless hours developing.

For the first time in my life, I am experiencing a complete loss of control. I have no idea what my future will bring. I only know it is of utmost importance for me to have her by my side.

I’m certain we aren’t through with the business we’re in but for the next six months, we’ll lay low and get to know one another. I’m sure there will be more stories, more jobs, and more love than I have ever imagined. I have her by my side and that is all that matters…The End, for now…

Prologue: The Club

I pull on my brother’s arm, screaming, as he forces me to board the plane to America.

“I’ll be good. I swear, I will.”

“It isn’t about you being good; it’s about you staying alive, hermano. You are all that I have. I can’t afford to lose you to the drug cartel. I’ll send for you.”

It all caught up to us that day. We were paying for my mother’s sins. Her life of debauchery forced my older brother to work for the Colombian drug cartel and he fears me getting caught up in it.

My heart broke the day my brother put me on that plane, but it was the day that I became a man. I vowed that day to never love again and it has served me well. I am now one of the most deadly and highest ranking mobsters in New York City. I run the most elite gentlemen’s club in the country. Men fly from all over the world to spend time with my women. Lives are bought and sold in my world.

Growing up in the back streets and jungles of Colombia has desensitized me. I clawed my way up through the gutters to become the man that I am today.

I am brutal, I am ruthless, I am vicious, I am cruel, I am savage, and I am a man who will stop at nothing to not only gain, but maintain, control.

If pleasure works, then so be it. If stronger measures of pain need to be taken, then so be it.

This is NOT a love story. It is a dark, erotic tale of a man who is severely damaged. It is about a man who becomes very dangerous when it comes to matters of the club. I control every aspect of my world—my club, my women, and now, my captive.

Roxanne

I traveled the world as a cage fighter. Hey… no girl wants her face messed up, so my friend and I came up with an idea. We would only fight each other and then throw the fights so that the
upsets
would cause us to make more money.

We were doing fine until we stole from the Ramirez brothers. My best friend is now the property of Ricardo Ramirez who resides in Guatemala City. Their story is in the book
Rubia
. I am now the property of Antonio Wayne Ramirez, one of the most deadly and feared men in New York City. My husband is obsessed with me and will stop at nothing to keep me in his possession. To put it simply, the guy is crazy. He’s all about control and pain, and I’m all about surviving it.

I’m a cage fighter… so believe me when I tell you that I was never expecting daffodils and daisies for my life. I’m not the kind of girl who was looking for the happily ever after. I knew there would be no knight in shining armor for me. Still, nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to encounter when I stole from the Ramirez brothers. I fucked up! No, I mean I really fucked up!

The only way to say it is just to say it. Because I stole from the wrong person, I am now the property of a Colombian gangster—a Colombian gangster who owns the most elite gentlemen’s club in New York City. He has access to the most beautiful women in the world and, yet, the only thing Antonio Wayne Ramirez will take for payment, is me…

This is my story. It is not for the faint of heart. Believe me when I tell you that I am no Cinder-fucking-rella. It remains to be seen if I get my
happily ever after.
