Briggs pulled back to stare down at Kya, his mood suddenly turning from jovial to serious. “You are
my
mate Kya. I claim you as such out of love and devotion. I’ll live for you and I’d die for you. I intend on spending the rest of my life protecting you and proving to you how much you mean to me. I love you. You are mine.”

Kya slid her hands up his chest, and laced her fingers behind his head pulling him down until his mouth met her own. She pulled back only briefly, “I intend on holding you to it.”

Briggs’ eyes lit with excitement as he dropped his head and finally claimed her mouth and her heart.
