"Absolutely. I do believe I have it right
here and can print it off for you," he said, sitting back down in
front of the computer. "I think it's simply marvelous that the two
of you are taking the plunge. Who would have thought? And to think,
it all started right here at the Scarlet Pippin." He giggled at the
thought and began pecking at his keyboard.

Married? The boys were married? Before he'd
fully processed this new information, John heard more footsteps on
the stairs and Rose and Dominick entered the lobby.

"Johnny, it's so nice you're staying to have
brunch with us," said Rose. "Such a lovely place here and the food
is to die for. What do you think they got for brunch today? This I
gotta see." She turned her broad smile to Denny before continuing.
"Dennis sweetheart, Dom and I have decided to stay another night,
if it's all right. That great big soaking tub did wonders for my
back last night." She raised her eyebrows, leaned forward, and said
in a stage whisper, "Dom liked it too."

"Certainly Mrs. Buonadies, no trouble, no
trouble at all. Let me just check my computer. Yes indeed, the room
is available," he answered, positively beaming at her.

"Wonderful! You have such a nice place here
and your wife, such a beautiful woman. You have a family,
children?"

"Oh, yes yes, but they're all grown and on
their own. I'm afraid Jennifer and I are sitting on an empty nest,"
he giggled.

John stared open mouthed. Crap! Their room
with the soaking tub, occupied by Theresa's parents. Damn!

They looked at each other and Theresa
whispered, "What'a ya gonna do?"

Deflated he looked from his future in-laws to
the dining room where Beth and Jennifer sat sipping coffee and
talking. He was vaguely aware of their conversation.

"Beth, the latest Tori Baxter novel is out. I
picked it up yesterday. It's called Caribbean Fire and it looks
like it's as hot and sizzling as her others."

"Great! I'm dying to read it. If it's
anything like Baxter's last one, it'll be a page turner, and the
sex, positively smoking hot."

"As soon as I'm finished reading it, I'll
give it to you."

As he eavesdropped on their conversation,
John wondered, who’s this writer, Tori Baxter, that all the women
seemed to love. Does Theresa read those novels? His bride was
bending over the printer, watching as it spit out the granola
recipe.

Denny poked him in the arm and whispered
hoarsely, "John, "I just love it when Jenny reads those romance
novels. Really puts her in the mood, you know what I mean?" he gave
John a significant look. "She gets all excited. I just love it." He
glanced quickly at Theresa and giggled nervously. "Does Theresa
read those books? You might want to get her a Tori Baxter. It's
pretty spicy stuff. I'm just saying...."
