“You’re welcome. I’m not even going to ask where he got this blood.”

It was an odd sight—Sebastian looked like a junkie getting a fix. Alex raised an eyebrow thinking that’s exactly what she was. She shivered uncontrollably when she thought of what Sebastian would do if she didn’t have this blood. Though she still didn’t have a clear memory of that morning in the warehouse, she had flashes of Sebastian, fangs dripping, eyes blood red as she tore apart…

“Don’t think about it, please, Alex,” Sebastian said, her eyes still closed.

“Get out of my head, will you?” Alex patted her knee. “I wish I could remember—”

“I’m glad you don’t.”

Alex heard the change in Sebastian’s voice. It was stronger now, and the air of authority was back. Alex smiled, and so did the sexy vampire.

Sebastian breathed deeply through her nose, as if mediating. Then, in awe, Alex saw them—the fangs protruding between her lips. Her breathing became deeper and she heard the low growl, almost a snarl. A fine sheen of perspiration formed on Sebastian’s brow, glistening in the soft incandescent lamp. Alex watched her breasts rise and fall with each breath Sebastian took. Her jaw tensed, her eyes opened, and she looked right at Alex, who blinked but stared right back into the hazel eyes.

They sat there for a moment in silence. Alex felt the sexual desire cascade off Sebastian’s body as she gazed seductively at Alex. Sebastian’s gaze raked over her and Alex felt her nipples tighten—the throbbing began.

The IV was finished. Sebastian took the needle out of her arm, all the while never losing eye contact with Alex. “Come here, love,” Sebastian said in a low, almost guttural voice.

Alex stepped in between Sebastian’s parted legs and reached out to Sebastian, who shook her head. “Just stand there.”

All moisture left Alex’s mouth. Her body quivered as Sebastian reached out and unzipped her jeans. “Take them off.”

The sensual commanding voice made Alex weak in the knees as she struggled out of the tight denim, then hastily kicked them aside. Sebastian’s nostrils flared as she gazed between Alex’s legs. Alex didn’t know if she could stand much longer, her legs were shaking. Sebastian reached between her legs and gently ran her fingers through her wetness. “For me,” Sebastian said, looking into Alex’s green eyes.

Alex merely nodded as she tried desperately to calm her racing heart. How this vampire controlled her, she would never know and never care.

Sebastian held her hips and maneuvered Alex, who now straddled Sebastian’s lap. She groaned as her naked bottom rubbed against the wool of Sebastian’s slacks. When Sebastian slipped two fingers deep within her, Alex arched her back and cried out. She felt the warm long fingers work deep inside, expanding her walls, her arousal coating Sebastian’s insistent fingers.

“Take that off, as well.” Sebastian motioned to Alex’s sweater.

With trembling hands, Alex slipped the sweater over her head, all the while feeling Sebastian’s fingers slowly thrusting deeper. Instinctively, she started rocking on Sebastian’s hand. She let out a shallow whimper as she ran her fingers through her red hair. “Sebastian,” she whispered her plea. Her body was on fire; she desperately needed to come.

“Not yet.” Sebastian reached up with her other hand and roughly grabbed Alex’s breast.

“Yes.” Alex let out a groan and leaned into the strong hand that kneaded her aching breast. With both hands, Alex held Sebastian’s hand to her breast. She rocked faster over Sebastian’s hand. “Now?” she begged. She felt the sensual sweat dripping down her back. “Please.”

Sebastian leaned forward and took Alex’s other breast into her mouth and flicked her tongue all over her rock hard nipple. Alex whimpered, she shook and trembled as her orgasm welled deep in her belly.

“Now…” Sebastian mumbled against her breast as she stroked Alex’s clitoris with her thumb. “Come.”

Alex grabbed Sebastian’s head and crushed her to her aching breast. Her intense orgasm rippled through Alex as she felt her inner walls clamp around Sebastian’s fingers. “D-don’t stop.
Ohgodohgod
,” she whimpered. Soon, the euphoric feeling was too much. The room began to spin as her body tensed; her heart nearly pounded out of her chest.

“Sebastian!” she screamed as she came. She lost control of her body. It was a mass of quivering nerve endings as Sebastian kept up the pace—fingers thrusting deeper, teeth raking over her aching nipple.

“Fuck!” Alex cried out and threw her head back; she was frantic in her lust for this vampire. She rode Sebastian’s hand with wild abandon.

“That’s it, love,” Sebastian said. “Again.”

Alex felt another orgasm start. She placed her hands on Sebastian’s strong shoulders and bore her hips down, grinding them against her hand. Alex’s hands clawed at Sebastian’s shoulders, then she slumped forward with a whimper. Her chest ached, trying to suck in as much air as she could. Her body quivered as she wrapped her arms around Sebastian’s head, holding her face against her breasts. When she felt Sebastian’s tongue snake out and lick the perspiration off her breasts, she jumped. “No more.”

Alex winced and flopped down on Sebastian’s lap when Sebastian relented and gently withdrew her fingers. She lay back in the bend of Sebastian’s strong embrace. “We’re going to have to stay down here in this smelly damp cellar until I can walk,” Alex said in a ragged voice and reached up to caress Sebastian’s cheek. “That was unbelievable.”

Sebastian gazed at the glistening body that lay across her lap. She reached in and ran her fingers through Alex’s still twitching folds. “No, love. You are unbelievable.”

Alex sighed and closed her eyes as she felt the fingers once again control her. “God. I can’t believe it. If you keep touching me, I’ll come again and I don’t think I have it in me.”

Sebastian raised a challenging eyebrow as she gently brushed Alex’s clitoris. Alex moaned and whimpered again. “You’re a beast.”

“No, I’m a vampire,” Sebastian said and tenderly rolled the throbbing clit between her fingers and thumb. “So wet, love,” she whispered. “Look at me, Alex.”

Alex’s green eyes fluttered open and gazed into the intense hazel eyes. “Oh, God, Sebastian. I’m gonna come again.”

Once again, her orgasm started. This time, Sebastian brought her over the edge gently, never losing eye contact.

Alex’s breathing hitched and she arched her back into Sebastian’s loving touch. “Yes,” she whispered. She reached down and held Sebastian’s hand against her as she trembled through the aftershock. “If you touch me again….”

Sebastian emitted a low laugh and kissed her forehead. She lazily ran her fingers across the top of Alex’s breasts, then down the valley between them.

“I’m not kidding, Sebastian.” She glared at the smirking vampire. “How come I’m the only one naked here?”

“I’m not quite sure.” Sebastian pulled the afghan off the back of the chair, tucking it around Alex.

Alex laughed and curled up on Sebastian’s lap. Sebastian wrapped her arm around her hips and held her close. Alex chuckled as she felt wayward fingers caressing her bottom. “You’re an octopus, for heaven’s sake. Sit still. How do you feel?” Alex saw the faraway look in Sebastian’s eyes. “What are you thinking?”

Sebastian’s lips twitched with amusement. “Which question shall I answer first?”

“Take your pick.”

Sebastian ignored both. “I must meet with
Gaylen
this evening—”

“Alone?”

“No, love, I want you to meet him. William got this blood from
Gaylen
. He too believes as I do,” Sebastian said. “Besides, I want him to meet the doctor who saved my existence.”

It struck Alex then just what Sebastian meant. Since she met Sebastian, Alex had thought only of her love for this brooding vampire. The extent of her research would soon reach far beyond her and Sebastian.

Once Sebastian destroyed Leigh, an upheaval in the vampire community followed. Alex had no idea what that really meant. However, as she watched Sebastian’s intent gaze, she knew her research would be a catalyst for more upheaval. Alex carried the serum in her bloodstream for Sebastian, but there were others like Sebastian who needed it, as well.

“We need a lab,” Alex said.

Sebastian looked down into the green eyes and nodded. “We need to meet with
Gaylen
.”

“He can help, right?”

When Sebastian didn’t answer, Alex shivered and held Sebastian tighter.

Chapter 5

“You didn’t indulge, Sebastian, so you can’t come with me,” Alex insisted while Sebastian brooded. “It’s still daylight and I want to see this property of yours.” She looked at her watch, then kissed Sebastian’s cheek. “Come join me when the sun goes down.”

Sebastian grunted. “Don’t stray far.”

Alex heard the concern in Sebastian’s voice. “I love it that you worry about me,” she said lightly and turned.

Sebastian grabbed her elbow and pulled her back. “Don’t take this lightly. You must be cautious when I’m not with you. Why can’t you just wait until—?”

“Sebastian, we can’t live in fear of everything. I’m just going for a walk.”

“Damn it, you’re stubborn!” Sebastian waved her hands in a helpless gesture as she let Alex go.

“Yes, and so are you, so stop scowling.” Alex kissed her on the lips and left.

It would be twilight in a few minutes, Alex thought; Sebastian would join her then. She walked down the gravel drive and took a path through the woods. When the English Channel came into view, Alex took a deep breath of sea air. As she took in her surroundings, she realized that Sebastian’s house was situated on a hill overlooking the channel. The woods ended and Alex stood in a clearing. She gazed out at the sea and took a deep breath, filling her lungs with sea air. She smiled when she heard the sea birds calling, feeling relaxed and calm.

She walked farther toward the cliff’s edge and heard the surf crashing below. For some reason, the hair on the back of her neck bristled, making her shiver uncontrollably.

It was then she heard it, the low rustling in the woods. She whirled around and caught a glimpse of something, someone.

“Shit!” She knew the only way back to the house was through the wooded path. Again, she saw something to the right.

“Alex.”

She whirled around again to see Sebastian standing at the cliff’s edge, her long leather coat billowing in the sea breeze.

“Damn it, Sebastian. Don’t do that,” she said. “I think I saw something in the woods.”

Sebastian stood next to her. “I know. I felt it…”

Alex shot her a curious look. “Felt it? Felt what?” She was not at all sure she wanted to know.

Sebastian glanced around the woods. “Something…”

“By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes?” Alex asked and walked over to Sebastian.

“Let’s go before Macbeth shows up and you scare the hell out of yourself.”

Alex wrapped her arm around Sebastian’s waist. “Don’t tell me you knew Shakespeare,” she warned.

Sebastian raised an eyebrow but said nothing as they walked up the narrow path.

They made their way back from the wooded path and heard nothing more as they walked up the gravel drive. “This is beautiful, Sebastian,” Alex said with a pensive sigh as she gazed at the twilight sky.

“I remember buying this place.
Gaylen
thought it was perfect. It was secluded with no one to bother me, really. I made my trips to London and worked with Henry Windham.”

Alex saw the contemplative gaze. “You were all alone.”
