Sondra licked the spicy hot barbeque sauce from her fingers after finishing her small rack of ribs, cornbread and the best baked beans she could ever remember eating. “I can think of other things to put that sauce on if you want me to get some to go.”

She hated blushing so easy. Nick and Katherine were chatting away, not paying any attention to her and Rico. “I think I’ve had quite enough already, but thanks!”

He leaned toward his wife. “Did you get enough to eat, subbie? Their ribs are the best in town, I’ll give them that!”

“I’m stuffed. I’m glad we don’t have to eat dessert right now. I’ve got that at the house for us for later.”

“I think Sondra wants a bottle of that rib sauce to take with her, Nick. She couldn’t get enough of it off her fingers tonight.” Rico winked at her.

“I’ll be fine. I’m sure we can order some online when we get home. I’m ready whenever you guys are.” Sondra finished the last of her Jack...her second of the night, but they were going down too well and she loved the company. Every time
she glanced at Rico, he about undressed her right there at the table. Dare she drink when they got to his place? Who knew what might happen!

Thankful that he appeared to be a gentleman regarding what took place between them last night, she hoped it would stay that way. Nick didn’t speak of who he had been with so maybe Rico didn’t tell Katherine either; she’d not hinted that she knew.

Chapter Eight

Nick poured another Jack on the rocks for Sondra when he got himself another one. Rico’s dimly lit family room looked out onto a patio with night lights and a hot tub, maybe for later entertainment. Nick stored that thought. He walked back over and sat beside Sondra as she laughed at Rico’s attempt to get Katherine to let him rub fresh cut strawberries over her nipples.
